I bought an outdoor Biogents mosquito…
I bought an outdoor Biogents mosquito trap 4 years ago. Apart from the fact that the trap is effective at killing mosquitoes, the quality of the device really isn't up to the asking price. I already had to replace the transformer, which failed after two years, and now the fan. For a machine at this price, I am very disappointed.

In principle, the individual parts of the trap are very durable, but at the same time they are naturally exposed to all kinds of weather conditions. Unfortunately, this means that the power supply or fan in particular may occasionally fail. Whether the trap is expensive or cheap is, of course, always a question of which products you compare it with.

Thank you for your message and your purchase. You don't need to worry about the production date of BG-Sweetscent (the date printed on the packaging is the date of production, not the best-before date). You can use the BG-Sweetscent sachets for the 2026 season without any problems, as they have a shelf life of at least two years from the date of production. Store the unopened sachets in a cool place away from direct sunlight.

Product installed since 3 weeks, it seems to work but indeed this should be installed early spring time to be more efficient and avoid mosquito numbers to increase!

Tiger mosquitos under control
I had a pretty bad tiger mosquito problem in my back patio - it was really stopping us using it. I've had the biogents trap for about 4 weeks and it's made a big difference. Not 100%, but that's probably impossible. At first I had it in the middle of the patio area and it wasn't effective, so I moved it to near the plants and it's working much better. I've also got two of the anti-breeding traps which have also been effective. These traps are expensive, but they're the only ones that work that I've tried so far and I'm happy with the results. Also their customer service is great and very responsive.

Works really well
