My baby girl is going to be here soon and my fiancé has been super patient with me. I think this is a very good article to read for new dads it gave me a better understanding on what to expect.

Couldn't be more grateful

I rarely level reviews, but had to do it for BabyCentre as a thank you for the help their newsletter and app has been ever since I conceived. I especially felt compelled to review them since they did all these for free, which is hard to find today as most have become moneyminded. I discovered this app when I was pregnant for my now almost 8 years old, and it was the parenting manual that every child ought to be born with 🙂. As an orphan, and no female(or even male) figure to guide me, this app guided me on a weekly basis during pregnancy, and on a monthly basis since birth, on what is happening now in my life, and that of my baby. Forever grateful 💕

The parent company sucks!

Starts from the top. Every day health-Unethical. They praise people to keep them around-then throw them out the window. Toxic like the bad reviews on the baby app. Stay away.

Toxic group forum

I literally had to delete this app because it is full of dysfunctional “adults”. It is scary to think they are raising the next generation. It will be negative for your mental health and I do not recommend you use it if you are a normal human being. Unless your husband is cheating on you or you want to have a secret abortion during a separation from your husband (stories I read on there that gave me nightmares), stay far far away from it!

Group “regulars” continually violate…

Group “regulars” continually violate terms of service but never seem to get their accounts suspended. I’ve never seen the level of out right verbal abuse/ name calling displayed be allowed on any other platform. I’m genuinely sad some of these posters are grown adults with children. If they act even a fraction of what they act online I’d say their kids don’t have a very good home life nor good adult examples.

Very useful newsletter

I find weekly email newsletter with statistics and recommendations of what to expect from child development on that specific week really helpful. Many thanks!

If I could give zero stars I would

If I could give zero stars I would. Don’t get involved in the boards especially debates and discussions, there’s a clique, if you have a different opinion admin/moderators will block you and delete your profile. If you’re looking for advise on natural childbirth or breastfeeding you won’t get it there, it’s frowned upon, bunch of bigots and racists women with nothing better to do with their time then collect ndis and bully other mums. Needs to be shut down.

It's so negative post pardum

The all is easy to use while pregnant but becomes a negative ad filled mess post pardum. The week by week tracker articles are poorly written and end with something negative for example my baby is 4 months and the reading about milestones and stuff starts off great then at the end of says what are signs of pinkeye? Why? My baby doesn't have pink eye or pink eye isn't a milestone why not put that somewhere else in the app like a common illnesses or a finder for someone looking for it? It's a negative ending to each week which leaves users with a bad feeling afterwards. I don't feel happy after using the app. I always look to other baby apps to shine a positive light to the weekly milestone because this one sucks at it. Look at "what to expect" they way they do it is much better all negative parts are to the side.

I have to concur with all the negative…

I have to concur with all the negative reviews. It starts off all suportive when we are going through our pregnancies, we all sent well wishes to the women struggling with loss and pregnancy symptoms but once we pushed out our babies, the Karens became activated. They bullied women struggling with post natal depression and those considering weaning slightly earlier, they were literally mocking people who were seeking advice. I remember one woman was struggling with single motherhood with a new born so bad she struggled to bathe for days at a time and the Karens mocked her. She seemed by her post like she was suffering from PND and these wenches actually mocked her struggle. I had to stop logging on because of it and the mods deleted my comments that were sticking up for the victims. The mods are awful and do nothing to help the victims, making it a toxic environment. Good concept, poorly executed and not regulated. It was so bad that I tried to complain to baby centre and they just fobbed me off, excusing the mods behaviour and explaining they were unpaid volunteers and yada yada yada. Its a shame this app is recomended by people within the NHS. One day they could possibly push a struggling mother over the edge and it will be a shame. The safest bet is to join during pregnancy and leave about a month or 2 after birth.

Posted over here because this is the claimed profile. Do better babycentre

Cyberbullying and Harassment

Should have checked the reviews on here, Reddit, and another site before joining the community. If you're on the younger side and not with the man who got you pregnant, expect to be ridiculed/told you're baby trapping. If you're a victim of abuse they will probably speculate on if it actually happened and then accuse you of lying/being the abuser. They will twist and misinterpret everything you say to fit their narrative. I was told everything from Im trying to pregnancy trap a man that I no longer talk to, to Im faking being pregnant, Im not pregnant and the baby doesnt exist, suggesting that I seek therapy because Im delusional, speculating on if I actually had medical problems, being mocked because I said I genuinely feared for my safety, and worse. There was some genuinely helpful advice that reassured me I made the right choice by not having him involved in the pregnancy, someone even suggested getting my progesterone checked, but they were few and far between. Admins never did anything, it was terrifying because it was like half of the birth board dogpiled on once I said they were being rude/condescending. Even when I stopped replying the post shot up to 135+ comments and 15+ pages of harassment and literal cyberbullying. I wouldnt be surprised if this type of behavior literally pushed someone to suicide or self harm because it is vile, the site doesn't seem to care bc apparently this has been an issue since its been created basically? At the same time its really pathetic that there's actually grown women who dedicate their entire day to log on and harass/bully people who are pregnant or are trying to get pregnant...on a pregnancy and parenting forum. If you're looking for support this isn't it, you'll find better communities on Reddit. I only had my account for 2 days before deactivating it.

