I had a truly magical experience at this watercolor retreat near Barcelona, in the beautiful wine country of Vilafranca, Spain. The retreat took place in a stunning villa that provided the perfect setting for creativity and relaxation. Astrid, our teacher, together with Eva, who supported the retreat, were both deeply committed to ensuring we all had a wonderful experience. We were also treated to incredible meals prepared by a private chef, which made the stay even more special. I learned so much from Astrid’s knowledge and guidance over the four days. Everything was thoughtfully planned and beautifully organized to create a truly memorable experience. I would highly recommend this retreat to anyone interested in urban sketching in an inspiring and unforgettable environment.

Great winter escape. I caught the train to Barcelona to join Astrid on her Arr Retreat in March 2026. While it was snowing at home, I've enjoyed sun, palm treed and great company in the beautiful vila Mas els Igols near Barcelona. After learning some watercolour techniques, we've painted different scenes outside. Astrid did a fantastic job coaching each participant and guiding us through through the different scenes we've painted. The whole experience was a great opportunity to prese the pause button, enjoy the moment whilst catching memories with a brush and sketchbook. I highly recommend Astrid and her Retreat/ workshops.

An inspiring watercolor retreat in Barcelona with a warm atmosphere, beautiful surroundings, and plenty of personal attention. Everything is well tailored to your level and needs, allowing you to fully dive into your creativity. The accommodation was excellent and the food was fantastic. Astrid and Eva are wonderful people who really engage with you and adapt to your needs throughout the retreat. I left feeling recharged and inspired—highly recommended!
