Charged £40 admin fee for canceling insurance despite within 14 day cooling off period AND policy not commencing! Another one !

Used GoCompare to generate a car insurance quote, and selected Autonet as provided a competitive cost. Took the policy out over 2 weeks before the new policy was due to start. 48hrs later received an email asking me to contact them, and was advised that I hadn't shared an additional accident claim correctly - despite this being correctly recorded on GoCompare?. Asked for and an additional £200 increase + £50 + £14.99 admin fee for amending the policy ! I cancelled the policy and was STILL charged £40 "admin fee" despite being within the 14 day cooling off period AND without the policy actually commencing !!. Won't be using again. - See reviews for very similar experiences from others. Let's see if the Financial Ombudsman believes £40 cancellation charge is a "fair" fee. Buyer beware !

Absolute joke of a company

My experience was the same as most on here… Received a cheap quote through a compare site only to be told I have to call up Autonet. They wanted to add £300 extra regarding a claim I had declared…

Went with the next cheapest company (£4 more) and policy went straight through..

The price you see is not what they want!

Having got a quote from a comparison site i cl;icked through to Autonet plus.
I wanted to explore the possibility of making the policy any driver so I made the phone call.
After what seemed like a life time i gave up due to the amount of questions being asked so we reverted back to the original quote.
Went through all the questions that have already been answered on the comparison site again.
The adviser then told me the new price for the insurance which had shot up by 20% for no apparent reason.
I wasted an hour of my life talking to an under trained operative for them to try it on.
I'm sure they have lots of different reasons for when they try and sneak the price up. Time left until the policy is due etc.

A real amateur company with a Dick Turpin side line.

Buyer be aware.

BUYER BEWARE

BUYER BEWARE! They catfish you by cheap quotes on price comparison sites then try and charge you £150 extra for undeclared past claims despite me answering all questions correctly! Including correct no claims duration! AND they do not honour cooling off and charge £25 cancellation charge! AND impossible to get hold off by phone! Constantly on hold

Buyers beware!!!

Buyers beware!!!
There’s no standard 14 day cooling off period with this company.
Took a policy 2 days ago, not starting for another 14 days and when my existing company managed to get me a better quote I tried to cancel as within the 14 days cooling off period abs they said they don’t do that.
Charged me £25.
Total rip off.
UPDATE
Amazing what a bad review on trust pilot does. Just got a call from the complaints dept who have now refunded my £25.
Should never have been charged this in the first place, but thanks

Had insurance with them selves and they ripped me off.

Had insurance with them selves and changed car they wanted £74 + £35 admin fee so nearly £110 for 5 months. Had a quote for 12months and its £200 for the new car. I have already paid £380 for the first 7 months so they are charging £480 for insurance. I asked to cancel and they want £125 to cancel. Rip off.
