Beware of hidden costs

Quite possibly the worst company I've ever had the misfortune to encounter. Do not use if you're in an apartment with limited parking options.

Booked and paid upfront, then on the day they refused to collect my stuff, trying to enforce a 20m rule (which isn't clear in their T&Cs), unless a paid an extra £200 saying it needed to be rebooked. The partners they used clearly didn't want to do the extra leg work, telling me that AnyVan don't pay them much to do the job, and even after I made arrangements and offered to pay any parking fines they may incur (as per their T&Cs), they still wouldn't do it. I suspect the extra £200 only included a rebooking fee because they didn't want to do the job and I should not be liable for this if their 'partners' are refusing.

I was unable to rebook anyway due to limited time off work and urgency of the move so I refused to pay the absurd extra costs at two thirds the original booking fee. When I requested a refund, because they were not going to move my stuff on the day I booked, they refused saying I had no option other then to pay the extra £200 or lose £313 from the original booking.

They have an unhelpful customer service team and their complaints procedure is a joke with a whatsapp form that doesn't work and no one that mans the chat to get back to you.

In the end I had to make emergency last minute arrangements with someone else to move my stuff and raised a payment dispute with my bank in order to get a full refund for a service they did not provide.

I had a fantastic experience with…

I had a fantastic experience with AnyVan and wanted to share how smooth everything was from start to finish.

I arranged for a corner sofa (in two parts) to be collected from one address and delivered to another for a friend who really needed it. The sofa was through Gumtree, so I didn’t personally know the seller or have much information about the collection point — which could have made things complicated — but AnyVan handled it perfectly.

The collection window I was given was between 7am and 12pm, but they arrived promptly, picked everything up, and had it delivered by around 8am, which was incredibly impressive. The delivery involved carrying the sofa up to a first floor flat, and the guys handled it without any issues.

Both the parties at the collection point and my friend at the delivery address commented on how friendly, professional, and efficient the team were. It made what could have been a stressful situation completely hassle free.

I wouldn’t hesitate to use AnyVan again — highly recommended!

We found AnyVan very helpful when we made inquires about their service. We received email reminders of when the move was taking place and on the day they were early which worked out really well for us. Being able to live track where you belongings are on the day of the move, and being able to contact the drive on the day of the move is very reassuring. I can only speak about our experience with AnyVan and it was very good. I would definitely recommend them again. The price was extremely competitive too.

Avoid this company at all costs

Avoid this company at all costs.

It's the second time I have used them in 6-8 months and I have. The first time was ok due to a kind and helpful driver.

The second time that I have just experienced a few days ago will lead me to never use this company again.

2 rude, ignorant representatives turned up yesterday, 1 was constantly on his phone, dragging our items without care. They dirtied and damaged a lot of our furniture.

The worst part is more than 50% of the volume of the booking was for a 4 seater sofa. They made no attempt to actually move it as they were too weak to and in the only attempt they did make, they damaged an expensive sofa.

The sofa still needs to be moved, I have had to pay a different company as Anyvan denied to help at all. They also told me I would have to make a separate booking.

They are a disgraceful ponzi scheme with terrible customer service.

Lots of reviews say anyone with a van, that couldn't be more true.

They are devoid or professionalism and without integrity.

Our experience was nothing short of a disaster from start to finish. The chaos began the day before our move when we received an alert suggesting they were on their way — a full day early. A worrying sign of things to come.

On moving day itself, they then informed us they would be arriving 4 hours later than originally agreed. On moving day. When every minute counts and a chain of people, plans and logistics depend on you.

When they finally turned up, it was immediately clear something was very wrong. The van was tiny — wholly inadequate for a house move — and it was apparent the team had little to no experience of what they'd taken on. We watched with growing dread as it became obvious they couldn't manage the job.

Then, without a word of warning, explanation or apology, they simply drove off. They left us completely stranded on the most stressful day of our lives, with no communication whatsoever. The silence was breathtaking.

What followed made it even worse. Customer service refused to call us, leaving us to chase frantically for a resolution that took hours to reach — hours we simply didn't have on moving day.

We were utterly let down at every single stage. Avoid at all costs.

My Smart car transportation.

I recently needed to use Anyvan to deliver and collect my vehicle from a garage. Both drivers Keith and Esmaeel were outstanding, very polite, courteous, and very professional. They were also extremely careful with my car.

Both enjoyed working for the company and I feel They really are good assets to AnyVan. The care and diligence was exceptional.
