Absolutely unacceptable service following the Adelaide Bank → Bendigo Bank merger.
Accounts were transferred from Adelaide Bank to Bendigo Bank as part of the merger, and the experience since has been nothing short of disastrous.
Call wait times are consistently over 1.5 hours. This was understandable for the first few weeks, but it has now gone on for months. If you choose to merge banks, you have a responsibility to staff appropriately and support customers through the transition. That clearly hasn’t happened.
There have been incorrect payments taken from accounts, cards set up against the wrong accounts, and complete administrative chaos. We previously had one card with Adelaide Bank and were sent three cards by Bendigo Bank due to their own errors. New cards had to be reissued again because they were incorrectly linked.
Today alone, this is the fifth phone call attempting to resolve ongoing issues:
First call: on hold for over an hour, then the call was cut off
Second call: over 1.5 hours on hold, still no one to speak to
This level of service is unacceptable for any financial institution, let alone one handling people’s money. Poor planning, poor execution, and zero regard for customers’ time.
Do better.

Shocking service ..no service trying to speak to customer service on line. Waited an hour no sign of call being answered. I wanted to deposit an inheritance with them..a large amount of money. OMG ridiculous . No way am I going to deposit with this bank who treats its customers with no respect.

I have been a happy customer banking here for in-between 10-20years now without a single complaint until less than 6months ago when for whatever reason ,it changed it's business model from making banking as convenient as possible for its customers to nothing short of a fascist regime/dictatorship type of deal where they dictate what we can and can't buy with our money but dont even notify customers of the sudden drastic rule changes until they PERMINANTLY disable your ability to send money IN ANY OUTGOING transfers either with osko or direct transfers to bsb account numbers which if that wasn't making my life more difficult, then they blocked my ability to shop online..what have nazis suddenly taken over the bank or something. Reading the other reviews here ALOT of people have the same issue and they have left us all no other choice but to take our business to a different bank. I have never seen such a large and successful business be really going out of there way to commit suicide by forgetting the most obvious rules to making money is to attract customers not just pointlessly force loyal customers to go to your f&*king competitors!!! And that's the very least you could have at least even given one warning notice informing of your random decision of changing your rules on a whim to have at least given us the chance of avoiding pissing off a good chunk of your customers no because you just decided that you have you're in prejudice against cryptocurrency well I guess you decide to that no one else is allowed to purchase crypto apparently for our own protection of course. A rush to the branch today quickly with your every cent before they decide that's a take out cash either for my own protection.Not like you would have EVER Reimbursed a single cent worth of funds lost by ANYONE that got themselves scammed by crypto so why punish everyone who's to stupid to listen to the all important DYOR *OR DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH * THAT Is literally written crypto and stockmarket site . Features on account blocked.
Used my card to pay for something online which apparently breached the banks terms and conditions so my account has now lost features such as payid and I cannot transfer money using the app or e-banking to anyone. The only way I can access my own money is with a card at an ATM or in a branch. I live way out of civilisation so the bank has screwed me for doing something i didn't know about and without any warning. Going to branch this week to close both my accounts.

Wodonga:Waited 20 min. 1 operator working while 4 others walked around. Couldn't help with enquiry because I didn't have physical licence despite electronically available. Teller then rude in responses. Need to update technology processes.

I have been waiting 45 minutes on their line to report a potential fraud. Plenty of time for fraudsters to continue to defraud.
While I am waiting I am continually told to treat bank staff with respect while I am being treated with total contempt. No advice on how long I will wait or call back option.

Trying to open an account. Apparently only certain staff are qualified to open new accounts. Local branch has a staffing issue. Bank actually expected us to drive to another town an hour away! We suggested providing our identification documents to the local branch for verification and dealing online or by phone with the other office but they refused this very reasonable request. Very unhelpful and a poor showing. Zero customer service.

In the past two weeks, I've been stuck trying to transfer and pay at a checkout multiple times and I'm fed up with not being able to use the e-banking. This is getting beyond a joke. I love banking with you guys but I'm now looking at changing banks. I'm sick of not being able to access my money and pay bills because there's always an issue.

Bendigo have so far been an excellent alternative to the big 4 for small business. Easy to contact with direct phone numbers provided, despite not being a big customer, and a level of support similar to that of what it was like 15 years ago with the ANZ.

Misleading and Unethical
My experience with this bank was the most negative I've ever had. Their staff engaged in what I consider misleading and unethical practices, and then falsely reported the details of our conversation. This isn't just bad customer service; it's dishonest.
Bendigo bank froze my account
Bendigo bank froze my account one day before I was to fly to Istanbul. No warning. When I asked them why they froze my account they said it's because I didn't respond to them Wether I was working overseas. Im not sure why they thought i was working overseas, this is not possible. Bendigo Bank said they had been trying to contact me for months. This is a lie, I have no record of them contacting myself. In addition, I still have not recieved an explanation or compensation for the flight I missed. I have evidence of missing flight and evidence they never contacted me and still haven't. Banks are a scam and Bendigo bank is not the community bank.

They should not have the keys to a petty cash tin let alone be running a bank. I changed address and notified Bendigo Bank well in advance that 2 accounts would need updating. A business account was closed down by them before I could withdraw funds prior to deregistration. They sent the notification to the old address. They sent replacement credit cards for a personal account to the old address. When I queried this they said the address had been updated but the statements still show old one. They could offer no explanation. Now I'm wasting my life trying to speak to someone.

Someone took money out of my bank, rang them and told hard luck and cancelled my card. 2 days latter Friday night lock my account can't get access to any money to get food.rang 3 times to try and sort it. 1.5 hours each time just to talk to someone. got know where in the end was told my account closed and no longer deal with me. Permananet App failure
My App worked fine for about 18 months then it suddenly stopped working. Says it cant connect to the internet. MY ING Bank App works fine and I can do Google searches no problem but no - Bendigo Bank keeps telling me that my phone is the problem. So what's the problem? They don't know. Useless.

My 89 Year old Mother Had 95,000 stolen from her…by her Daughter!!!
My 89 Year Old Mother had $95,000 stolen from her by her Daughter.
She generated a Fraudulent Power of Attorney document to remove my mother's money from Westpac.
She then Trasferred it into a Bendigo Bank account without My mother's knowledge until she found her balance was zero.
I hired a Lawyer and we found the money to be at Bendigo Bank.My sister had already spent $9,000!!
My Mother was Hospitalised due to her rapid decline of health through stress and shock so much so she broke her hip a 2nd time and spent 5 to 6 weeks in Hospital.I spent months aiding her recovery.Happily she's much better and happier now.
That's due to almost all her money being recovered.
Long story short Bendigo Bank Returned the money back to mum and even gave her $8,100 back of the $9,000 spent and it wasn't their responsibility.They were victims of My Sister so they didn't necessarily have to pay back the spent money,but they paid the absolute maximum you could get.
To be Clear it was the Templestowe Branch in Melbourne who did the hard yards and they had absolutely no obligation to do so.
Their customer resolution team were very receptive and determined to Resolve the issue pending evidence which I had literally pages and pages of.They were brilliant too and had never met me thus far as they were in Adelaide.Cudos to them as well!!
Westpac on the other hand were irresponsible and aloof about the whole issue.
I will always Bank with Bendigo Bank
Never Westpac also Bendigo Bank pays FAR HIGHER INTEREST.
Any complaints about them are often the Clients issue and expecting things that aren't possible or they miscommunicate or mislead.
I've learnt plenty and being 100% clear and %1000 Honest gives excellent results.
Highly recommend and especially if you're in Doncaster or Templestowe area try them.Awesome people!!!
