AI replacing customer service not working.

Customer support appears to be diminishing more and more as companies rely more on Artificial Intelligence which only do more to increase my frustration.
Its been over a month and I still cannot get Rise 360 working on my laptop again and do think you can get someone on a phone, I am just so glad I did not pay for this.

Where to start?

Where to start? The program signed people out, and refused to load many elements. On my iPhone, I couldn't get through 2 minutes on the preview without the program failing. I was told this was the fault of iOS, and that I shouldn't be using preview as the actual program. Firstly, if your program fails to work with the most successful user product of all time, you are the issue. Secondly, I was using preview to preview the program; pre (before), view (view). I won't go on further to bore you, but it's only gotten worse from there.

When they were attempting to sell it to me there was plenty of people to meet with, now that I'm a customer and gave them my money, they are nowhere to be found. I get a response once a week that seems like they haven't even read my previous email. This has been a huge mistake and is a serious determent to my small business. Hopefully this will help someone else to avoid buying this.

Customer Service is Non-Existent

I was exploring different platforms for my small business and had been in contact with a salesperson from your team via email. Unfortunately, I experienced significant delays in communication, often not receiving responses, and was unable to reach anyone by phone despite making multiple attempts. Over the past two months, it has been challenging to obtain the support or clarity I needed to make an informed decision.

While I found Articulate’s interface and accessibility features impressive, the customer service experience fell short of expectations, especially given the price point. Timely and reliable support is a key factor in my decision-making process, and unfortunately, this has led me to explore other options that better meet my business needs.

Rise and Storyline for e-Learning

I typically use Rise and Storyline to build e-learning courses. Both programs are great for the creation of engaging materials for learners. The new AI features have helped with the creation of interactive materials that we did not have in the past.

It used to be a great product and has many great features that result in some amazing finished projects. However, in the last year or two it has become completely unreliable. There are outages almost every week, some large and some small. When you're working on tight deadlines, any outage impacts your ability to reach the finish line on time and eventually impacts your reputation with clients. For the amount of money they charge for a subscription, it is absolutely outrageous that they have this many outages and blow it off like it's no big deal to users.

Hyped, but Buggy and Expensive

I have been using Articulate almost every day for the past year, so I'm a moderately advanced user. It has some great features, but lately very frustrating. There are too many bugs. Crashes without warning. Crashes on publishing to xAPI, SCORM, Review 360. Takes up to 30 minutes to compile and publish a large project. Am using 2 laptops with it. Crashes randomly on both. (One has 16 GB RAM, the other 32 GB RAM) The auto-save feature doesn't work properly! You need to save manually every 30 minutes. Sometimes it changes your variable settings. I have lost hours of work. After I finish my project, not likely I will continue using it but am tied to it until completion. Overpriced. Not recommended. 3 stars at best.
I think 14 bug fixes this year so far !!

Industry Standard eLearning Software

We use Articulate 360 on a daily basis and consider it to be an excellent tool for developing eLearning courses.

We have used the software heavily for more than 7 years now, spanning multiple versions and we've found that we can build most things we'd ever need to build in an eLearning context. The majority of organisations that approach us to build their courses already know that they want us to do so using Articulate 360, which speaks volumes and embeds the products as truly industry-standard.

The community that surrounds Articulate and its products is second to none. The members of the eLearning Heroes forums are warm and friendly and are always willing to jump in and offer advice and solutions to help keep your projects moving. This is a great safety net to have when you're up against it and you hit a wall. Articulate deserve congratulations for enabling such a community to grow on its platform.

I look forward to seeing how Articulate 360 continues to evolve.

This software is my go to tool for all…

This software is my go to tool for all my elearning development needs. I have been using it since it came out, which is now many many years.

The company is constantly improving and adding to the tools that are included in this package.

I use Storyline 360 predominantly and like that it is robust enough for me to create anything I can imagine, but not so tricky that a new user can't pick it up and create a course. For the quick projects that just need to get out, I've been using Rise, but even it is becoming more robust with new improvements.

Had potential, but in practice is disappointing

Poorly coded, poorly optimized, buggy, and a blatant microsoft product ripoff with 10x the bugs. Saving your file takes over a minute, sometimes much longer. This is on a high end video editing PC. I've genuinely never seen software with save times like this. In this day and age to have software that works this poorly is entirely unacceptable. Especially for the price they're trying to justify here. I would recommend to look elsewhere. Don't waste your money. They desperately need a larger team to sort out the bugs and sluggishness of the software.

