Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 92 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers faced significant issues with online ordering, including difficulties placing orders, amending them, and problems with the website being clunky and slow. People frequently reported missing items from their deliveries, incorrect substitutions, and products with very short shelf lives or poor quality. The customer service was widely criticized for being unhelpful, difficult to reach, and unresponsive to complaints or requests for refunds. Delivery services were often unreliable, with late or failed deliveries, and a lack of communication regarding delays. Some people also felt that the staff were unhelpful and that the overall quality of goods, including fresh produce, was subpar. Conversely, some reviewers did praise the delivery drivers for being polite and helpful.

Not just awful service - Asda spies on you

Just try to forget the truly awful delivery service; forget the damaged goods and ludicrous replacements, forget that their software does not work, even forget they scam you when you make returns and refund less than the price charged (always check every item), but consider that their emails contain what is effectively spyware - secretly obtaining personal information about you such as the date and time you open their mail, your location, phone or computer device, even the software you use - all without your knowledge or consent (required by law). This is not just bad service, it is unethical and amoral and I will never trust them in any way.

Never using Asda Groceries service again

The driver didn't give me all of my items and had gone before I realised £10 box of Cola cans was missing. Unable to request a refund as Asds have decided I have had too many refunds and can't get through to anyone. With Regards to previous refunds if you sent in date produce or all the items were there I would not need a refund.

Asda has been taking the monthly fee…

Asda has been taking the monthly fee for a delivery pass that was set to ‘do not renew’. Despite this, they still renewed it! After a lot of difficultly I managed to speak to someone who apparently raised a complaint for me. I was supposed to get an email within 48 hours - that was two weeks ago! Since that I have found it impossible to speak to anyone! I want a refund of all the monthly fees, but have no idea how to go about this as I can't get to speak to a real person! 😡

Asda have issues which are down to bad customer services and IT

I would have given a minus star rating as this is what Asda deserves.
Asda has too many issues with delivering goods, customer services, and basic online orders. There is no complaints department and the call centre often have issue understanding customers and customer needs. After many months of complaining I will be shopping with Tesco, Ocado, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Co Op and Spar. They will be losing over £100 per week but they don’t care.

Asda deliveries have cancelled numerous…

Asda deliveries have cancelled numerous times for no reason, or has been excessively late. I ordered groceries this evening between 5-6pm, relying on them for my dinner. It's now a quarter past 7 and it says the delivery is on its way, expected to arrive at 5pm!

If it told me it was cancelled, at the very least I could go out and sort out food myself, but I've been staying here in case the groceries do arrive. This is the last straw - I won't order with them again, even though I still have a few weeks left of a monthly free pass.

Returned £90 worth of online ordered groceries and haven't received refund (despite chasing 3x)

I ordered groceries online on the 29th August and over ordered in error (which I realised once delivered).

Rang customer services who advised me to return the items to the delivery driver when I next had a grocery delivery and the driver would action the refund.

Returned £90 worth of items to the delivery driver on September 11th. No refund was received.

Rang customer services 3x - on the 15th, 22nd & 28th Sep. Each time - they had absolutely no record of my calls (or refund). Each time I was told it had gone through to the payments team and they would email me within 15 minutes. I never received the email (or refund).

In absolute desperation - I have issued a charge back via my credit card for the refund.

'Asda be a joke?

Started well but my grocery delivery has gone downhill. I can't remember the last time i had a full shop , it's all unavailable this unavailable that, the other week 6 items were missing and they were my main meals for the week, as a disabled person I need a reliable service. it's usually 5/6 items every week . the driiver was also late, no notification, they told me they are understaffed, an agent on social media told me Asda are going through a transition so it will be like this for awhile but things should slowly get better ? At present I find that hard to believe.

I recently purchased fruit and lemon…

I recently purchased fruit and lemon pancakes in store prepared for breakfast but was unable to eat as there was so much lemon in them left a bitter taste in my mouth and throat, I have brought before and were great. Not sure what went wrong with this batch. Not sure I will buy again, shame as one of my favourites.

Out of Date goods

Ordered delivery online arrived at right time. 1 item wasn't delivered, burgers were soggy and upon reading cooking instructions said best cooked from frozen. They must have been frozen to start with but not when I received them. Bread rolls had date best before 05/2024.
Only 5 months out of date. How can they operate like this. Absolutely disgusting. Complained and received £3.00 refund out of £24.00. Will never use Asda again

Asda a store in my local area is…

Asda a store in my local area is terrible in the sense that
Products are moved to different areas so you have to walk all over the store looking for the product you require costing you a lot of time wasting and half the time you cant even find the item very bad management i now do most of my shopping elsewhere at rival stores

Don't Use, Unreliable.

Like many other customers it seems, I am constantly being delivered more and more substitutes or the items are just not available at all. I am disabled and simply can't get to the store. I have given them a few last chances, seeing as I prefer a few of their products to the same type produced by competitors but these products are unavailable or substitutes are offered for them now most of the time. If someone I know kindly agrees to go to the shop for me and looks for the products I wanted, they are there, yet I am told they are not available.
I am feeling that because I am disabled I am basically being treated by ASDA like a second class citizen. I have started using a competitors delivery service and they are much more reliable, and now have totally swapped over. So, after being a loyal ASDA customer for many years, they have now totally lost me as a customer.
