I have been renewing with Babbel year and decided to buy the lifetime membership instead when it renewed fro 2026. Customer support told me they would not give me a refund but only a voucher. Why they don't recommend to add the payment to the lifetime package with what I already paid? Greed.
I will not be using this service again. I will not recommend this service either. Scammers.
Their only option is for me to spend more money, then give me a voucher to for what I already paid if I buy lifetime access. What good with a voucher do for me if I get lifetime access? No, I don't want to give it as a gift. I want my money back or given money towards the lifetime plan.

I decided to give Babbel lifetime a go as I was impressed the the amount I would be saving by taking them up on their offer. I was concerned that I still had a few months left on my original plan but on speaking to one of the representatives of the the company, Miguel, he offered me a voucher for the remaining months left and I could gift this to anyone I like. As my daughter is also learning French for work I sent the voucher number over to her. She said it was very easy to use. I’m very impressed with the company as a whole which is why I have given them this rating.

It is truly irritating when you want to find out what the cost of this product is and the website asks for your personal information. The website does not allow to review pricing without asking for your name and email address

I really like the podcasts! More please! I listen to them constantly to try and get a more realistic flow of conversation

Easy app to navigate. Lessons are informative and i do enjoy the local tips and different uses of words in different countries (I'm learning Latin American Spanish). Lessons are playful enough through different dialogues but still focus on applying the grammatical rules of the language.

I like the teaching methodology. The only thing I miss is the ability to give feedback on possible errors just in time. That is, as with Duolingo, being able to send a message reporting problems at the moment you are doing the exercises. In other words, reporting any error related to the exercise you are doing.

Well, this is the only language learning app that works for me, and I tried a bunch of them. The grammar explanations are streetwise not useless school classroom nonsence. Courses are moving quickly, but not too fast. Just enough for brain to acquire everything from lessons. They don't teach you same 10 words for a whole week and waste your time like in other apps. You learn a lot more words in a week, without forgeting. Perfect for foundation. When you finish all the courses, then you will have quite the solid foundation to use LingQ for getting to fluency. The only two things I would like to see are more languages added and all of them to have courses to C1 level.

The curriculum seems to stop at the intermediate level. How can I take my learning to the next higher level?

An enjoyable process with a good variety of topics. I am not so sure about the need to spell out words, which can be a little pedantic.

What is good are the bite-size chunks of learning and appropriate level of repetition so that the learnings sink in.
What would be helpful are as follows
1. A referencing index to make revision or follow-up specific items easier.
2. More conversation with correction of any errors by the speaker.
3. The grammar section needs development and expansion.

The courses are insightful, and the subscription is pocket-friendly

The platform is good, but the online advertising features Asian and eastern European languages that Babbel doesn't actually offer.
The language module is very easy to follow. I am Learning very quickly.

I was already dissatisfied because I had a call when they interrupted the service babbel now, and the product manager suggested she will send me an offer to have a discount and the possibility to keep learning with my teacher and to Get live sessions. I never got an offer.
On top of that they sent me voucher offers to try their intensive courses in 2025 and these would never work... I contacted many times they did not support on that..
Now the craziest thing I have been requesting the invoice for the payment I made for "babbel now" in 2024 and this is the response from the customer service.
"Thanks for your message.
In this case please contact your company admin for Babbel, they will be able to assist you further with your request."
I bought the offer from my own pocket, I am not sure which bug they had experienced but I spent more than 600 euro from my pocket and I would love an invoice on my name to declare taxes before the deadline in a few days. Ticket #10142898

After 6 month of daily use to learn a new language from scratch:
I really like Babbel! Even with limited time, I can still study efficiently, and I actually enjoy doing it.
In addition to the learning nuggets (lessons), there are so many options to learn the way you want to. Even when I'm having a rough day and can't seem to focus on studying, I find a short exercise that still works for me and helps me make progress.
The only thing I'd like to see improved are the grammar guides. I miss some of the things that are included in the lessons.

Very good structure of content! Excellent podcasts. Interesting AI functionalities that allow to practise speaking. Overall, a really good package, which I have used to freshen up language skills as well as to learn a new language.
