GOOD QUALITY BUT HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE AND UNRELIABLE SHIPPING TIME - I ordered a few barongs for my wedding in May and paid to have it rushed (which their website states it will take 5-7 days for rush orders to be delivered). I thought a 2-month lead time will suffice especially I paid it to be rushed and expected to receive my orders after 7 days at most. However, I didn't manage to receive my orders after 7 days. For some reason, I only received 2 items from my order in the first instance. Apparently, the rest got lost somewhere on my way to my location. I gave their customer service a call and didn't get a call back after how many days. They ended up re-sending the rest of my orders, however, the sizes were inconsistent from what I ordered and the barongs have different colours (this was already April by the way when I received them). Don't get me wrong, as their quality is good but I didn't receive the rest of my orders right. I ended up requesting for a refund as everything's not going well. I have been in contact with their customer service since then and up until now (October) still haven't received my refund back. 6 months and still nothing.

Ordered custom size and followed their instructions, resulting Barong was very ill fitting. No remediation done. Ended up with nothing to use for an important occasion. Unreliable and disappointing

Horrible experience! After delayed shipping for how many weeks, my order arrived in a very cheap packaging after paying CA$300++. I was excited that I will get a custom made barong, and I gave all my measurements. There’s a note on their website saying they will take care for the measurement allowance, so I gave them the exact measurements of my body. And here’s the most exciting part, I can’t breath when I’m wearing the barong! Stitches are not of high quality workmanship, it appears they rushed my order when I did the follow-up. Never again!

I don't like to purchase online because I'm afraid to get a wrong size or product. But when I try to purchase from the online shop, their staff is very approachable and the item arrived quicker than expected plus the quality of the product is amazing! I will recommend this company/online shop to my friends!

My experience with this company was great. My order came just a few days after I placed an order. The shipping was fast and the quality was good. I would definitely order from this company again. I did not see the reviews about this company after I placed my order. But it worked out because the reviews were the complete opposite from what I experienced.

Horrible sizing!!!

I ordered the womens silk cocoon bolero in a large size to wear to a wedding. I didn't get a chance to wear it as it took weeks to arrive. Once it finally arrived, there was a tearing of the material in one area so I returned for an exchange. I also requested a size medium instead as the large hung off my shoulders. I again had to wait for weeks until the replacement arrived. At this point I had no use for the bolero but still really wanted it. Once the replacement was received I already knew it was not going to fit as it looked like a size small. I reached out to try to get another replacement (decided to just get the large) but was told there's a $45 restocking fee plus shipping because it was a made to order item. First of all a restocking fee of $45?!?!?! and how is it a made to order item when I NEVER provided specific measurements. I simply chose a large or medium. A complete waste of money!!! I already paid $65 plus shipping and taxes initially, then paid shipping again to return it, then a $45 re-stocking fee plus shipping if I want to exchange it?!?!?! Typical Filipino company sadly.

This company is irredeemable.

I ordered a barong with minimal adjustments on the 20th of April (they advertised 21-25 days to arrive) for my Senior Prom, which is today on the 19th of May. No communication for weeks, so I inquired on the 9th to ask about its status and they still hadn't shipped it.

I was told that they would require at least 7 days minimum, which is beyond May 15th (the 25th day mark) the original, latest date of arrival. I consistently talked to them and received only platitudes and empty apologies. I wasn't given a reason as to why it was delayed, their California office didn't receive my phone calls, and any attempt to contact them took at least 12 hours to be responded to. They only even entertained the prospect of a delivery when I asked for expedition, which costs $68!

I asked for a refund along with a list of my grievances, and in exchange they ghosted me up till today when I just received an email that they just shipped the product. It will arrive on the 25th to the 28th.

i ordered a dress over 3 weeks ago and was wondering where this dress was. after a week of messaging them straight and being fed with lies and excuses, it turns out the dress i was ordering was not even made, nor did they have the materials to make the dress. it would have been okay if they told me a week later but three weeks later and close to the date i need the dress is ridiculous. while their customer service is fast, do NOT trust everything they say because your item may not come in on time...or not even at all because they might not even have the item at the warehouse HA. do not buy from this unreliable company because now i have to find a last minute formal dress which could have been done ages ago.

After over a month, this company still has not delivered my order. It's past the time I needed it. I asked for a refund, to which they responded by saying, 'sorry, we already have the item. When do you need it by?' This company lies and does not take accountability for continuing to quote a delivery timeframe but offer no explanation as to why it hasn't shipped. Do not order from this company. Shame on me for not checking reviews first.

Please stay away from this company. Extremely unprofessional. They claim they do customization, 24/7 customer service… both claims are completely false. Do yourself a big favor and NEVER order for them. My experience with them is frankly unbelievably bad.

