Phenomenal tech support.

I had an issue with my ISP and they swapped out my router. As it retained the same SSIDs and passwords all my devices reconnected with the exception of the Dual BG Smart Socket. That's the only reason I have not given a 5 star rating.

However the single biggest reason I am here today is to praise their support. UK Support line answered within 20 seconds by a "highly competent" young lady named Abby.

Hats off she got to the crux of the issue through a very logical series of steps. She quite clearly has a deep understanding of the product and it's connectivity with Android and Apple handsets.

She instilled confidence from the outset with her patient and logical approach and got it working first time.

Asset to the company and well done BG for having a UK Support line.

Do not install

I have 10 BG Double Sockets throughout my house. My opinion is not to go near them. They are unpredictable and unreliable, hard to connect and overall infuriating.
I placed most of the sockets in hidden socket areas e.g behind tvs. When the internet is turned off and back on again the sockets will not reconnect. You have to reinstall the lot of them which takes hours because of the trouble connecting to the internet no matter how close they are to the modem. They often connect you to a sub group but if anything happens to the main socket all your sockets go down as well. These were to be convenient products but have turned into nightmares. Contacting the BG helpdesk is a waste of more of your time. Go back to the old sockets is my best advice.

Dont buy, doesnt work

Just purchsed the outdoor smart socket. Easy to install. The App BG home wont download as error states it was built for an older version of andriod. The BG smart home app wont allow you to connect to a wifi device. Checked youtube and other support. Nothing. Now need to remove and send back for refund. Save yourself time and dont purchase this product

BG electrical nexus chrome sockets

have had 10 double sockets fitted just over a year ago. 2 failed within 1st month and now another 2 have failed after just over a year. this is also with minimal use in a 2 person household

Useless customer service, useless company!

Fully kitted out a house in bg nexus sockets and switches, some have started to fail after 2 years and bg dont want to know even though theres a 10 year warranty, whats worse i cant buy new to replace them as the colour has discontinued. Further to this i bought switches 4 months ago for an extension, ive gone to buy sockets to match and the sockets have been discontinued. Bg keep repeating i should go back to the retailer even though ive told bg the retailer wont take them back and doesnt solve the problem of not matching the rest of the house. Then they rudely decided to close the case without any resolution. Useless customer service, useless company. Will never buy anything from them again.

Support is terrible

Support is terrible.
I had a charger that failed and they wanted a list of items including pictures, videos, bank details, etc. before they'd consider the support ticket

Very, very poor

Very, very poor. 1. Service- emailed 3 times for help and no response at all. 2. Product, WiFi extender makes no difference. Don't waste your money as this company is very very poor

Absolutely the worst smart socket out…

Absolutely the worst smart socket out there. So very difficult to set up. Don’t waste your time. You will be messing about for days. In the day and age of plug and play. What’s going on here then Stolen my money and they will take yours. DONT BUY

Faulty BG dimmers and sockets

we are electrical contractors in trade for over 25 years.i go to peoples houses since 5 years to replace faulty BG sockets and dimmers,which has been installed maximum 2 years.
BG dimmers and sockets give fault within maximum of two years.
Thank you BG,You creating constant income for electricians with not long lasting product.(still feeling sorry for the customers though)

Useless product

Had a smart plug given me as a present. It worked fine for approx 6 weeks then stopped working and displayed "No internet connection". After investigation I went through the rigmarol of disabling the 5g setting in the router to get the plug working however when I reset the 5g connection in the router the plug displayed "No internet connection" and stopped working again. I messaged technical help but have had no response.
Users shouldnt have to change router setting to get the device to work, other smart plugs such as Tapo work without any issues. I wouldnt recommend any one to buy this product.
