Terrible App usage and Proctor experience

I had a very terrible experience while trying to write my exam, and I would like to highlight several serious issues I encountered.

First, the app itself was extremely difficult to use. When I attempted to begin the exam, I was unexpectedly redirected to a completely different page. It felt as though my laptop was being controlled remotely without clear explanation, which was both confusing and concerning. This situation continued for over 15 minutes, leaving me anxious and unsure of what was happening.

Due to the frustration, I was forced to close everything and restart the entire process. Even after doing so, I spent nearly half an hour trying to connect to a proctor on ProctorU. The delay was excessive and unacceptable for a time-sensitive exam.

When I was finally connected, the assigned proctor (invigilator) was extremely unprofessional. Communication was unclear, and the screening process felt disorganized and unnecessarily stressful. Instead of helping me feel prepared, the interaction added to my frustration.

Overall, the entire ProctorU check-in and proctoring process was slow, complicated, and highly stressful. This experience created unnecessary pressure and negatively affected my ability to focus on the exam.

I strongly recommend improving the app’s usability, reducing connection delays, and ensuring that proctors are better trained to provide a more professional and supportive experience for test-takers.

Do Prosci instead

Not only is the course out-dated, but their mock exam portal is out of action just when I need to practice! When I contacted APMG, the rude guy told me to "just read the exam papers" (I really, really need to practice, reading a paper isn't enough for me) and was mind blowingly disrespectful. Do yourself a favour and do Prosci instead. APMG is low rent and RUDE. He finished the call with "enjoy your reading" and no apology whatsoever. What a dreadful, mean little man.

Disgusting, horrifying exam experience

I just logged in to take my AgilePM exam (already an unfortunately outdated, useless one). I waited 27 minutes. Then a man started talking through my personal computer. It was completely horrifying. He took a photo of my passport!! and then asked to CONTROL MY COMPUTER. I immediately shut everything down, but I am disgusted and appalled. It is nighttime and I am so shaken. I deeply regret ever coming across this organization.

Professional Effective Learning

Agile PM course was delivered at a comfortable pace. Rik Ellis was a fantastic trainer, using real life, relationable examples as part of his training delivery. Nice clear explanations given to any clarification questions.

Change management foundation exam disaster solved

12-06-2025: APMG offered me a solution for my disastrous experience with ProctorU which I greatfully accepted. I will take my exam next week in a different way, not via ProctorU.

10-06-2025 Earlier experience:
I was to take a Change management foundation exam 10th of june. At Januari 2025 I subscribed to the change management foundation self study, after informing which change management exam to take & theory to study. They adviced me the wrong training & study material. THis I found out later in april after calling with another support employee. Strangely there are 2 foundation exams, but one is only valid. So I got other papers to study. Next problem appeared when subscribing to the exam. Normally if you book a timeslot it will be downloadable in your agenda; it did not. As the notation of time is different between UK and Netherlands I called support to know if I interpreted the time sceduled correctly. A week ago I tried to download the proctorU, which could not as the installation guide does not show the correct pictures/ steps to follow. So on the big day of the examination I spend almost 1,5 hour with the help of supportdesk trying to connect to the examination site, which did not happen. I have taken a lot of online exams, but this proces of login, connecting to website and go through an app set up is really a pain in the ass, not user friendly and not plug & play. One thing; technical support was doing their utmost trying to solve it. I am now awaiting any reaction from helpdesk how to continue, if I can take the exam which I already paid for or if I have to pay for another try.

Negative experience dealing with APMG & their Proctor

I had recently taken AgilePgM Foundation examination at AGPM. Unfortunately the Proctor service is extremely poor and they did not help thoroughly to set up the software properly in my personal laptop. After 1 hour of chatting online with IT persons, they managed to install it which already is past the time for exam. It caused a lot of stress and discomfort prior to the exam. I did contact APMG directly and they let me through again to Proctor. The Proctor invigilator was extremely rude and she was remotely connected from India. Due to reasons above and unnecessary stress of dealing with Proctor, I did not pass the exam. I did write to APMG once again to re-consider and they simply stated that if I want to re-take the exam, additional fee needs to be paid in full. This is completely unfair and unjustified to treat your candidates in this manner knowing previous negative experiences of dealing with Proctor service. Overall, my experience is extremely poor of the quality of their service and I will not take any more qualifications again with APMG. I think their qualifications standards are dropping in their value and somehow out of date. Please reconsider investing your money with APMG.

