From Start to finish this estate agents kept us up to date with viewings and feedback.
The staff were all very pleasant and always got back when they said they would if we had a query.

We bought a property through Ashtons in December 2025. We had a rough journey with the sale of our house and consequently had 2 sales fall through before eventually securing a purchase with Ashton’s in Stockton Heath. Therefore we viewed a lot of properties with a lot of Estate Agents. I have to say that Ashtons were the best Estate Agents I dealt with out of all that I used within the area. The team were helpful, supportive and always called me back and replied to emails. I can’t thank Brad, Mollie and Cathy enough for being so lovely to deal with. Brad was amazing from start to finish and gave so much advice and support that I don’t think the whole process would have happened without his help! I would thoroughly recommend using Ashtons of Stockton Heath, I honestly couldn’t fault them!

Ashtons were great from the start of my property search, they sent me plenty of choices to pick from when other estate agents didn’t want to know. Special thanks to Sarah and Olivia who went above and beyond what their duties must be. Being new to buying and selling I wished I’d gone with Ashtons for my sale.

We can't thank Sam Ward (from the Harpenden branch) enough - we had a very limited timeframe to complete the buying process before the stamp duty deadline and Sam went above and beyond to speed up the process. Thanks to his efficiency and effort we were able to complete 2 days before the stamp duty deadline, saving around £7000 in extra tax. Can't recommend him enough!

Very poor service, no one can ever answer the phone , therefore anyone wanting to view can not get through.
Everything is done by Street App- very impersonal
Also they only want to progress a sale if it means they get to sell another house , they get commission for placing a house up for sale.
They have also divulged someone else’s personal information on my Street App

Professional and courteous. Having delt with a number of estate agents over the years I can only describe my experience with Ashtons as game changing. The staff at the local branch were knowledgeable and friendly, nothing was ever too much trouble. An easy 5 stars to award.

I had a great experience with Ashtons when selling and buying a property through them. Always on hand with any questions I had during the process. Couldn’t ask for a better experience with a company.

We have just made an offer on a property with Ashtons. Initially Alex White answered the phone and he became my main contact as we negotiated a sale. When Alex was not in I also spoke with Alix Lucas they were both so lovely, very easy to talk to and very professional and kept me updated through the process. Thank you to them both! Offer accepted!

The most unpleasant experience I have ever had with an estate agent. This once market leader has become the worst estate agent in York and it is all down to the attitude of the front line staff. Staff couldn't even answer the phone in a professional manor, never once got back to me and when chased they were rude on the phone. When questioned about their commitment to their responsibilities they became arrogant, even more rude and passive aggressive. If you ever have need of an estate agent, steer clear of these guys, they are the worst.

Absolutely liars,booked to see a house( to buy it),took off from work Friday,waited at house 10 minute and called them saying booking was cancelled and they tried to call me ,they emailed me to tell me,looked into my emails and phone calls ,nothing!liars,liars ,liars !

Absolutely awful. After being accepted by landlord they found a y reason for revenge on me After reporting one of them for discrimination, well she got her revenge and we have been left without a house to move too... now struggling to find a new home After having given notice to my landlords. Only one of them deserves some respect COLIN HICKEY, only professional agent.

Unprofessional estate agency in town. they did let me down after the offer was accepted and the process of mortgage/exchange of contract was in place, given a stupid reason as the vendor can't wait long, if the processing timescale in place there is nothing anyone can do...

Possibly the worst estate agent in history. We live opposite this bunch of fools in St Albans and for the last three years their alarm goes off after midnight all the time and we cannot sleep .if they cannot sort out an alarm problem then they are not that good for property matters . Avoid at all costs.

One star given and if there was no stars I would have given that. I put in an offer for a house on Saturday which was accepted (letter from them confirming acceptance) and on Monday another offer was put in by someone else and then I got a email telling me someone else had put an offer in last minute. Totally shameful and un professional.

I first used Ashton’s to buy my home 10 years ago. They were brilliant. Then I went into the rental market. They managed two properties, I bought 2 more. My mum sold her house through Ashton’s.
Since then I have used Ashton’s to find new tenants show them around. I then rely on their knowledge. The team at the Padgate Office are fantastic. Each and everyone of them.
I decided to do this review on Trust pilot as I don’t think that the score they have is deserving.

Totally inept. Despite promises before we took them on to sell our house that they were flexible in their operations in helping viewings and being available should we wish to know anything, we found our experience to be entirely the opposite to this.
The viewings were few and far between, the viewers they sent were not interested in the area or our type of property, we ended up hosting most of the viewings anyway as they were rarely available to do them.
When we called to ask for updates, there wasn't a single occasion when they answered the phone, instead we always got out through to an answering machine and not always called back and certainly not in a timely manner.
In the end we negotiated and sold the property ourselves as there was no input from ashtons except to get rid of us off the phone as soon as possible.
All together a shockingly bad experience, I know all estate agents are not the same and we will be using alternative arrangements for our future sales and purchases.
