There is fine black dust layering the top of the wash basin, the bath ledge and ledge below, the tank, the towel/heater rack. I see that I also reviewed this same problem in December 2025. Plus debris... See more

The sales team at Aster were fantastic. We only dealt with a couple of members of the team, but most notably Sarah Richards was amazing from start to finish. She was always there to help us with any questions at all. She was very honest and open with us. There were times when our mortgage advisor was not very helpful and made many mistakes and there was Sarah ready to pick up the pieces for us. The seller was proving difficult even on the last hurdle and yet again there was Sarah helping us out and making suggestions. Even after we'd moved in, she was still emailing to make sure we were okay.

There are some lovely engineers at Aster and then there are some ignorant and rude engineers that should not be in this role.
The work is of a poor standard and I avoid ever having to call them out.
Timelines are unrealistic and the waiting window for an engineer for an all day appointment is appalling especially when they decide not to turn up or have been called on another job.

It's been lovely to have a new kitchen that's so much fresher and brighter than the old one. The workmen were courteous, friendly and helpful. The only slight problem was that there was a hitch in communication about me needing a slightly later start, but that doesn't affect the fact that I'm delighted with their work.

I have been a aster homeowner for just over a year, the trouble was I decided to buy just as the first lockdown started so there were long delays, but aster staff were brilliant and kept me updated at all times.
There is one thing which was terrible and that's the law firm you recommended, Direction law, they are totally incompetent, never get back to you, not taking your phone calls, breaking promises, terrible with paperwork and allowing the other solicitor to threaten me with loosing this home if I didn't sign the contract right now, I ended up signing 3 month b4 I even moved in

Aster we’re incredibly slow at responding at all contact, and not particularly helpful! Their policies on sales and taking a percentage of the sale fee for selling the house (if they do, which they didn’t for me) when they don’t even do the showing round is ludicrous!
When I was originally shown around that property as a new build I was told I could knock a wall down, if I sought permission from Aster, as it was only a stud wall. After gaining permission my father and I started to take it down only to discover it was the only load-bearing wall in the house! This then cost £1800 to remove safely. Aster say as I didn’t have this in writing from the sales rep they won’t do anything or pay anything! So misleading customers is fine by them! Obviously they can’t be trusted as they will say anything to sell a property and not back it up!
As for what your service charge pays for, your guess is as good as mine! I lived in a shared ownership property for 12 years and saw no evidence of how my service charge was spent!

Everything was done very well saying that didn't have that much direct contact with them.

My mother lived in an Aster property in Pewsey, she passed away in a hospice on the 11th January 2022. I rang Aster before she passed away to explain the situation and to find out what to do about her tenancy, talk about unhelpful, total jobsworth, all I got was a constant lecture on the legal side of the tenancy, all the rules I had to abide by and the most outrageous part of the conversation was if there was any rent owing and my mum couldn't pay in one payment they would charge her a £1.00 a week!! She was terminally ill, she went into the hospice on the 4th January and died on the 11th of January. My family were still reeling from the shock of her illness but Aster are like robots all they care about is money. God forbid you leave a lampshade up or a curtain pole! Everyone else I had to contact were helpful and understanding. The worst housing association I've ever dealt with.

Have had a leak in the flat above me for almost 2 weeks now . The ceiling is soaking wet , the carpet is ruined and a bookcase is in disrepair . The boxing in cotaining a down pipe is beyond repair .
Aster have been contacted by myself several times and from the person above me several times also . It took them a week to send someone around who did next to nothing to investigate the problem . Since then I have contacted them again to no avail for the leak to be rectified .
The leak itself is on the main cold water feed and needs looking at yesterday .
Aster you should hang your heads in shame ( absolutley fuming ) .

We havent even managed to buy our house yet!!
Been given a date 3 times for them to say that there is an issue and we cannot complete. I don't think they even care anymore and dont seem like they are in any rush at all. which is a surprise as you would think they would want the money!!

Reply from Aster Group
Heap of rubbish! Friend is due home with her new born baby, and we have no heating or hot water and they don’t class it as an emergency and won’t come out on the same day to resolve the issue! Awful, awful awful!

Reply from Aster Group
The property was purchased with faulty heating logged by aster 2 months prior to me purchasing the property. A further 3 months on from the purchase and the issue is still unresolved with little information about a resolution. Massively disappointed is an understatement and would advise people avoid using them if you want a service which looks to deal with customer issues in a reasonable lead time.
