High quality course

Experiencing the course has given me the tools to manage difficult situations and conversations. The design allowed for breakout sessions to discuss with others, internal reflection, up-to-date research and whole class activities. The practitioner was approachable and highly knowledgeable. I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to improve their communication in a compassionate manner.

A difficult course well delivered

Initially, I was concerned with how I was going to absorb half a day of 'heavy' content in this training. I was wrong. Throughout a well-structured course, Kevin made use of his impressive human connections skills to make me comfortable thinking, talking and feeling about various aspects of mental health. A combination of short lectures, group discussions and working in breakout groups proved very effective, indeed.

Mental Health First Aid 2 day course

I joined a 2 day remote MHFA course with colleagues which was expertly led by Kevin Moore. There was a lot to learn, but the materials sent in advance of the training were excellent, as were the online activities completed during the course. Kevin made use of break-out rooms and the training was very inclusive. He referred to a lot of experiences from his personal life which really helped to put the training into context. I would recommend this course to anyone wishing to become a trained mental health first aider.

Would 100% recommend

Have been trained from this company a couple of times now. Both times was with Kevin, very informative, professional and engaging. Explanations are clear. Always felt at ease to ask a question. It is refreshing to be trained from someone you can tell is passionate about what they are teaching. Would 100% recommend.

Mental Health First Aid Training - Everyone should have it!

The way in which the Mental Health First Aid training was delivered was so interactive and effective despite the fact it was delivered online. The two-days went by very quickly and the pace was great. Kevin was so engaging, interesting and informative and it feels like I have been on a real journey as a result of his excellent delivery of the course. I feel better able to care for myself as well as more able to support others around me, whether that be at work, at home or generally should it be needed. I genuinely enjoyed every minute and have learned so much!

Excellent training!

Very engaging. Very well explained and taught. Used clear examples of real life situations to explain what was at first very technical and complex mental health scenarios and / or conditions. Thoroughly enjoyed meeting Kevin and will definitely recommend anyone to take this training as it will really help you not just professionally but also personally. Thank you Kevin!

Essential training delivered superbly by Big Dog and Lil Dog!

I attended the 2 day course and both the content and the trainers surpassed my expectations!

The coursework was brilliantly managed even though it was all online. The sessions felt well paced and throughout the journey, Kevin and Bob made sure it was a safe space for the whole group.

I would highly recommend BDLD and will be looking at some of the other courses they offer as well.

P.S. We all need some BDLD merch in our lives. Make it available already!

Essential training for everyone to be honest!

We did the 2 day training course through our company for our team of managers and it was SUCH a great experience - an incredibly safe space where we not only learned tons from big dog and little dog, but also learned more about each other and how we can actually improve our work environment for everyone. I'm so glad we had this opportunity to learn from these guys!

An interesting and engaging course…

An interesting and engaging course delivered with a trainer with lived experience who shared his experiences in an eloquent and informative style. I think everyone should attend this course - particularly in these unsettling times. It is really important for people to understand that we all can have good mental health irrespective of whether we have experienced mental ill health. Everyone should use ALGEE as an empowering tool!

The training was great, despite already working within mental health there was still so much I was able to learn and take away from the 2 day course. Not once did I feel under stimulated or bored. Kevin was very knowledgeable and great at holding everyone's attention, encouraging participation and delivered the training well overall.
I shall be encouraging my colleagues to keep an eye out for the next dates!

Best training course I've been on

The trainer (Kevin) was extremely engaging. At no point during the course did I ever feel bored or unengaged - Kevin had a really great technique for this! Personally I think it's quite difficult to keep a group focused especially over a two day course but it was done extremely well. Kevin made us all feel welcome, made sure we kept focus when discussions might go off topic, he gave examples from his personal experience which made us feel comfortable, he built an environment where everyone would feel comfortable to participate (even the quiet ones). I don't have any tips for constructive criticism because the course was delivered so well. Would highly recommend them!!

What an excellent course

What an excellent course. Well worth attending. Courses like this should be compulsory in the work place. Kevin the course tutor was excellent in his delivery, made the course enjoyable and was always open to discussions throughout.

Cant rate this company and course highly enough. Will be looking at other courses they have to offer.

Bring back the big dog

A two day very intensive course. I’m glad it was spread over three days because I was mentally fatigued after day one. I’m not used to being taught in acronyms so I found that challenging (it must be my age) Everything was put in to compartments with some very long words and complex explanations and that too was very hard to digest.
Luckily Kevin was an excellent tutor and on day two had turned some of my negative thoughts into positive ones. I would strongly recommend everyone should do a course in mental health but you might need someone like Kevin to guide you through this complex mind field.
The course is never boring, but be prepared for a roller coaster of emotions to be laid bare
