I have spent the last two years trying to contact AutoStar and get answers about what happened during the transport of my vehicle that resulted in a total loss in September of 2024. Every insurance claim I've filed has been denied. To date, I have not been paid a single penny for the damages, nor for the tow fee to re-take possession of my vehicle after the crash. It's become clear to me after painstaking research that there is rampant fraud at play in the commercial trucking industry from brokers, to carriers, to insurers. Businesses like AutoStar should honor their mistakes in instances where their oversight has slipped, a carrier has clearly violated a contract, or when an insurance company is using a 3rd party administrator with deceptive business practices...all of which is what happened to me.
Summary of Events
Sept 13, 2024: I enter into a binding contract with AutoStar to transport my vehicle from Nashville, TN to Portland, OR. AutoStar contractually assigns the load to Ozark Transport LLC. AutoStar's own terms explicitly prohibit unauthorized sub-contracting or interlining.
Sept 16, 2024: Authorized driver Alejandro Suarez takes custody of the vehicle. At the time, I was unaware that this driver was NOT the listed driver on the COI that AutoStar had on file (effectively rendering any cargo in transit at risk and legally unprotected).
Sept 17, 2025: I receive a call from an unknown number telling me they are en route to pick up my vehicle. I immediately alerted AutoStar representative Frank Navas via text to flag this tracking disconnect. Frank confirms he is unaware of who currently has possession of my car. AutoStar ultimately fails to intervene or secure the asset.
Sometime between September 17 - September 21: The vehicle is illegally transferred mid-route to an un-vetted driver, Barbaro Luis Fuentes Quesada. This happens without my consent or knowledge.
Sept 21, 2024: The driver loses control of the truck, flipping the trailer and taking out 400 feet of guardrail. All cargo severely damaged.
Sept 22, 2024: I reach out to Alejandro multiple times for an update on my car and get no response (at this time I was unaware that there had been an accident).
Sept 23, 2024: In the morning I reach out to Frank from AutoStar demanding an update. He and his customer service team assure me that they have been in contact with the driver, the vehicle is safe, and it will be arriving at 3:00 PM that day—a full 48 hours after the trailer had already flipped in Oregon.
Oct 2024 – March 2025: Multiple cargo and liability insurers listed on the COI for Ozark Transport LLC deny my claim because the vehicle was transferred away from the contracted carrier without authorization, completely voiding primary policy protections. The Progressive Insurance policy listed for the driver involved in the accident also deny my claim because the truck and driver were unlisted on the policy at the time of the accident.
April – July 2025: Simple, direct public record research revealed that the assigned carrier (Ozark Transport LLC) and the crash carrier (Sol & Sosa LLC) share common control, principal names, and the exact business addresses in both Texas and Florida.
October 2024 - Present: AutoStar structurally ceases all communication, fails to provide any administrative aid or insurance tracking resolution, allowing my vehicle to be abandoned at a highway tow yard, and forcing me to pay an additional nearly $600 to retrieve it.
I am nearly two years into trying to recoup the cost of damages. There has been zero help from AutoStar and they have taken no accountability for the negligence on behalf of their representative Frank Navas, their dispatch service, and the contracted carrier who illegally transferred my vehicle and is now out of business. At this time, my only recourse is a lawsuit. I'm hoping that someone from AutoStar reads this and gets in contact with me to make it right. But I just wanted to share my experience so other people know that these things happen even though they shouldn't.
I had a great experience shipping my new car from North Carolina to California. Car was picked up at dealership within the promised time-window and delivered to my front door. Communications were clear, paperwork was delivered promptly by email, and I never had to wait very long for a callback in the rare instances when phone calls were not picked up immediately. All told, the service was professional and 100 percent as promised.

AutoStar picked up our Lexus in Kentucky and delivered it to Florida in just a few days. At every point, they were professional and responsible. A flight cancellation delayed our return by one day. Everyone understood and handled our tracking questions seamlessly. Thank you for a great job at a competitive price.

Think twice before hiring Austar. We moved from Puerto Rico to Texas and requested a quote in February. The price they quoted initially doubled by the time of service. They promised delivery by May 26, but our car didn’t arrive until June 5. Customer service was unhelpful and often couldn’t tell me where the car was. After the car was loaded they demanded an extra $700 for “rising fuel costs” — more than double the amount originally quoted for ground transport and not justified by any fuel calculation they provided. We agreed to pay to speed things up, but the car still arrived seven days later than promised. Overall, poor communication, unexpected charges, and missed delivery dates — I cannot recommend them.

Very good quote right away for my GMC truck long bed that needed to be transported. Had tight window to pick up vehicle and with the 5 day window I did not know about I had to have pickup done without my presence. Steve found a driver and we were able to have vehicle picked up remotely. Transporter was great and delivered in less than 1 day from GA to AL.

While I will say getting a quote was easy and the price was fair, once I made the down payment, the commitment level fell off the charts.
There was a 5 day window available to transport my car 5 hrs and the representative I was working with assured me multiple times my car would deliver by the time it was needed, including still the morning of the last day it was supposed to arrive.
It wasn’t until we got to the mid-day point of the 5th day (last day delivery could be expected) when I politely, yet pointedly, asked if they would still get my car delivered by the end of the day … and then got a message saying “nothing yet” and that there are no guarantees, but I was entitled to a refund.
I was very clear the entire time of the deadline to get my car to me and I even questioned why they didn’t even consult me when they found a driver that cost a little more but guaranteed delivery next day. They just informed me after the fact that the option was on the table for a little more money, but they declined on my behalf and then didn’t follow through with their delivery commitment at all and I lost almost a week waiting.
On the 5th day, mid-day. I did cancel my reservation and went with a competitor of Auto Star that picked up that same day and delivered the next morning for just a tad more money.
I hope my experience was an anomaly and based on other reviews, it very well could have been … but just make sure you understand the fine print of what you are signing up for vs what they verbally assure you of, as the two were not the same during my experience.
Nexus auto transport is who I ended up going with and they did exactly what they said they would for the price agreed upon.

Avoid AutoStar at all costs. Save yourself the stress and headache of dealing with a dishonest company.
I had a $250 credit from a previously canceled booking that they promised in writing would be applied to my new shipment. Eduardo, my coordinator, quoted me an all-inclusive price of $1,950.
However, the driver showed up on a Saturday—when their office is closed—and the paperwork didn't show my credit at all. The driver refused to release my car unless I paid him $1,550 in addition to the $400 + 250$ I had already paid AutoStar upfront.
In total, I ended up paying $2,200 for what was supposed to be a $1,950 job. When I demanded my $250 back, Eduardo suddenly invented a "base price" of $2,200 that appeared nowhere in my signed contract. It is a total bait-and-switch.
They are great at communicating until they have your money; then, they hide behind bad math to keep your deposit.

I used Auto Transport recently to ship my 2018 Chrysler Pacifica from Phoenix, AZ to Alexandria, VA. Tony Salvini was my contact person and he did a great job. Tony kept me in the loop with regular updates about the status of my vehicle along the way. The most important aspect of shipping my van, was what was inside the van, I had my power Permobile wheelchair inside the van as well. I needed the van to arrive on the exact day when I flew into Regan international airport so I could take an uber van to get the van and my wheelchair so that I was able to move about. Had the van not arrived on time, I would not be able to move at all. I am so grateful to Auto Stsr Transport, and Tony Salvini for doing such an amazing job!
