They tried to get in touch several times until they finally managed to reach someone who connected them with us. They convinced that person that they were trustworthy. We had a call where they said they really liked our project and planned to buy up to 10% of the supply. They also said they wanted to go through a KYC process.
After that, we started the KYC and paid $600. Then they began saying they needed to verify another team member, which came with an additional cost. They kept making excuses and even tried to twist things around, claiming they decide how the approval process works, etc. It was clearly a scam.
