0/10 would not recommend

Our experience with Better Earth has been almost entirely awful. We signed our solar contract in February of 2022. Installation of solar equipment started in April. After almost 2 years, and 7 failed inspections by our local fire department, we were able to actually start using our solar system. They responded and fixed an issue with water leaking into electrical conduit several weeks later. We had no issues for about 2 years after that, but 2 weeks ago our system quit supplying power to our house. I’m no electrician so I cannot tell why, but I can tell you that we've had zero response from Better Earth about it. We’ve called, and filed more than one request for service through their website, but no one has answered the phone or replied to our requests.
I’m hoping they see this review and deign to address this issue before I have to contact the California Public Utilities Commission for help.
I rate this company 0/10, would not recommend to anyone.

Cold called by Better Earth, then dumped by them.

My experience with Better Earth wasn't particularly good, but thankfully didn't go far. I was cold called by them. I currently have a 5yr old rooftop solar install from a different company. That company is no longer in business. The system functions but doesn't provide me enough power generation to offset my old home's air conditioning costs, especially in July and August. I was told by the first Better Earth rep that there were programs available that would cover the cost of augmenting my current system. I wouldn't be out of pocket on the install, and would no longer be paying SCE during the hot months in SoCal. Sounded worth exploring! They set me up with a sales rep who asked me for my SCE bill and info on my current system. I provided and we scheduled call time for a few days later. The sales rep got back to me a day or two later indicating there's insufficient room on my roof for any additional panels, and he couldn't do anything for me. I disagree. There is in fact some room for additional panels. I said I still had questions for him, and asked if we could keep the call appointment. He ignored this request, so I asked again. He responded my second time, saying he was busy and didn't understand how he could be of any additional help. I let it go. The interaction with this company left a bitter taste.

Terrible Incompetence

First of all, they delayed and did not submit my application for NEM 2.0 in California which would have guaranteed me of a 5 year payoff on a grid tied system and 15 years of free electricity. (at least $30k).

Then they kept my $1000 deposit. I never got a solar system. I have to keep on calling them almost a year later. They really overpromised and underdelivered.
