A review of the ice bath, it leaked water, and getting it refunded was difficult and complicated. There were also some minor issues, like the screws rusting almost immediately where the sign was attached. Otherwise, it’s a nice tub.

Just finished building our 6 person barrel sauna that was delivered to our home in France. Impressive quality of the wood and materials right down to the screws. Relatively straight forward to build. Unloading the delivery takes some muscle power and so best to have a few friends on call. In our instance the very friendly driver helped us. Thanks! The service from baltresto was top notch from the moment of the initial order to the organisation of the delivery date. I highly recommend this company.

Haven’t even built the sauna yet but delivery was a nightmare. You are asked to chose your sauna on the website by length, If you chose under 2.1m it can be delivered on a tail lift truck according to to their delivery script. Once you have paid, they tell you must nominate an address capable of artic delivery with unloading facilities as they cannot guarantee tail end truck.Several days later you are told you have 4 hours to apply to the government website, obtain an importer licence number and pay your customs fees ( 20%+ of your purchase price) + ironically a fee for the company sorting your customs duty. Having obtained an email from the company guaranteeing a crane delivery truck we have a side curtain truck arrive with a double conjoined palate that is too large/ heavy for the tail lift . This has to be dissembled on the truck and off loaded piecemeal . When I complain to the company I am told that I requested that the driver did not use the reared load facility. This was somewhat of a surprise to me given the fact that I had had a GA for cancer investigations 24 hr previously and had to pay neighbouring workmen the best part of £100 to dissemble the crate and unload the truck. Given the weather in the southwest I have not begun assembly yet but not hopeful given experience so far. Do not order unless you live in a 100m square of concrete with your own forklifts and sadly put no value on emails from the company guaranteeing your delivery arrangements

To summarize the situation for anyone reading this review : we purchased a sauna from Baltresto, installed it before a Breton coastal winter. Within a few months, we experienced water infiltration, white mold growing inside, and a door that no longer opens or closes properly.

In response, Baltresto is now attributing everything to "incorrect assembly" — a convenient way to avoid all responsibility.

Let's be clear :
1. Our assembly team included professionals experienced in wooden structure construction. We were 4 people over 4 days, far beyond the single-person job your own documentation describes. If professionals working in a team couldn't follow your instructions correctly, the instructions are the problem.

2. At no point — not in the documentation, not during the sales process, not after delivery — were we informed that any specific treatment or product needed to be applied after assembly, especially before winter in a humid climate. You cannot blame a customer for not following guidance that was never given.

Baltresto's response deflects every issue onto the buyer : the delivery conditions are the carrier's fault, the damage is the customer's fault. No accountability is taken for the lack of climate-specific guidance, the misleading assembly instructions, or the poor after-sales support.

I remain open to a genuine resolution and will update this review accordingly. But as it stands, I cannot recommend this company to anyone, particularly in humid regions.

Our experience with this sauna and the manufacturer was extremely disappointing.

The product was delivered non-conforming to what was ordered and paid for. We ordered a mirrored glass front wall with a mirrored door, but received a clear glass wall combined with a mirrored door, creating an odd hybrid appearance that we would never have selected. This indicates a serious lack of final inspection and quality control.

Several wooden panels were warped along their length, making correct assembly according to the manufacturer’s own instructions technically impossible. We were forced to improvise and seal gaps with professional adhesive just to make the sauna usable. For a premium product, this is unacceptable.

Heating performance also does not match the stated specifications. Reaching 80 °C takes nearly two hours, although the heater is advertised to reach this temperature in 45–60 minutes.

Delivery was another serious problem. Despite paying for delivery to our home address, the sauna was left approximately 4 km away, and we had to arrange and pay for additional transport ourselves.

Customer service made the situation worse. Communication was unprofessional and dismissive, addressing only minor points while ignoring the most important issues and shifting responsibility to the customer. Clear guarantees or accountability were missing.

To be fair, after prolonged correspondence the company refunded €1,100 for the incorrect front wall. However, this does not resolve the broader quality, delivery, and service problems.

Summary of issues:
• Incorrect components delivered
• Warped materials affecting assembly and performance
• Delivery not completed to the agreed address
• Poor and unprofessional customer handling

Overall, this experience falls far below what we expect from a company presenting itself as a serious sauna manufacturer. Based on both product quality and customer support, we cannot recommend this company.

Our reply to your reply:

As soon as we noticed that the delivered components did not match the order, we informed you immediately. We then waited three weeks for your response — regardless of the Christmas holidays.

We also reported the defective elements right away — the warped wooden panels forming the sauna shell.
The panels were bent. Properly dried wood does not warp in this way; such deformation usually occurs only when wood has been stored incorrectly for a long period. You never explained why the panels were warped, which ultimately resulted in a very poor roof finish that we had to repair ourselves using professional marine-grade adhesive.

You claim that an inspection was carried out before shipping our sauna, but we do not believe this to be true, because these issues would not have occurred if the inspection had actually been performed properly.

In your response, you mentioned the heater as the cause of the slow heating. However, we already explained that the warped panels caused poor sealing of the sauna structure. There is nothing wrong with the heater — it works perfectly, and it is obvious that you did not manufacture it yourselves, as it functions flawlessly.

Furthermore, your response to all the problems you caused was simply:
“Disassemble the sauna and send it back to us so we can assess whether the issues are really as serious as you claim.”
This is completely unacceptable.

To anyone reading this: we do not recommend purchasing a sauna from Balresto. Based on other reviews as well, it appears to be a real lottery — sometimes everything is fine, other times many things are seriously wrong. And when things do go wrong, you can expect significant trouble, a great deal of frustration, a poorly manufactured sauna, and very weak customer support from their side.

We went down the rabbit hole of 'research' (ie google) and finally took a deep breath and went with Baltresto. And they did everything and more that they promised! Only thing is, they sent too many staves for the wooden hot tub and we wondered if we were putting it together properly. In the end we used the extras to make some steps. We are in Portugal and followed the delivery all the way to our bit of land. What a grand team!

We bought a Nordic tub at Baltresto, it took about a month to get to us in France (went faster than the advertised delivery time).
The support was very helpful with my questions and accommodating. We've been enjoying it for 2 months now in the winter and it's great! Great value for this price point. Would recommend 100%

Bought an outdoor electric sauna for 4 people and a cold plunge pool. We dealt with Oksana who was excellent and helped us throughout the order process. We’re based in Ireland so it was great to deal with Oksana who helped us with all of the arrangements and logistics.

The sauna arrived on two pallets and the plunge pool on another pallet. Everything was perfect with zero damage. The product itself is superb quality and really well made. Assembly took a day for two people and it’s really a game changer.

The Icon 125 (thermowood) sauna is beautiful, heats up quickly and with a few pair of hands ,is quickly assembled. It fits the family (4pc) and with the panoramic front has a beautiful relaxing view of the garden. If the wood surround for the panoramic front matched the thermo wood ,it would be amazing. We have treated benches with Supi Lattiaoljy oil (parafin oil) and the outside with Osmo oil (natural oils) which gives the thermowood a beautiful rich Pitch pine finish. We have stained the outside surround to match. I initially thought of building an indoor sauna in our garage , but after pricing kiln dried wood ,benches & door I could not build it cheaper (and would have involved lots of labour & time) This sauna is a feature in our garden tucked under the branches of an old baytree. Thanks for everything.
