1/5 – I wish I could give zero stars, I have never seen such backpedaling
This is a warning to all who will buy:
“The sales and technical teams do not know their own products. I run a freelance construction business and ordered one gas mask initially to test before placing a larger order. If it were not for the distributor Romar, I would not have even been able to get the correct product — I had to send Romar screenshots from YouTube just to explain what I was trying to buy.
I was told the PC50 stock was held in the UK. This was not true. There was no stock, and I had to wait months for it to arrive from the USA.
When I finally received the twin-port mask, it whistled loudly on strong inhalation when using two filters. I provided clear video evidence showing the issue.
I was then told the mask would be replaced and that return postage would be covered. This did not happen. No prepaid return label was sent, and I had to pay return postage myself.
After I returned the mask, Avon Protection claimed it had not been received, despite the courier confirming delivery. Only after I provided Evri proof of delivery did they stop denying receipt.
They then claimed the mask had been ‘tested’ but provided no details of what tests were carried out and still did not send a replacement as originally agreed.
If it were not for the distributor Romar, Avon Protection would have completely ignored me — big thanks to Romar for responding and chasing Avon to get back to me.
This is PPE, not a costume. Due to the dishonesty and incompetence shown, I am now pursuing a full refund through my bank and will be reporting this matter to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS), and Trading Standards.”
