Can’t understand the negative reviews

Can’t understand the negative reviews, had an excellent experience. Thought the menu look pricy and there are some very expensive items on there but we paid £ 170 for 3 people including the service charge. Food was superb, the starters that come included with most meals are delicious. The presentation, entertainment and skills from the chef were superb but not in an intrusive way if you are not interested. Great experience. Thank you. Forgot to say, my daughter just had tap water and they kept her topped up as though she was on an expensive wine. Just great. Covent Garden branch.

What a waste of money!

What a waste of money!
A well rehearsed conveyer belt of cheap ingredients put together with no thought. Watery tasteless soup, and a small salad which was just a pile of iceberg lettuce. Six prawns chopped into pieces served to four people. A few fried onions and two slices of courgette, randomly put on our empty plates. It was all just about making money. Very disappointed with the whole experience. The meat course wasn’t any better. No flair, no real commitment to the customers enjoyment. They couldn’t wait to clear up and move on!!

Terrible cook and forgot the fried rice

Went to Benihana Covent Garden. We sat down, waited almost 40 mins for the cook to start though we got there on time. The cook either did not split the fried rice property or there was not enough fried rice for one of us which is terrible organisation. He kept on dropping the spatula and his skills were almost non existant.
The missing fried rice came 4 minutes before we left so had to get a box to takeaway. Do not pay extra to come here and eat for a terrible experience. I had to ask them to remove the service charge.

Absolutely horrible

Absolutely horrible, i will never go back. We dined in with a reservation at 5:15, paid our bill at 7:13. After 2 hours, the back kitchen NEVER made my childrens meals (age 5 and 6). While we were waiting on bill, the childrens meals were finally finished. Our only option at this point was to get them to go...after my children waited for 2 hours. The manager came by and i told him my children never got their meal. He mumbled something and walked away, never saw him again. We spent over $200 and had to get $45 worth or our meal to go because it came after we were done. I will never go here again.

Terrible!!! Dont waste your time

Went to their branch in sackville street for a meal with my wife. Having been seated after a 20 minute wait, which was fine as we were a little early, the whole experience was a waste of time. Having asked for the set menu I was told I could not have it as I dont eat meat, and the menu was snatched out of my hand. I had only asked for one of the 8 dishes not to be served as it was meat. A little annoyed, my wife and I decided to leave as the service had been poor. The waitress came over and I explained we were leaving, she did not even bother to ask why she just said she would call the manager. The manager could not have cared less and just shrugged as we left. I cannot believe that a so called above average restaurant employ a manager with no customer service skills - total joke. I have eaten in this place several times before and standards have been slipping. Its become a total joke and I would never set foot in the place again. My advice to anyone thinking of going is not to bother as the staff are rude, which at £50 a head is simply not good enough.