I ordered two barongs with custom measurements. I am a larger guy so I was excited that they had custom tailoring. Both barongs were were put unprotected into a plastic bag and stuffed into my mailbox. Neither of the barongs were close to fitting properly and one I do not believe they even attempted to custom fit. They have a 2-day return policy and you have to pay a $30 restocking fee. I decided to eat the $243 I spent with them and try to get the barongs retailored. There is no way I could recommend this business to anyone.

There's no clear information on how long they will take to finish a product. The DHL Express option is expensive and does not do anything with expediting production. Even if you bought from the "pre-made" products (not customized sizing), they will take forever to let you know the status of your order. The only way to know is to email them directly.

With my very first order, if I did not email them to ask the status, I would not know that they overlooked it. Spent to about 10,000 JPY per bolero and 5,000 JPY for the ear cuff.

I risked it again, this time for a kid's barong. I placed my order earlier, knowing that they do take time and only seem to pay attention if you contacted them directly. Checked in 2 weeks after I placed my order only to find out that it's still in process. I told them at the time of my order to let me know if they couldn't make it on the specified date and they only told me after the said check-in. Paid for the DHL Express, only to be told the product will not arrive in time. Spent 9,000 JPY for the barong, plus more than 10,000 JPY for the DHL Express option. The kids barong was worth 20,000 JPY at this point.

Advice to those contemplating to order from BarongWorld.com:
1. Order at your own risk - the process, operation, and customer service are all poor.
2. If you did decide to place an order, make it at least 1 month in advance - this is not mentioned on their website. There's a mention about customized sizes, but again, we ordered from the rack and still, we're told to place an order at least a month in advance.
3. Send an email to their customer service immediately, right after you received the automatic confirmation from their website. This is to somehow lessen the risk of being overlooked.
4. Follow up every week; don't trust that they will be on top of it. If you don't, there's a risk that your order will take more time than (I don't know what's their standard process time, to be honest).
5. The quality vs. the cost and the stress - not worth it. I almost forgot to mention that they missed to sew the design on one of the sleeves of the bolero I ordered. They rushed it.

I'm honestly anxious about the kids barong we ordered. I don't know if it would arrive this month, if it would fit (FYI, I provided all the measurements required on top of choosing a closest from-the-rack size), and if there would be no damage on the product.

Make sure you order the correct size because getting an exchange will cost you. They charge a $25 restocking fee + $19 shipping.

The date of delivery should be as written within 5 days in the Philippines when paying extra money.
The communication is also not nice, they dont find a solution to solve the problem they only just about to cancel the order and about to send back the money (still waiting to receive the money so lets see)

My barong took more than a month to ship out to me, just a couple of days before I needed it. When it did arrive, the sizing was wrong and not to the specifications I requested. When I asked for a refund I was told that I had to do so within 2 days of the ship date - which was Nov 5. Nevermind that the actual item did not arrive until Nov 9. I am out more than $100 and feel like I have been scammed. Do not trust this company.

First off, I have never given a business a bad review but this business just tried scamming me. I ordered a barong and paid for expedited shipping which promised me (1-2 business days) for an additional $40.

I noticed my item never shipped so I reached out to the company. They showed me a few other options that they had available and I happened to choose one that was $40 more expensive. They wanted me to spend $90 on a barong + $40expeditdd fee( which was never delivered ) + the difference for the new item.

They have bad customer service and scamming people

Avoid!
Initial delivery of order arrived ok and within 7 business days. HOWEVER was short delivered on a few items including the Alampay for the 3 piece Isabela set (which is a significant piece of the set). The delay wasn't even advised until I enquired with them on email. So then I was told the other remaining items would be dispatched later that week as a 2nd delivery. So Then I had received that 2nd delivery of some items (2x boleros only), but still waiting on the Alampay and another item from a different set.
Timings: Received the initial delivery 1st Aug and reported the issue straight away. Been chasing for redelivery update or refund process since then. Last heard from their support team 16th Aug. On 24th Aug, still nothing received and getting no more responses!

I don't normally put negative reviews but I feel I have given alot of opportunity and reasonable time for them to resolve.
I also wrote a review via their review email they provided with a judgeme link. Several days later my review still isn't showing. They seem to only approve 5 star reviews..
28th Aug and still no word from them about resolving.
Additionally, I haven't been given an invitation to give a review of the other incomplete item I'm still waiting on. They probably wouldn't post it up anyway.
Overall, Very disappointed and frankly annoyed especially with the loss of money from an incomplete order. I don't recommend this company for your Barong and traditional Filipino merchandise.
Companies can make mistakes ofcourse and when they resolve or attempt to rectify it then that's fine and acceptable. Disappearing and unresponsiveness is inexcusable for a business to be towards a customer they have wronged.

I'm going to write a review in as many places as possible because I want people to know how barong world treat their customers. We ordered a barong 6 wks before our wedding day and paid for express delivery, just to be safe. The barong arrived 8 hrs before our wedding after calling daily for 2 weeks. The barong was about 10 sizes too small and didn't have any measurements on it.
They ruined our wedding day and refuse to refund us. Do not use barong world.