Avoid online exams with nightmare software

I took the AgilePM Foundation exam and all was pretty smooth and I had hardly any issues needing support in using the ProctorU software. For the AgilePM Practitioner exam it was a terrible experience and I'd never recommend anyone take an APMG International online exam until they work with a different software provider. It took almost an hour to get into the exam and the APMG live chat person was little help, telling me basic instructions without any specificity to actually solve my problems, sometimes taking 4-6 minutes between answers. In the end, he offered me a choice of downloading software to view my computer, which Chrome said was dangerous and which others on Trustpilot have said crashed their systems, or to continue with his support which offered no specific resolution - all while trying to get into an exam that started an hour ago.

Then, during the exam, the software crashed four times, meaning I had to restart, log on again, complete the invigilation checks and then get back into the exam. ProctorU support was trying to resolve it and kept apologising but it was completely unacceptable. I kept asking if I'd get extra time to make up for the time lost and was told yes but this never happened. Somehow I passed the exam but being locked out totally affected my concentration. Take the exams in person if you use this company.

The Best Service in Terms of Accredited Exams!

I have had not-the-best experiences with previous awarding bodies when it comes to exam processes - processes that often have you stressed out about your exam conditions instead of focusing on the exam & its content!

To say I was pleasantly surprised by APMG International's team would be a gross understatement - the two proctors who were invigilating me using the APMG in-person proctoring (AIPP) were simply stunning. Right there to help, so incredibly kind, and so helpful!

After completing my exam, I received a personal message to say a sincere well done on my mark, and I was so pleased to have had both proctors congratulate me & wish me a wonderful weekend.

For anyone who has not sat an exam through an accredited organisation before, these might sound like small things, but together they have created an environment that makes me want - no, actually, I mean an environment that makes me very eager, to sit another exam with APMG International again.

Thank you APMG International - and to my wonderful proctors! :)

Terrible experience

Declined my test booking 90 minutes before with no apology
- I requested an exam slot on Thursday when my course ended for 7am Monday morning (the only slots available for the entire week after my course were at 6am & 7am)
- made special arrangements to have a place to take the test.
- emailed “customer support” when request still showed pending 48 hours later
- I spent my weekend preparing for the exam; no reply
- Received an email at 5:21am (90 mins to test): “I would like to inform you…” (there is routine maintenance on our portal every Monday so you must select a different slot).
- No apology
- No explanation of why I was served a non-existant slot or why I wasn't contacted until the 4th day after I requeted it (before all slots for the following dates were gone)
- emailed requesting an explanation; no one ever bothered to reply

I think they might be in the wrong business.
Be warned that if you take a course through the Learning Academy, you’ll be stuck with APGM as the exam provider.

Awful experinece taking AgilePM exam

I booked my AgilePM exame, installed the [useles] Guardian Browser, did all Device tests 3 times: all were green. On the exam, an assistant took over my computer, ruined it: files, settings, histories, 40 hrs of work all destroyed! Assistant didn't do any of the pre-exam steps, no photo of me or my ID was taken, after 15 mins of wrecking my laptop, got the test working: only for the guardian browser to turn blank on the 5th questions! 15 mins of wandering in all my laptop, the assistant managed to get the test back! I realised the timer was off 20 mins so asked to get the time back. Instead was encouraged to do 45 questions in the remaining 20mins!! I refused so was referred to the online chat to reset it! It was a useless robochat, repeating the same questions!! It then spiraled into a circle of assistances passing me around for 3hrs until the 7th assistant refused me of service saying the time slot was gone!!!
APMG: how can you teach people project management when you treat your own cuctomers like this?

APMG are OK but they need to ditch ProctorU who have a one-star rating from 1,000,000+ users

APMG have been fine to deal with - but they really need to ditch ProctorU!! - Why are you using this company?? - please read their customer review on here!!
I was left very angry and disappointed in my experience – to start with no extra time as a reasonable adjustment for learning difficulties was added to the exam, despite me sending through evidence twice. I have just had a very stressful 40mins leading up to my exam trying to connect to ProctorU & not being able to get adequate assistance from their live chat function. When my call to the help line was answered the first question asked was ''are you using a work computer?'' presumably because this is the most common issue? ''it says this in the email you received'' - if that is the case then this text should be in the body of the email & not hidden away in the fine print of a drop-down box (especially not from dyslexic people!!!) - I was then told it was not possible to sit the exam on a work computer & that I (not my organisation) would have to pay £25 to re-schedule the exam, although the fine print states ‘'Note: We strongly recommend using a personal computer''. I am currently working on an incredibly busy NHS project and its sadly ironic & infuriating to have wasted my time preparing & re-registering for an ‘Agile’ PM course all about efficiencies. It's no wonder ProctorU has a one-star rating from 1,000,000+ users… when I contacted APMG they agreed to waver the fee & re-schedule my exam, however I'm really not looking forward to dealing with ProctorU again! Poor service & poor customer service.
