I downloaded this product and it has been jamming up my computer ever since.
I tried to get a refund but their website just goes round in circles. Eventually I called PayPal through whom I had paid and they r3efunded and blocked future payments.

AVG took my payment in advance for my next years subscription which I dont want. Getting a refund is very difficult.

Utter waste of time. Decided to try their VPN as out of country over Xmas and wanted to watch football. Never worked. Sky app knew phone was outside UK even though VPN was activated. Also, tried to do the UK national lottery online whilst in France, again, National lottery knew I was outside UK.
Thankfully, this was a free trial else I would have been annoyed I would have wasted £25. Don’t waste your time or money. They don’t do what they claim.

Avg knows how to take money, but there is now way how to contact them, neither by chat or by phone, there software crashed my computers all the time, I had to remove them, I'm trying to cancel the subscriptions and their is no way how to do this, please AVOID AVG!
Today after writing the negative review we had contact and AVG is now refunding me, Thank You.

My cc failed to renew AVG and my computer stopped updating any apps or software, slowed down to a crawl, refused to open certain websites, unable to use MST virus tools, lost my tray items and computer generally went dumb. I remember when I installed AVG I thought it was very intrusive, now I am seeing the loss of my computer capability worse than before installing AVG. BTW, weren't you in Hungary? Did I get a scam version of AVG???

I used these a lot. But all they want to do is rinse money from you. I've been a customer for some time. I'm currently looking for a new package.

Despite selecting the option NOT to auto renew on my account, the payment did get taken and auto renew. I then followed the process laid out on their website to cancel and request a refund well within the required timeframe. I did not get a refund. I made several more enquiries as to what had happened to my request and refund, but have never been contacted. Absolutely appalling complete lack of customer service. You get given an enquiry number but IT DOESN'T MATTER BECAUSE THEY IGNORE YOU ANYWAY.

What can i say but its GREAT, has been for years.

Problems Renewing AVG Security Software Subscription

AVG Security software protects my system well, but in my recent experience, the process of renewing an AVG subscription is fraught and broken. AVG please note and fix your renewal process.

A sad tale of AVG renewal

Existing subscription expires 24 Dec 2023, ULTIMATE (4 modules), 10 Device
Costs listed on line about £80 for new subscriptions, about £110 for existing customers
No reminders received; no on-line renewal found
5 Dec 2023 Rang customer services, negotiated and paid loyal customer price of £83.99
6 Dec 2023 my AVG account (desktop) shows payment due 19 Nov 2024 (one module expiry 24 Dec 2024)
9 Dec 2023 Rang Customer services to ask why I had lost a month. Apparently, I had been moved to Auto Subscription Renewal and 19 Nov 2024 is the next payment date (expiry 24 Dec 2024). I have noted that auto-renewal adds additional technical support if my system is infected or hacked.
12 Dec 2023 Phones show payment date 19 Nov 2024 for all 4 modules
13 Dec 2023 Phones show just AVG Free. Existing and renewed subscriptions both lost. Why?
19 Dec 2023 Upgraded on two phones using activation key. Both now show next payment 19 Nov 2024.
My account still shows subscription only active on 2 systems (from 10). Desktop plus 2 phones makes 3. Tablet still to be upgraded.

If my experience is typical, the AVG Subscription Renewal is a nightmare.
a) Loyal customers are penalised financially
b) Subscriptions are lost, reverting devices to AVG Free
c) AVG account shows next payment date but not expiry date
d) The note says payment is a few days before the expiry date. It’s 35 days before expiry.
e) I did not request or authorise auto-renewal
f) I can find no way of cancelling auto-renewal, unsubscribe appears to remove AVG products.
g) AVG account identifies which card AVG hold, I can change but not remove my card.
h) I did not authorise AVG to hold my card details
i) VPN drops out very frequently and I seem to be missing most features advertised on the AVG Ultimate page (With AVG Ultimate, you also get …).

URGENT FIXES NEEDED BY AVG
Make reminders and renewals prominent in My Account
Show the correct expiry date as well as payment date
Fix the problem of vanishing subscriptions
Allow customers to remove bank card details and revert to manual renewal
Treat loyal customers the same as new customers: In the UK, FCA/CMA legally require insurance companies to treat customers equally.

A “False Scam” from AVG?
I did have renewal invites in June this year. “AVG VIP early renewal, 1 device, 2 years, £86 discount, BUY NOW” appeared in an AVG style unsolicited pop-up. Wrong product, wrong renewal date, price too good to be true, pressure to buy immediately. SCAM ALERT. It was very difficult to discuss this with AVG or the FORUM to check out this “offer” which appeared for about 2 months. One suggestion was to use My AVG Account decline offers from AVG and I have not seen the pop-up since. I still get offers but only when I sign in to my account (no unsolicited pop-ups). I have no idea if the pop-up was genuine. I have not heard of “False Scams” before, maybe this was an example?

I never believed it for the first time, having used several anti virus apps and creating a lot of problems for my phone. If it were not draining of battery it will be slowing down of the phone. But when I started using AVG all those problems are now thing of the past. It's good and I recommend to all.

Really good tool for your pc/laptop's security. Always see good experiences and and using it for more than 5 of my devices. Amazing.......

Best antivirus any ever, have been a paid user for years and today I renewed subscription. Any time I need any help regarding placing orders, checking my devices for infection or whatever technical problems I can always apply for online help and they always provide me with professional assistance in a very friendly manner. Back in the years while I had other antiviruses my vault was full of viruses, I was not fully protected but AVG is protecting me. Highly recommended.

I did have Total AV and got very fed up of every little thing having to pay for upgrades.

My computer was a total mess loads of applications open slowing the computer down and to top it off my game need for speed most wanted would not even load and nearly had a melt down to complain to the software company.

Then I paid for and downloaded AVG anti virus and the tune up cost around £36.00 which would seem a lot of money ,not at all.

As soon as all scans had been completed the game played smoothly and graphics card cleaned up .

My computer now runs like new and love the visibility of things truly working .

You get what you pay for within a reasonable budget.

Effective customer support and service, refund after 2 days when automatic payment went through from my account by a mistake. Thanks Avg 👌!!

Very good stuff with intuitive UI, good design and easy to use. I use the free version and I serve me very well. I think in future I will switch to a premium version.

AVG customer support also is quite good. They solve problems quite quickly.

AVG is a good company with good products. I would recommend it to anyone.
