DO NOT BUY BOOKS!!
Like others mentioned, I also made the mistake of buying an audio book.
In order to buy an audio book... you have to register your card. Immediately after finishing listening to the audio book, I cancelled payment.
HOWEVER, I was unaware they KEEP MY CARD ON FILE. I got an email saying my account was suspended, so. I figured great, at least payments had stopped. Not quite....they kept charging me each month!
I checked my bank statements and I find payments were being taken out each and every month.
At first when complaining I was told they don't do refunds as per their terms and conditions don't allow refunds....however I managed to get my money back as this was in fact a 'breach of their terms and conditions' - literally the opposite they tried to fool me with! smh
if this also happens to you, demand reimbursement !!
Scam
Bought one audiobook but apparently, according to them anyway, I signed up for the FlexPass and was charged an additional month. Cancel this, but they refused to refund that money. Scam.

Absolutely a scam get nothing for the quite monthly charge they set up without reminders sent to your emails. My daughter bout one book for exams ended up paying hundreds with no credits to show. No customer service response when need help. DONT USE!

Cheated into paying for flex membership
I wanted to listen to the Ray Dalio book and tried out audiobookstore. I did the msitake of not checking the reviews ahead of using them unfortunately. I paid for the audiobook and didn't realise that that came with a monthly subscription which ran for a few months on my account without me ever using teh service. When I cancelled an mailed them to askl for reimbopursement custmore service just responded that the flex membership was my choice.....will never use them again. it looks CHEAP but it is not!

Avoid AudiobookSTORE.com at all costs. Their business practices are based on a devious subscription process that take monthly payments from you despite the purchase you made being expressly a one off NO SUBSCRIPTION purchase.
I have just found out that they have been taking payments from me for 5 months without my consent, upon emailing them to query this their response was essentially 'we don't issue refunds'. I'll therefore be requesting a chsrge back from my bank based on fraudulent payments being taken.
Utterly devious company with a terrible customer service department which I'm 90% is just churning out AI responses.
Avoid at all costs, you will get stung.

Beware if you are in Australia
My husband purchased a $150 USD ($235 AUD) gift voucher for my birthday which I was pretty excited about. Unfortunately because I am Australian, not one book I have been interested in so far is licensed for me to listen to in Australia. So disappointing. I have asked on a number of occasions to have the gift voucher recredited but was told that because I had ‘redeemed’ the voucher they wouldn’t return the money. What is the point of selling gift vouchers to countries where the volume of books is so limited? Have not spent any of the credit, such a waste of money. There should be a warning on the website for overseas customers, or at least a list of books that are available instead of finding one, getting to the cart and seeing the notice that it is not available. Just so frustrating! No issues with other audiobook Apps. Buyer beware.
Muddy Flexipass enlistment and monthly payments
I was enlisted on a Flexipass without realizing it... I thought I just bough a book. Consequently the company kept billing med 11$ a month - and I did not notice. It probably said something somewhere that I did not notice, and the company probably have their legal grounds covered. But... it is annoying and an unnecessary way to make costumers discontent.
Rip Off
I found little or no benefit from paying for a monthly membership so I took the steps (as directed) to cancell my membership. Month after month the charges kept coming in spite of numerous attempts to cancel. I think Audiobookstore is a giant rip off.

Take payments for subscription without you signing up for it
Bought an audiobook a year ago. As a one off. I wasn't signing up for a subscription. Realised they signed me up for a subscription without my knowledge and have been taken payments for the last year!
From reviews I can see that loads of other people have had the same issue, so it wasn't a mistake at my end. This is deliberate on their part and they haven't done anything to stop it.
They are not responding to emails or on the live chat.
AVOID!!!

Their system of subscription is sneaky. It's only until you check your account transactions do you realise that you get billed every month. It's underhanded and sly. There should be a confirmation that you want to subscribe after the initial introduction period. They don't, you are automatically subscribed and therefore billed.

I didn’t mean to purchase a membership
I didn’t mean to purchase a membership, only a single book purchase. They refused to cancel my account and continued to take money from my account. Furthermore, the book I purchased was misleading in title.

I absolutely love using audiobooks! The experience has been nothing short of amazing. The customer service is the best I’ve ever encountered—friendly, extremely helpful, and impressively fast.
Every book title I’ve searched for has been available, and purchasing plus downloading onto the app is quick and seamless. The app itself is wonderfully easy to use, reliable, and never fails me.
Overall, this service makes enjoying books effortless and enjoyable. Highly recommended to anyone who values great customer support and a flawless listening experience!

Careful: like many other users I bought one book and they have since been charging me for a subscription that I never signed up to. Cancelling is difficult since their app does not allow it. Hands off!!
Charged for a subscription I never used
I was charged $10 per month for nearly two years for a service I never knowingly subscribed to and never used. I was not clearly informed about any recurring billing and only recently discovered the charges.
I’ve requested a refund now, but this should never have happened in the first place. Very disappointing experience.

Buyer beware! If you purchase any audiobook, you will incur a monthly subscription fee of $11.95. You cannot simply purchase the audiobook & save it on your device.
When you request cancellation & refund, they will offer you a credit for another audiobook. However, if you accept it, you still will be charged the monthly fee. Huh?! I already paid $30.00+ for an audiobook I didn’t even open.
Check out free audiobooks through your public library or buy a paperback which is a much cheaper option!
If you call and leave a message, a human will not reply to your concern. Instead, expect a computer-generated reply. Awful customer service!
I be filing a dispute since I never would have purchased anything on this site if I knew I would be incurring monthly charges.

I purchased an audio book from AudioboolStore's on sale now section and later found it a dollar cheaper on another site, and it was not even on sale. I also cannot play it from their website, it really does pay to shop around

Don’t bother with audio bookstore. There are many other audio book sources that are much much more trustworthy.
Once audiobook store gets your credit card information, and despite your repeated attempts to cancel, they do not. Be sure you’re on good terms with your credit card company and have their pledge that they will fight this with you before you sign up.
Very easy to use
Very easy to use, cheaper than other audiobook plans. I am very happy with the switch and would recommend audiobooks. Also very good selection.

I have purchased over 80 audiobooks from ABS or audiobookstore.com and I have received prompt and courteous customer service by email from Tarah whenever I required assistance or had a question/required clarification. I have the option to download all my titles as MP3 files so I can listen to all my titles on my laptop as well as on Apple & Android Devices. I have also exchanged a few titles with the ABS service: "Don't love what you're reading?" Exchange it! I highly recommend
