Do you like your crime thrillers to have a forensic element that adds to the realism? Do you like your lead character to be someone intense and unafraid to take on authority? Andrew writes precisely that kind of crime thriller, and has done since 1996, about the same time he became a CSI in Yorkshire. He doesn’t write formulaic fiction; each story is hand-crafted to give you a unique flavour of what CSIs encounter in real life – and as a practising CSI, he should know what it’s like out there. Here’s your chance to walk alongside SOCO Roger Conniston and CSI Eddie Collins as they do battle with the criminals that you lock your doors to keep out. Andrew Barrett is a true wordsmith! With just a few well-chosen words, he immediately draws you in to his stories and puts you right into the action with more immediacy than any other writer I've ever read. Fast-moving, complex yet believable plots, humanly flawed yet engaging characters, make all his books highly entertaining reads. I'll never tire of reading Barrett's books!

Andrew Barrett is a brilliant author who lives and works in West Yorkshire where his books are based. He is a real life CSI and certainly knows his stuff which is apparent when you read his work. He always injects a bit of humour into his work and no matter how horrendous the subject, it makes it more true to life.

Andrew Barrett is one of the better writer that's around at the moment.
He is dedicated and obviously does a large amount of research of the role of a CSI and its department. Eddie Collins series.
His characters develop with each book. Even though his books are about crimes, such as murders, they are not gruesome but interesting. There is also some comedy involved.
I would recommend you to read one of his novels as I think you will get hooked like me and many others.

Andrew Barrett is an excellent police-procedural/murder-mystery writer whose main characters are based on Andrew himself, as they are also investigative officers.
All his novels are thrilling, fast-paced cases where murder is done and the investigation is detailed without slowing the plot's pace one iota.
Definitely an author whose books should take pride of place on your detective drama bookshelves immediately - if not sooner!

Andrew Barrett is a great mystery murder writer. His main “ character “ is just that a CSI with some unique talents and some great off handed comments. I have read most of his books and have never been disappointed with the quality of the story. I await his next book as I know many others are! Andrew is a former CSI and so he brings actual knowledge to his stories based in Leeds, England.

A really good writer who does what was once said about writing stories "write what you know" and I can honestly say that he does that extremely well. He rarely has any typos or incorrect grammar in his book. I shall be continuing to read Andrew Barrett's work as he is quickly becoming one of my 'looked for' writers and a guaranteed good read.

A true British crime writer. Says it how it is. I love the gritty drama in all his novels, plus all the twists and turns. You get to love or loath the characters especially as they unravel over the pages.
I really like this author and if you haven't read anything of his yet, then you really need to start doing so 💜💜

I love the gritty, real people Mr Barrett write about. I also really enjoy his sense of cop humour that comes through in every Eddie Collins book. Eddie is quite a character and if you enjoy police procedural thrillers, with a touch of wit and weird humour, you can't go wrong with these books.

His books pull you in from the beginning and are hard to put down! If you are a crime/thriller/mystery fan, who doesn’t mind a little grit, I would recommend you check out Andrew Barrett’s books.

All of Andy's books that I have read have been brilliant. They are the sort of books that once you start reading them you do not want to put down. They seem very authentic and it is nice to read of places near to home that you may recognise. I can never wait for the next one.

The writing is excellent and the stories are gripping. Could not put down any book by him. His depiction of a day in the life of a detective is spot on and real. Fascinating writer.

I love reading his Stories!
Once I start his books I don't put them down until its complete, they are that good. They are accurate in the CSI details and have enough twists and turns to keep you guessing. Each story has high entertainment value that I am never disappointed with the money spent.

Andy has a talent. A talent for a good plot, wonderful characters and for getting you to turn the pages increasingly fast! I love Eddie- he says what we sometimes want to but dare not- a spade is a shovel if you get my meaning. These are not only brilliant tales but interesting along the way- done from the CSI point of view which gives a snippet of behind the scenes and a different perspective to that of a detective.Andy is one of my go- to authors- for that there has to be a good solid character and a brilliantly thought out plot. I very much look forward to the next instalment. Long live Eddie!

I love Andrew Barrett's writing! I started out with the Eddie Collins series and was hooked immediately! The characters are well developed and complex and you can love and hate Eddie all in the same chapter! Andrew weaves some incredible stories in his books! I never can wait to finish but I also don't want the story to end! Andrew has cost me more than a few hours of sleep at night because I'm always saying just one more chapter before I go to sleep! The one more chapter quickly turns into 20 more chapters! Give Andrew a read and you'll keep asking for more!

Andrew Barrett is one of the best crime mystery authors out there. I’m a big fan of his Eddie Collins series. I feel the author puts a lot of himself into this character. Eddie Collins is brilliant and has a wicked sense of humor. But he does have a soft side that will show thru occasionally. I love the authors attention to detail too. His books pull you in from page one and you cannot stop reading until the end. His books are never long enough for me. They are heart pounding but each a brilliant read! I wait impatiently for each new release.

Andrew Barrett writes my type of fiction with flawed, gritty characters, excellent plots and some of the best unpredictable endings anywhere.
Twice I have started books in the afternoon and finished them in the wee small hours, just could not put them down.
