Processing payments into your ANZ account is slow compared to other banks. Better off banking elsewhere.

I have a foreign currency account in AUD with ANZ NZ. I discovered that it is completely useless as I cannot do anything with the funds. I have been trying to close the account for over a year but the online banking system does not allow me to take the funds out of the account because it is not 'transactional'. What is the purpose of a bank account that does not allow transactions?
Most unprofessional Bank in New Zealand
Most unprofessional Bank in New Zealand
1) transferred money from business account to private account and a Indian ANZ call center called and accused of of fraud - made complain, simple sorry
2) wanted to add my wife to the business account, had to go 2x to the branch, and they still did not had it in the System - now they asked us a 3rd time to come to the branch to do it again
-> will close my account now
STAY away from ANZ !!!!!!!
Shocking for a big bank
Shocking for a big bank. I got declined for a home loan by the credit team 2x because my income wasn't consistent enough as the Fitness and Lifestyle industry apparently fluctuates. Even though my income is high and I have great credit scores. So disappointed and the first person I dealt with was so rude to me, they never gave me a resolution. I would never recommend ANZ to anymore, definitely the worse bank in NZ. I feel bad for the decent people within the bank being brought down by the Credit Team. I use ASB and they are so helpful and are keen to help you.
A bank that makes billions in profits…
A bank that makes billions in profits but puts people into poverty due to its exploitative home loan interest rates. They represent what is wrong with the world today. Greed.
A Happy Customer
Happy with the financial account services I hold with them. No issues to report either.
hello ANZ 0800, Is the number working???
My teenage was very embarrassed and surprised finding out his bank card was not working when making payment at dine-out, so I suggested him calling ANZ 0800 Customer Service line to find out what happened given he has enough credit in his bank account. He waited 30 mins patiently on ANZ 0800 number and then was told by a 'voice' that the line was closed at 8pm and the call was cut off immediately.. Hello ANZ, the teenage was still waiting to be connected on the line with a hope that his bank card can be sorted so he can pay the bill, and I cannot imagine what the consequence would be if this happened when he was on a trip by himself in another city. Fortunately this time it happened in a place where I could quickly rescue him in payment. Such terrible, helpless and shocking service...
Withdrawal
Can not see why my request has been so convoluted, unless it is a deliberate stalling tactic. What should have been,as it was explained,a straight forward withdrawal has been dragged out for no obvious or logical reason, or certainly not as explained to me.Call centre staff have been,by most part, polite and efficient and also a bit bewildered by what's going on.Some other staff however, outside the call area, just come across as totally inept and inefficient.I say it is deliberate stalling as there is no other way to explain their lack of action.Coming on a week and still no decision made for what in effect is a piddly amount of money, and it's MY money not a loan.
No point in being loyal
No point in being loyal. They treat you like an external customer every time you engage them. I have been with them 20+ years and it’s really the pain of change that keeps me there. But looking at changing all my mortgages to another bank.
I was visiting family in Australia and…
I was visiting family in Australia and needed to transfer money from my NZ ANZ account to my son, I was unable to figure out how to do this myself. I rang the call centre, the lady who I spoke to at the call centre was wonderful she got this done for me quickly, she was friendly, professional and provided excellent service..... The whole experience was fun and easy.....
ANZ doesn't care
Not a bank for kiwis or loyal customers.
as told I would be called in the morning..
Very unprofessional receiving an effortless email after all the effort, time & communication I've put forward to my own bank.
Having this outcome twice in a row but being in a high paying job is confusing when I've banked with you my entire life & paid my old loan with ease & no problems.
ANZ unfortunately seems to not honor it's loyal customers & for that reason I will be relocating banks & recommending anyone in the future to not bank with ANZ.
Having a large portfolio on clients I'd imagine this will take easily millions out of your hands & into the hands of bank that cares about it's people.
It's appalling how badly you treat your customers & clearly have no incentive on creating a fake digital dollar to support your customer base.
