The Bearded Colonel Reviews 

I have been using Bearded Colonel for around 3 years now and they have been excellent. Not only are the blades great but customer service is excellent.

Now that they have a new product I’ve left the fold. The new blade and handle are of no use to me and are of an inferior quality to the original. Not as sharp, give a rash and not as close a shave.
In fact the original design seems to belong to someone else as a friend of mine has subscribed to a competitors product and they are the same as the original Brarded Colonel design. I’m mymopinion they have no intellectual property on the original.
I’m sure that Harry’s (competitor) have ownership of the original and the manufacturing facility.
That’s my opinion and what I’ve found out.
Love to know if anyone else can throw light on this.

I have been using Bearded colonel for about 2 years now. Have now cancelled my subscription.

I like the mail order concept and it the original razors were OK. I used to get a lot of shaving rash with them, but thought this was my technique.

I'm not getting along with the new razors and constantly cut my face, this sought me to try different razors and after two months the situation has improved dramatically.

I wouldn't recommend them to other people.

I hate the new blades and found the old ones. You can buy the old ones really cheaply on Amazon Germany look for Feintechnik 5 blades
Bearded Colonel also at first told me they would continue to supply the old blades and then set the new ones anyway. Agreed to cut the price but the blades just are not worth it.

They used to supply good razors, but I smell a rat with the good reviews of the new blades. They are blunt as anything, and left my face a painful mess, as bad as a bic disposable. Have cancelled my subscription, and, quite by chance discovered who now supplies the blades Bearded Colonel used to supply, they even fit on the bearded colonel handles!

Amazing blades and value!

I've been using the Bearded Colonel for around 2.5 years now but was compelled to review after their recent blade redesign.

It used to offer a pretty good shave for a great price and the price and convenience alone kept me hooked. I had however been thinking to try another service in search of a better shave however they updated the blade design around two months ago and the new blades are absolutely incredible! They're certainly the best that I've used and while there may be a better one out there I can't imagine I'll feel compelled to try and find it anytime soon.

Used Bearded Colonel a while back, and liked their razors. Then others came along and they had better blades and especially some had a separate blade for under the nose - which was what I wanted.

Recently Bearded Colonel has upgraded their blade to have this feature - plus a roller on the trailing edge, which does allow it to roll better on the skin.

The shave quality is excellent - close and lasts all day - and does not cause me any irritation and I find I can use standard shaving gels just fine with it.

The handle has always been a great design on the Bearded Colonel razor and is far superior to that of competitors handles as well.

It is good to see such competition in this area and I am once again a happy Bearded Colonel customer.

Delivery is fantastic - as with all of these online companies, and response to questions very good indeed.

Terrible, cheap feel razors. I have to say these are the worst razors I have ever used and I have tried all sorts.

There are some things that you just can't scrimp on and I accept now that razors is one of those items. Back to paying higher prices for branded 5 blades and a trimming strip and boy is it worth it. More comfortable, last longer, quicker and safer.

Ok, after being with this company for 2 years and using their razors daily i was even more delighted when i received the new upgraded blades, the ones before were great and i could never complain.... BUT the new ones are even better with a great handle to go with them - its an even smoother shave along with trimming my sideburns. I am so delighted and will never leave these guys (Especially with such a great price)

After a hiccup with a duplicated order, the convenience of having my blades delivered at regular intervals is a real boon. The quality of shaves using a brush and shaving soap, purchased elsewhere, is as good as anything I have ever experienced including wet shaves at a traditional gentlemens' hairdressers. The blades have recently turned purple in colour, not sure why when black was perfectly adequate. Thankfully the shaves remain excellent.

So, I hated shaving. For years had to do it every day, however, in retirement it's now just twice a week..

Having spent a fortune over the years on big brand blades, sensitive skin gel, pre shave etc, etc earlier this year I switched to getting four blades every quarter from the bearded colonel. I couldn't be happier. Using the new blades plus a cheap Wilkinson Sword shaving brush and soap has saved me loads, given me a closer shave.

But, best of all, having been plagued for forty years by unsightly ingrown hairs under my chin and on my neck this problem is gone and my skin feels and looks so much better. So I'm saving money, getting a better shave and my skin is clearer. What's not to like?

used to use the original cornerstone which was great, then they changed to a mainstream design and are quite frankly average.. so searched for another independant, tried shavekit/ ok but v similar to the new cornerstone, then harrys (looks like the old cornerstone) but found the blades poor and also the extra blade (on the top) lightweight handle too, so a no for them too, finally after much searching found bearded colonel, bit of a naff sounding brand but the blades are brilliant, handle is good too ( im told they fit the old cornerstone metal one which i love) so overlook the corny name, the blades are excellent, 10 days in and the blade feels as sharp as ever! happy man

My go-to Razor used to be Wilkinson Sword Hydro 5 as they used to work best for me. No real complaints about them but I wanted something that was cheaper and also it's nice to support smaller companies I feel. I tried Harrys before Bearded Colonel and their blades were terrible, lots of drag no lubrication for the strip. They told me it because I'm holding the handle wrong and I needed to shave at a 45-degree angle. Sorry, but the razor should adapt to how I shave not the other way round. I promptly cancelled my subscription with them and looked elsewhere.

I read about BC and thought I'd give them a shot. I'm so glad I did, I went for the £10 every two months setup as I don't shave every day. I also purchased the brush and Sandalwood cream. What a joy to shave with. It just feels better than the Wilkinson Sword shave. No catch at all, no tiny nick/bloodspots and no shaving rash either. Really happy so far and I think the success of this razor has a lot to do with the blade design - Gothic Arch II. Not many blades have this and I believe its why liked this shave this morning.

Brilliant concept and flawless execution. The razors are of superb quality, the shaving cream is a joy to use (I chose the sandalwood scent) and the convenience of having these delivered on a regular basis is just too good to pass up!

I cannot say anymore than those who have given 5 stars below. Best shave I've had yet and I have used the likes of Gillette. Due my first set of replacement blades, but I'm already convinced to stay put.

I've shaved for 20 years & am a marketing persons dream having tried all razors , I won't be trying any others now I have these.
You can set your watch with the delivery day , prompt & reliable .
A nice company with a great product.

I'm a female and use the razors to shave my body and they're frankly amazing. The shaver itself isn't too bulky and I've never had a smoother shave. The amount of heads that come are great and they last far longer than competitors (I've used plenty of female AND male targeted razors )

Excellent service and a great product.
I had an issue with I missing shaver in my monthly subscription and emailed them directly. The customer service I received was second to none and after several issues with the postal service (totally outside if there control), I was credited one month's subscription fee for my trouble!
The Bearded Colonel is still quite a new startup and they are competing against the likes of Gillette and Wilkinson Sword! I feel they offer a more personal (and better service), a high-quality product and much better value for money than any of the big names.
They get my vote every time!

Great razors and brush. Very close, comfortable shave without cuts or nicks. Blades arrive on time. The brush is lovely. Now have subscribed for their socks which are seductively comfortable! JOHN