Bullying and ganged upon

When I was pregnant with my first back in 2019, my gp advised babycentre would be great for me as I suffer with anxiety and it has a lot of information. So I made an account and I realised they have a community section, the very first thread I made came with nothing but criticism and bullying but all at once! There was atleast 50 comments on the thread within minutes!! These mothers must not be looking after their children and not working becuase how do they have so much time to sit on their phone and bully people. I don't know how the site is still going but the best thing I did for my mental health was to come off it immediately. Stay away.

I can't access my data anymore

I downloaded the uk version of the app, without even noticing it because my phone was in English. At the middle of my pregnancy, I changed phone and by default the language was in Portuguese. I could not log in into my account anymore and lost all the pics and data I had added to my account 😤
When I contacted the costumer support, they said I had to switch the language of my phone and my adress in the google play app to be able to download the uk version of the app to get acess to my data, seriously?! I never lived in the uk, how come for some reason now i cannot access my account? It is ridiculous. They didn't give any solution. Terrible app.

I wouldn’t even give them a star

I wouldn’t even give them a star. I thought I was the only one but I agree with a lot of the people in these reviews. I’ve just had my account disabled for simply disagreeing with an opinion with one of the group admins because I uploaded a photo into my continuing thread and was rudely interrupted by this Krissie who stated I had to upload that photo into another group ( which didn’t make sense because I wasn’t uploading it for anyone’s opinion, and it was purely because i was discussing frer with someone and thought I’d upload it ) and also it would be nice for other people to stalk etc. Krissie deleted it! I looked back on the group and see she hadn’t deleted anyone else’s!! Anyway, I’ve come back tonight to see my accounts been disabled!
Krissie if you’re reading this...

GO and get some d*ck that you soo clearly need!

AGREE WITH ALL NEGATIVE COMMENTS HERE

Everyone's right. You have members that have been on babycentre for years and years and you will not receive support depending on the board. I have to say my own birth board has been lovely but any board outside that is vile. It's almost as if the women who've been on BC for years have formed a clique and anyone who thinks different or goes against one of the members has to face the wrath of everyone in that clique. You'll be penalised for thinking different at BC. New mums should definitely avoid it!!!

Find someplace else... trust me

I have been involved with babycenter for most of my adult life, including being a group owner of 3 birth groups. It went from being a place to support one another through rough times and a distraction from the rough times, to an anti Christianity, anti LEO, anti military, anti white, anti men, anti America group, where the only things allowed are socialist, racist, hate filled comments. If someone dares to tell people that judging everyone who is one race, based on the race alone is racist, their comments will be deleted. They won't be deleted by group owners, but by the people who run and moderate baby center. And don't get me started on anyone stating factual evidence of anything. If it isn't socialist approved, it will be deleted as false information. I will never again be associated with this group of hate mongers. The whole group has become focused, instead of on parents and parents to be coming together from many different cultures and beliefs, to socialist politically focused.

Babycenter is the worst website out…

Babycenter is the worst website out there, if you go on Bargain Hunters you will be bullied, called names, and even have people laughing at your comments. If you continue to post the woman on there will stalk you, and comment on your other posts to try deflect the conversation. They are vile, bullies who think they own the website, they need to be taken out. If you're conservative don't even bother, they are racists, the alt-left, and they are also for Marxism. They even brag about belittling children that they are supposed to teach if the kid speaks out against what they believe in, they feel that they need to re-educate your child. This is what they brag about, and many other digusting things. Don't waste your time, go to a real supportive website, because babycenter isn't it!

Don't go on babycenter

Don't go on babycenter. Just don't waste your time. The site is great and a lot of the community is wonderful. BUT the group owners, admins, moderators, they love to completely overtake your posts, bully and attack women who just have questions and are looking for support. If your post and everything that you say doesn't match exactly to their standards, you get banned or your post gets closed or your comments removed. They are just plain mean to the women on there.