One of the worst buggy products I have every used

One of the worst buggy products I have ever worked with. Their Storyline software is only available for Windows OS. Within Storyline they have a feature to import powerpoint slide, which 50% will important the images properly and 50% the images in the slides are not imported at all. Any animations in powerpoint slides does not work properly either in Storyline. On top of that it keep on crashing if I copy and paste an image directly in Storyline or record an audio longer than 1 min.

Also Storyline doesn't work properly on 4K monitors, and they don't plan to make any improvement for it anytime soon. Their support recommends that we change the resolution of the screen. See for your self on their community portal where some important requested features have been overlooked for 4+ years and no proper response from their teams. Many expressing their frustration on this community posts.

Their Rise 360 project which allow you to create more text heavy based course, is PIA to use as well. The experience of editing content (mainly images, videos, and interactivity) is not that good either.

Not to mention they are very expensive compared to the quality of the software.

Expensive and increasingly buggy

Having historically left existing customers in the lurch by switching to a subscription model with no cheap upgrade from previous full versions, this software is now prohibitively EXPENSIVE. Compared to say Adobe CC, it’s off the scale in terms of what you get (or rather don’t get) for your money.

However, we held our noses and took the plunge due to requirements of existing clients, but were disappointed to find this software has become increasingly buggy and their fixes create new bugs elsewhere, suggesting that they don’t test properly, particularly regression. It’s becoming embarrassing to use in a professional context when building courses for external clients. Our internal QA/testing costs have ROCKETED as a result so we’re now looking at more robust alternatives.

I really like this bit of software

I really like this bit of software. Both Storyline and Rise give course developers some great tools to create eye catching and engaging courses whatever the content. Only not giving 5 Stars because they continue to not create software that works on a Mac, which is just crazy!

Frustrating and annoying - I don't enjoy using this

This software is frustrating to navigate and annoying to animate with. It's very annoying that it does not work on mac either. It's extremely flimsy and things like the timeline are just so awkward to scroll, zoom in and out of, find what I need, delete things etc. It is very similar to windows power point, which is too clunky and slow to have more advanced animation and design like this, and I think it should be more similar to actual video edit/animate/design software like premier pro than powerpoint. Needs an overhaul. Having it blacklit instead of bright white would be a good idea too. Overall very annoying to use.

Literally the WORST program I have ever…

Literally the WORST program I have ever used. It seems like such a wonderful program then, WHAM, "This project is invalid or corrupt and cannot be opened. It may have been created in an earlier version of Storyline." error message appears and EVERYTHING you have done is lost.

I've lost so many projects, weeks of work, only to start over.

So, make backups, you say, Yup, made 4 of them and they are now all corrupted. There are no backup files, though it is set to save automatically, which is useless as the file is corrupted.

Literally, saved the project. Closed it out. Opened it back up to make a correction and the error message popped up. And guess what, there is NOTHING I can do about it. Search the community, it's like oh, sorry, sucks to be you, sort of attitude. This is NOT a product for professional usage, especially when you have deadlines and all your work gets corrupted.

Note: I had no other programs working. I've been saving versions 1, 2, 3, so I have additional copies. Today, after making additional copies, from a version that worked mere seconds before, all of the files came up with the corrupted message.

I have contacted Articulate and opened a case. EVEN if they can get my projects back, I'm stuck sitting here writing a review of how horrible the product is, instead of working on my projects.

SL2 - It's good

Using SL2 is a fairly decent process, with some friction points when getting into the nitty gritty of using the software. I do like that you can import translations directly and that makes building courses anew in another language must faster. I do like the versatility of layers, states and triggers. As well there are many valuable templates created by community users that can be gleaned and updated for your own needs. When working with a module that is large, the SL2 file can become unstable and corrupt - which is no fun - and in my experience not recoverable. It does not create a good mobile user experience unless you build a course that is specifically designed for the mobile experience, so that means multiple courses for the same content.

Well-rounded software package

Articulate has really stepped up their game with the new 360 launch. The Articulate Review service is brilliant and has greatly reduced the amount of annoying tasks we have to go through to review Storyline files internally. Rise is an excellent way to quickly and easily build e-learning projects, while Storyline remains a strong, much more complex partner. The content library is full of great stuff that can easily be used in projects.
