Nightmare later resolved

Update_ eventually, 9 hours later got a link to meet with a doc and it was very good, doctor was great.
It made up somewhat for the massive hassle onboarding with the system.
Just spent an hour on three separate calls and they cannot even send me an email.. their email system doesn’t work and the app has the same issue.. they tried to set up an appointment for me over the phone but because I have a ten dollar copay and they are not allowed to take the copay their system won’t allow them to set up a telehealth call- so they bumped my case to the managers who only can communicate through email but since the email doesn’t work, there is no way I can use my telehealth benefit- total scam rip off company!!!!

Don't waste your money!

I called to save money from going to quick care. I have a cough, temp and headache. Charged me 68.00 then told me they couldn't treat me and I need to go to quick care. Well now I can't because I paid them 68.00 for nothing. Don't waste your money!

Charged for service they didn't provide

Their website says they treat UTIs via Telehealth, when seen by the Dr, for all of 5 minutes, the Doctor said she couldn't treat UTIs over Telehealth, after they charged us for the visit. They won't respond to our emails complaining that it's false advertising and they won't file a claim or provide us one to file with our insurance company. Don't use this company unless you want to be charged for services they won't provide.

DON'T EVEN BOTHER UNLESS YOU LIKE GIVING MONEY AWAY!

It was a total waist of my time and money. I explained to the doctor that I had a UTI and he told me there was no way he could prove it. i even provided an at home test that I'm clearly looking at that said positive with a purple mark and a light pink mark, he told me that the pink was yellow,I asked him if he could see clearly. I went to my reg obgyn after suffering the entire weekend with a horrible UTI and I was given Macrobid for my UTI. Thats all the Amwell telehealth doc had to do. I really miss Teledoc, they would have never I mean NEVER done me like Amwell Telehealth did!!!!! I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!!

Could never get appointment

I scheduled a telehealth call. When I got the call, it said provider could not see me and routed me to customer service where they told me that I needed to re-request the appointment. I did so and never got a call. After 30 minutes, I tried to request a video call and the website just kept spinning. This happened over a course of 2 hours and I gave up to go to Teledoc.

I explained that I am dealing with a severe dental situation that requires surgery, when asked what he could do for me— he declined extending my leave a week for recovery.

I explained that I am dealing with a condition requiring surgical intervention and asked whether a basic medical letter could be provided—even with a delayed date (the 8th). John J. Kang responded only, “I can’t give you a letter like that,” without reviewing records, imaging, or performing any clinical assessment.

No explanation of limitations was offered. No alternatives were suggested. The visit ended without evaluation.

Refusing to acknowledge a patient awaiting surgery—without assessment or explanation—defeats the purpose of telehealth entirely.

Poor Quality

Ordered Hearing aids from Apple Advertising.
Poor delivery : lots of feeble excuses.
Product was not working on one side.
Reached out to company and got offers of discount but no easy way to return. This went on for weeks until I threatened a code 75 charge back on my credit card.
Only then did they provide a return address. I had to pay international delivery charges.

Wish I could give zero stars

Wish I could give zero stars. Poor service began with connection issues for a telehealth appointment. Waited 30 mins only to disconnect. Tried again and was told to hang up and call back. Called back and told to try once more with different video settings. After all that, was double-charged for one connection. Spent the last 3 weeks and countless phone calls and emails trying to get the extra charge removed from my credit card. Got different information each time I called. When I didn't get the refund in the promised 3-5 business days, called abck and was told it takes 30 days. This is a nutshell - there is so much more that I will not bother to type out here. In the end, called my credit card this morning and in 30 seconds got the charge removed. Will not be using Amwell again.

Save your ti my e and money- a waste

The connection wasn’t great- the doctor’s tendency to mumble made it difficult to hear-took several minutes to upload my pictures and then it seemed as if he could not see them clearly or did not look at them. He was often rubbing his face as if tired or bored during the 10 min call. He seemed disinterested about the serious bite I received at the beach and the progression of symptoms over the last 48 hrs. Finally he said “oh, you probably need to go to urgent care”. He seemed uninterested, uniformed and it was a waste of time and money!

Providers aren't the issue here

Providers aren't the issue here, the company is. The company has a terrible website and interface that it uses. Regular issues with either me or the provider having trouble connecting. It asks questions that delay time with the provider if you don't opt out. They claim that you won't be billed until the end of your appointment, they actually bill you the MOMENT your appointment starts.
The most recent billing issue with them has cost me $85 when it should have been $8.50. The app couldn't confirm my insurance when I logged in for my appointment but said that they would 'verify with my insurance BEFORE billing' me. They did not and billed me the $85 the MOMENT the appointment started even though their system was unable to verify my insurance information.
If you cancel an appointment last minute, you are subject to a cancelation fee... so telling me that it's $85 but we'll check with your insurance and hanging cancel fees over me is just extortion and the charge is a fraud.
There's no phone number to call for billing, you're given a case and told that you'll get a response in 1-3 weeks... I'll end up having to dispute this charge with my credit card company.

Love the IDEA. Overall disappointed.

Overall, love the idea of telehealth. Overall, not impressed with Amwell due to several reasons.

A) Trouble finding mental health provider that can continually see me. Not many mental health providers overall.

B) Bad customer service. I've had a payment issue when they charged full amount when insurance should cover majority. When I logged a customer service ticket to Amwell, they closed it without contacting me.

C) Mental health provider stood me up. Waited for 15 minutes... provider never showed up. Her name was Jennifer Green, FYI. She has the best availability... maybe it was for a reason. When I called customer service... they told me I should use the app and that's the best experience... I was confused because that wasn't the issue at all... it was that the provider never showed up.

Ridiculously bad

Visit with provider was fine. It was getting the prescription called in to my pharmacy that was a 3 day fiasco, 4 case numbers, 2 supervisors and finally a refusal on my part to hang up the phone until this was resolved and I could confirm the prescription was called in before hanging up. I won’t use them again and fully intend to complain to United Healthcare as this is the company they recommended for use.

Go See a Dr

I called with congestion, sore throat, fever and chills. Swollen sinuses and glands. Expected antibiotics for what is clearly an infection. Was told to go see a Dr. Thought that was what I was doing.

Unprofessional/Next Day Prescription

Unprofessional/Next Day Prescription. I used virtual visit for first time this year. After 3 virtual visits and same experience every time. I don't get my prescription until the next day and that's only after calling and constantly asking about the prescription which should be ready in an hour per the doctor. I would not recommend them unless you can wait a day or 2 for medication to get you better.
