Would be Zero stars if available...a truly awful experience. Used to pay OK interest rates on easy-access accounts but that all got locked up for years from 2020. Then they magically changed the accounts to 'locked to the end of the loan', lots of extra charges even to withdraw the abysmal returns. The loans are shown upas badly selected and badly managed, mostly in default or lost. Now Azzetz are charging £35 for ISA transfers out - even though they have closed their retail platform. why institutional investors are still involved I have no idea, maybe they have better lawyers?

So-called Quick Access

Tracked back in the previous TrustPilot comments for Assetz. There's a positive comment in Nov 2022. Nothing positive since then. Someone offers as much as a 2* review, everything else since then is 1*. This should tell you something. Withdrawing money even from the so-called **Quick Access** account is on the drip feed. When you attempt to withdraw funds, you're offered 2 buttons, Cancel, or Request Withdrawal. Unfortunately Request Withdrawal is dead. Poor way to treat retail investors. Avoid this company if you're thinking of investing with them

I will be 170 years old before I get my money back!

Like many other people, I was a small retail investor - not an institutional ‘big cat’ like they only deal with now! They do not deal with small investors anymore.

Assetz Capital used Covid as a mechanism for not releasing money back to small investors and 4 years on they continue this practice.

Assetz Capital now only release very small amounts of money back to small investors. They also charge them to take money out.

I am lucky. I only have £243 still invested. But to add scale to this experience, they have only allowed me to take out £3.50 in the past 18 months.

It will now take a further 1250 months - or 105 years for me to get my money back (and that is without an interest).

I am 65. So on my 170th birthday I will have my £243 back.

It would appear that there are many other small investors who are having the same experience.

I have asked Assetz Capital on several occasions to reply and return my money. But to date I have not had a response.

So why don’t the ‘so-called’ financial regulators and ombudsman do something to stop this blatant abuse? Probably because they are in the grips of companies like Assetz Capital. But something needs to be done to stop this clear abuse of the financial system.

Perhaps Stuart Law, Assetz Capital CEO could let all small retail investors, why his company refuses to return their hard earned money….

MY 3RD REVIEW - AND NOTHING HAS CHANGED IN 18 MONTHS!

Shockingly bad treatment of lenders

Shockingly bad treatment of lenders. At the rate they drip-feed MY money back to me I reckon it's going to take another two or three years to pay it down - always assuming they still exist by then.
They owe me £ tens of thousands in IFISA investments and have the bare cheek to charge £35 each time I want to take out the small sums they graciously allow me to have.
God only knows how much I'll have lost when the ship finally sinks. At least they paid decent returns at first but this debacle more than cancels out any earnings.
A terrible outfit.

The spivs and sharks have transitioned…

The spivs and sharks have transitioned over to institutional investors leaving the retail investors high and dry with their money locked in (often in bad loans). After three years, I still have money there while the head spivs have moved away from their P2P past.

Relatively small amount I will never see I guess. Gained overall fortunately got most out as p2p started to fail. Main loss Wellesley segued artfully out of their obligations while remaining in business. Never put money other than FSC guaranteed again

Assetz Capital staff are incompetent and disrespectful!

Utterly despicable the way Assetz Capital treat investors.

They put company into run off and lock money away for years without warning. Funds that were in an access account may or may not ever be seen again.

They don't answer the phone. Refer you to live chat that doesn't exist.

I am left with tens of thousands of pounds trapped in Assetz Capital. I am having to borrow from friends and my house purchase is in jeopardy.

How the Financial Ombudsman can allow such treatment is beyond me.

Huge number of defaulted loans starting to appear confirms terrible underwriting and mis selling as low to medium risk loans.

Please someone deal with this unscrupulous company.

As for any institutional investors or borrowers looking to partner with the 'new' Assetz Capital, you would be off your rocker to do so! Thousands of people have suffered at their hands, and you, too, will pay the price if you decide to do business with these useless, self-serving individuals at Assetz Capital.

Things have changed for the worse

I have previously reviewed AC and given a high score. When interest rates were low, AC offered very high rates. I was happy when the money was coming in.
All that changed with COVID. Suddenly the company was in difficulty. I do understand that it had to close its books and slowly release the money to investors but I am annoyed with the way they treated me. I asked to withdraw my funds at a time when there were no restrictions in place and they failed to act on my instructions. I don't know if that was deliberate. I have no proof but suspect they flouted their own rules. They then decided to freeze people's money and I lost out.
I'm also unhappy with the changes in how we obtain our money. Getting charged a fee of £1 to access the pitiful drip feed of our monthly returns is a joke.
On the plus side, I am still earning interest. However the recent trend in consulting investors on how to deal with bad debtors and people in arrears highlights how many risks this company took with investor's money. I don't think I will ever trust P2P investment companies again.

Avoid

High number of bad loans, which were had no backing/security. And what money they haven't written off and still hold they refuse to release.

Shocking company

Shocking company. From the start it was shady on investments and defaults and in particular how to withdraw funds. Seems likely a scam to pay high directors fees then wind up for individual investors. Should be investigated by Financial Ombudsman for criminal fraud or negligence. Stay away from these people no matter what company they get involved with.

Really letdown investors

Really letdown investors by closing the access accounts and obviously allowing too many default loans. Clearly, they have broken their Promises. When I invested it was clear there was a contingency fund, which has now disappeared. They also impossible to contact on the phone very shockingly poor treatment of investors.

Corruption and exploitation of small investors

Kept my money locked in a cash account - can't access my cash, release tiny amounts and paying hardly any interest, now charging to withdraw the piddly amounts they finally release. They must be making millions on the high interest rates right now with our money. It's corruption in it's purest form and exploitation of small investors. Why doesn't the FCA do something.

The financial regulator should be investigating this company

The financial regulator should be investigating this company, Assetz Capital are crooks - placing my money in a locked cash account for years, charging fees and on top of it charging fees to withdraw the small amounts they finally release. Disgusting behaviour by bosses who run this company exploiting people.
