Exact same scam. Messaged asking to buy my car very convincingly and tried to get me to buy the CP check from autoexpertzone.co.uk. Copy pasted the reviews from here to the message and no reply after.
07488 898100 number I received the messages from.
AVOID, this is a scam. They kept harassing me with emails and even got abrupt to get the report. Considering all options given to check anything about the car I was selling.
Do not fall for the sob story either, ( oh I have been scammed before and lost a lot of money ...........) its all lies. They asked for my address, luckily I will not give my address out. Please be careful
Contacted by text (no name) wanting me to provide a DD check on a car I was selling. Complete scam. Wanted me to use autoexpertzone. They are based in Assam and Lahore, apparently. There is another company called ‘Auto Expert’ who appear to be legit.
Texted me via SMS disguising as a buyer, likely found my ad / number on Gumtree. Pushed to have a car check on autoexpertzone.co.uk as his "mechanic" told him to trust only that site, he wouldn't accept my paid Autotrader full check. I started getting suspicious, so I checked for reviews, found all the other comments similar to mine. Confronted him about it, radio silence since then.
SCAMMERS !!!
Just trying to sell you an overpriced vehicle check - even when I explained that I already have one that I am happy to share. Keep on messaging trying to talk you into it. Won’t agree to a ‘proper’ in person phone call - insist on text only. DONT get tricked into giving your home address away: UNTIL you have validated whether they need ANYTHING else before you commit. LOSERS - AVOID !!!!!
FRAUD!!! They tried to sell IC report contacting on my AutoTrader listing. It is a scam, don't buy anything from this company.
Text asking about a car for sale. Asks me to get a report from this website. Will not use known providers like HPI or Carfax. Not interested in details of the car's history (I did all the work myself so I have the details on hand and not entered into any online data sources). "buyer" claims to have had bad experience with HPI before and this site was recommended by his mechanic however the domain registry is not even 3 weeks old as I'm writing this...
Messaged earlier asks for a report off this site. Happy to pay full price bla bla bla.
First red flag was when I tried calling and the ring tone wasn't right and they didn't answer. Second is that logical they would just do the check theirselves
Someone try to scam me as well as I am selling car.
Luckily I check and saw scam comment before doing it and answer him
Scam - Autoexpresszone is scam website that collects money by contacting car sellers and asking for them to pay for a check and then there is no further contact from the proposed ‘buyer’