Really upset & once again dissapointed. For which the reasons you have are not sufficient to clarify not being able to pay such a low repayment not have you communicated in wanting to help the customer but rather placing a stigma on somebody doing well the embodiment of motivating & being unsupportive toward New Zealand citizens.
Disappointing
Honestly was the worst banking…
Honestly was the worst banking experience I have ever had , rude bankers with attitude, from the second you walk in you are met with unhelpful employees who clearly don’t want to help you. I wouldn’t recommend this ANZ Silverdale
No good for Deaf or hearing impaired…
If you are Deaf or hearing impaired this is NOT the bank for you. ANZ systems are poor. I have made formal written complaints and nothing happens.
Totally over them service is awful
Have spent hours trying to get through to talk to someone wait times are ridiculous on hold for 20 minutes then put through and again another 20 minutes. Spent hours last week so emailed and took 3 attempts to get an answer that made sense. The profits are huge after 30 years with them will be changing banks. Totally over them
Worst bank of new zealand
The company should fire all human staff and replaced by AI. They make non sense decision while I can get comfortably with other bank. The most annoying is I have been with them for more a decade but always have to go for other bank to get what I need.
No loyalty towards customers.
No loyalty towards customers.
A 1 star rating is too good for ANZ. Been with them 14 years with all business banking, mortgages etc but their attitude towards helping me after being scammed online and providing proof that the fraudulent company is a front for a scam and all they can say is that their best advice is for me to contact the fraudulent company and politely request a refund. As if the fraudulent company running a scam is going to decide to answer me and refund my money in full.
Time to move on
I think some ppl have written this already but ive been a customer over my whole life, literally same bank account as a kid. I doesnt matter. They blocked my credit card after someone try to use, yay. They tell you to contact back but you cant contact them. U can wait on the phone line forever and get no one. Im nearly logging over an hour. And i need my credit card for parking at work. I called on sunday when it happened, waited 20mins to talk to someone general cool they transfer me to fraud. They said it will be about 3 mins around 15mins later i get a message saying “no one in fraud depratment, leave a message”.
I leave a message…they finally ring me when im at work the next day….. I return their call on lunchbreak. I was on 37min wait, and then i get the same message that no one is in. I cant even be bothered leaving them a message. Whats the point? Time to get a new credit card from somewhere else i think!!! Lunchbreak is nearly over. Wasted more than an hour total on this still havent talked to a person. I have no credit card, no idea on what is happening with that card. Dont be a customer of anz, you will be stuffed with no way of contacting them when you need to. Even when you think you know how long you have to wait, think again. You will never ever speak to a person. So you are left without a credit card. Whats the point of a bank?
Worst bank ever
Worst bank ever. I know my log in details and won't let me in after 2 tries. If you need to do something urgently it is so frustrating.
I have opened an account at The Co-operative bank and don't have any trouble so moving away from ANZ after 50 years.
Terrible service
Terrible service. Banks have closed, mobile mortgage manager didn’t contact me after initial contact. No wonder it takes a long time serving customers when tellers are so nosey and intrusive. Had an appointment with mortgage manager. He was late and didn’t really know how to treat customers in my view. Wanted to change from floating to fixed mortgage. I’m between jobs and he started barraging me with questions about my work etc. told me there was just over 1 percent difference in the 2 types of loans so it’s not much at all. Told me that to get a fixed mortgage I need a job, job seekers support isn’t enough to change it to a fixed mortgage with set payments. What if the interest rates keep going up though. No support or offers of ways to help. A school kid would know more about interest rates than he seemed to understand in my opinion. Left angry and a waste of my time and money driving to one of the few banks left in Auckland.
If I could give any lower of a rating I…
If I could give any lower of a rating I absolutely would!!! This bank is not for their people and needs to be shut down completely, after losing my mother they have made closing her account an absolute nightmare. Why are we being told different stories by different tellers constantly, f this bank
