They are responsive to claims processing and I haven't had a denial yet. I also enjoy being able to pay for my policy on a yearly basis instead of monthly. It is the nature of the beast, but I still d... See more

Terrible website, just automatically denies claims and says documents aren't enough when I've provided everything they ask. Total scam.

Very impressed! My dog had an eye injury and I’m so thankful I had ASPCA Pet insurance. My experience has gone like this: I took my Shih Tzu Rosie to an animal Opthamologist on April 7th and submitted the claim very easily online on April 8th. That claim was completed on April 10th. $0 reimbursed and $403 (total bill amount) went towards the $500 deductible. It went just like it was supposed to. On April 9th Rosie had her eye surgery. I submitted the itemized bill, $1953, online on April 10th. On April 14th claim was completed. $97 towards deductible to complete the $500 deductible, and reimbursed 80%, which was $1400 and change. Money was direct deposited into bank 6 days after surgery. Her 2 follow up visits have been just as easy. $162 dollars and reimbursed $129 within 4-6 days. I highly recommend this pet insurance company. My one regret is changing her policy from $250 deductible and 90% coverage only one month before her injury, but thank goodness I didn’t cancel it. The reason I changed my policy was to be able to afford to add my 2 cats to the policy so now everyone is covered. I give ASPCA 10 stars!!

I signed my newly adopted Shih Tsu up for ASPCA insurance 7/7/2025. I submitted several claims for routine veterinary care and two incidences of ear infections. So far every claim is being questioned, despite my having sent required documentation and providing details in each claim. One claim is being questioned because it "didn't upload correctly," but they have a record of what I submitted, including the detail. I downloaded a copy of it from their website. It appears they're routinely holding everything for "more information from my vet." With the exception of the ear infections and a microchip, everything else has been for required vaccinations and heart worm, flea, and tick medication. I plan to drop this insurance as soon as I can find a decent replacement.

They cover my dogs allergies and his prescription food which is great. Not a fan of how long the reimbursement can take. I wish they covered flea and tick prevention.

If you have a Chihuahua or part Chihuahua dog, don't bother paying high premiums to insure it. These people denied my claim for surgery on my dog recently because his Vet mentioned in 2024 that he had loose knees. Nearly all Chihuahua breeds have this genetic condition! The dog never so much as limped until last month when he tore his acl. Their illness policy is supposed to cover genetic conditions. Well, so much for that lie!

Great prices and coverage. App is very user friendly. So far so good, just submitted my very first claim for my puppy. Let’s see how the turnaround time goes.

Very very slow in processing claims.
Our dog is purebred, AKC registered.
No health issues whatsoever, yet was rehomed to us with no medical records that could be obtained. Our vet has said he is in perfect health. We had this baby for a year now, yet even for a wellness check it is the same garbage. They want two years records. Been insured now for a year with them too. Take the money and deny claims is their game.

They give you such a difficult time to reimburse you. They also make scenarios in their head and give their self a reason to reject claims. One time I was rejected and the reason was because I was still in my initial waiting period, made no sense since I was already a member for 3 years. They reject you with the dumb jest reasons

The people we talked too were very interested on our cat and seemed to show concern in their voice. Very smart about the company benifits for pet iwners.

Straightforward claims submission process - my vet emailed me a copy of my bill that I was able to upload. ASPCA asked for a full medical history, but that was something they were able to access by contacting my vet directly, so it was not burdensome. Then the claim was processed and my payment was direct deposited into my bank in somewhere around a week total - I wish human health insurance worked this well.

We put our beagle boy, Gilbert, to rest two weeks ago after 18 months of battling kidney disease. ASPCA was nothing short of superb throughout the whole process. Handled every claim, closed the account without our having to do a thing, even sent a lovely voice mail and email expressing their sympathies. Can't say enough about them. If we get another fur baby, ASPCA will be the first call.
Thank you to the entire ASPCA insurance team.
