I have had ASPCA insurance for quite a while...this pet and my first pet. I have been basically happy with them because i did not need live customer service/support. Today I call with a simple question, which should have been answered on the website but is not. I was on hold for 15 minutes, then cut off. Called back and waited another 10 minutes only to get someone whose English is spotty and who could not help me.
I am angry because it has been a wasted morning. I pay a lot of money for this service and I am wondering about the value. Unless the customer service improves I will no longer recommend this company and will have to look elsewhere for insurance for my pup. All I ask is that someone who knows something answers the phone in a timely manner.

The process was very simple. The only difficulty I had was in how to pick what health problem it was. But after I got used to the list, it went much easier. I called once and the customer service person was very helpful. The reimbursement is quite quick as well taking about a week or so.

I purchased ASPCA pet insurance for my cat, I took my cat to the cat dentist a couple of weeks later to get his teeth cleaned and it turned out they needed to pull 13 teeth it cost me $2200 and ASPCA within 2 weeks gave me back almost $1600 this company does exactly what they tell you they're going to do, I'm very satisfied with them the customer service reps were wonderful, they spoke English and they treated me very well, I highly, highly recommend,I pay 43 a month 250 deductible and they pay 80 percent, they were wonderful....thank you again

claims process is horrible and customer service never followed up calling me back. I had to make several phone calls and emails to just keep getting the runaround and they kept denying my claims even though I provided all necessary documents. This company likes to take you money but does not like to pay any claims. I would highly NOT recommend this pet insurance company to anyone!

This has been a complete scam, from the time I enrolled in March 2025 until now, end of May 2026. I have paid over $900 in premiums since I enrolled my pet. I have submitted 5 claims totaling just over $2,000 and ALL of my vet records. My vet's office also supplied all the records, which are very detailed, and go back 11 years. All of my claims were denied initially stating I hadn't provided the records. After ensuring they did have all records, I was told the claims would be reprocessed within 10 days. When I hadn't heard anything for over 30 days, I called customer service, and they confirmed I had provided everything needed and the man on the phone stated HE would personally ensure that ALL of my claims were reprocessed and he would contact me in 24-48 hours. That was 4 days ago.
This morning I had an email stating I would hear from them in another 30 days. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. While I've been waiting on responses, I've been paying the premiums. My pet was NEVER covered under the insurance plan I've paid over $900 for to keep him safe and healthy. I've done my part 100%. ASPCA Pet insurance has NOT provided the services I've paid for. I've wasted so many hours of time on the phone or sending emails and records and I'm currently waiting on the phone AGAIN right now. DO NOT pay for this service. It is a total waste of money. And a complete waste of time, trying to get your calims paid or your money back.
I have requested a refund and heard nothing back. I feel completely scammed.
Updated June 15, 2026. ASPCA pet insurance still has not approved my claims or issued me a refund. At this point for my own sanity, I am just canceling the policy, even though I feel I was scammed out of $900 in insurance premiums.
Don’t waste your time or money. Pet insurance is personal. We are trusting these companies to help us keep our pets healthy. I couldn’t be more disappointed by this company.

I’ve had ASPCA Pet Health Insurance for my Cat for over seven years, and overall my experience has been positive. The coverage helped significantly with emergency vet bills, and the claim submission process online was fairly simple. Reimbursements were not instant, but I usually received payment within a couple of weeks.
What I like most is the broad coverage options, especially for accidents and illnesses. It gave me peace of mind knowing I wouldn’t have to make financial decisions during an emergency.
