I typically would not shop in this price range, but there simply is no other bag on the market that has the size I need and the pockets I need.

The purchase ripped a significant hole in my wallet, but this will (slowly) vanish over time.

My weekender, however, will stay.

A great watch makers line came to my mind -

"You can never really own one. You merely keep it for the next generation".

Surely this is a little over the top but in a world where we get increasingly alienated from our more and more meaningless things, I feel an item so useful and so pretty is really something extraordinary.

I first came across this 18 months ago on a flight magazine and the bag stayed with me just because of its unique look, utility, style and design attributes. I had a very positive experience at the Savile Row location. The luggage was thoughtfully described and I got to witness an unnatural, yet fascinating, demonstration of water being poured over a suede bag, which remained dry to the touch. Although I do not tend to invite the supernatural into my home, and I kept a safe distance from that suede, the bag I did purchase is wonderfully designed and constructed. I am pleased both with the luggage, and with the knowledgeable, patient, and gracious Bennet Winch team. Next time I decide to hemorrhage money on Savile Row, I may pick up another piece at Bennet Winch.
