Great product and AMAZING customer sevice

I've had an dramur for a while. Fantastic bit of kit. Easy to set up and gives a genuinely flat and therefore comfortable nights sleep.
I managed to rip it on some brambles while I was out camping. I emailed Amok to see if they could repair it and how much. They couldn't have been more helpful. They promised to repair it and arranged for a courier to come and pick it up and ship it to them. I sent it off. Then a day or so ago they emailed to say that to save me waiting for the repair to be done would I like an entirely new replacement hammock? And if so what colour? That's pretty awesome customer service.

Hi there Jimmy!
We're happy to hear you've had a good nights sleep and that our customer service team has been able to help you out in need!

We repair all hammocks that are sent back to us, and later on we sell them in our outlet. Due to a transition between offices and looking for a new repair partner this summer we've had to send out a few new hammocks instead of returning a repaired one. We have to make sure our customers can get out camping when the weather is warm and comfortable ;)

Excellent products, quick delivery, accurate information

I received my Amok kit (Draumr 5.0 Hammock + Fjol Ultralight Mat + Skjold 10 Tarp) exactly one week ago. I already camped for two nights and looking forward to the third one this weekend. Here’s my experience so far:

INFORMATION ON AMOK’S WEBSITE, YOUTUBE AND OTHER REVIEWS ON INTERNET:
I wanted to transition from tent camping to hammock camping and wanted to buy the best quality and most comfortable hammock. I did around two months of research, and based on many reviews it seemed that Amok Draumr is the most comfortable camping hammock with top quality materials and engineering. After my first week with the hammock kit (hammock + mat + tarp) I found all of the positive information and reviews to be true. Amok’s website is full of detailed and correct description of products. So, if you want to save time, start your research there.

DELIVERY:
I ordered the kit on Tuesday night, and received it on Friday noon. It took only 2.5 days to arrive from Sweden to Cyprus.

FACT CHECK - DRAUMR 5.0:
Does Draumr have a really flat sleeping surface? Yes.
Is it really comfortable? Yes.
Does it offer amazing views? Oh my!
Is the material top quality: It feels so.
Is there really a lot of storage space within the hammock? Yes

EXPERIENCE:
Friday night in the garden: I was worried about getting in and out of Draumr, and also how stable it is once I’m in (would I slip out of it etc?) I highly recommend that you watch the videos about how to get in and out. They helped me a lot. But still, when I first tried to climb into the hammock I fell down in my first try. However there was no pain because I set it to a low height :) So, set it low when you are just learning that skill.

After several practices of moving in and out, I felt ready enough to sleep in it. Once I was in for sleep, it felt very stable and secure. I never felt wobbly. I had a toilet break in the middle of the night and easily moved out and then back (remember: I practiced that skill beforehand, which is a must)

Sunday night, my first wild camp with Amok. I was so confident with my experience first night that I set it up relatively high to avoid the fabric touching the ground when I’m moving in and out. I discovered that when I was turning from my back to my side while in the lying posture I was unintentionally pushing down the hammock with my feet and the lower part of the hammock was folding down from the line level with my knees. If I hadn’t set it up that high, this would cause the fabric touch the ground. So, you either need to clean the ground beforehand or make sure you set the hammock high enough to avoid any potential damage or dirt. Sleeping was easy and joyful (I loved the very gentle, occasional rocking movement) When I woke up, I thought I was sleeping in a space ship with a huge windshield around the deck. I had uninterrupted views of the mountains all around me. In fact the view was impressive even with the bug net in use (I hadn’t used the tarp this time because there was no dew or rain). You have very wide, open views whether you are in the sleeping or sitting set up. After this experience, sleeping in a tent might feel claustrophobic!

IMPACT ON SLEEP DURATION
This week I slept two nights in Amok Draumr 5.0, and five nights in my bed at home. When I was in Draumr I was too excited and joyful to fall into sleep soon. When I was in my bed, I was thinking where to set up my Draumr next weekend, so again it took a long time to fall asleep. I hope as I continue to camp with Draumr I will get used to the joy and I will plan less so that I can sleep earlier.

ULTRALIGHT MAT & TARP
I believe I did the right thing by buying the whole kit from Amok. Their mat and tarp was an excellent fit for the hammock as expected. They also feel top quality and design so far. I found inflating the mat very easy as I put it over the ridgeline and as I stood up during the process (much easier than doing it kneeling in a tent). It took 5 or 6 times of compressing the bag to fill the mat completely.

Overall:
- Amazing amazing views
- Very comfortable and flat sleeping experience
- Speedy delivery, top quality material, fantastic design
- Risk of excess joy
- Addiction to be outdoors, swinging in a spaceship like bed hanging between the trees

I hope Amok starts organising camping events for Draumers so that we can come together and share experiences.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a detailed review of our Draumr hammock!

We hope you've been able to calm your excitement a little and that you've gotten a good nights sleep in the Draumr during the summer!

There are some Draumr hammock Facebook-groups, maybe you'll find someone there, in your area who wants to join a Draumr camp ;) We'll also make a note of your suggestion.

Makes sure you can take care of your Amok

I lost a part for my Amok while camping outside this winter and contacted them for their spare parts. They answered so fast and offered pictures of items that would work. Very supportive and makes me feel like Amok is something that can stay with you in your camping life journey.

Fantastic products

Fantastic products, very well made, quick and easy to setup. They really feel like they are designed by people who get out and use them, people who are outdoor enthusiasts and that really does create a brilliant product.

For this year I wanted to go for a lighter and more compact system, that was still able to hang between two trees as I just love hammock camping.
In traditional hammocks which I have been using for years now, my back and knees were not coping any more with the curved sleeping position.
After a lot of research the Amok was really the system that ticked all the boxes, the Haven hammock tent was a cool idea but far too heavy for the hiking that I do.
The Draumr also does not need an underquilt, so in the colder months here in Scotland a sleep system that utilises a sleeping pad is much more compact.

I first of all bought the XL Draumr 5.0 with the UL sleeping pad, with the idea of just keeping on using my DD tarps 4x4M multicam tarp. However, although this setup did work for many overnight trips, the weight, size and difficulty getting it back in the stuff sack did make me want to try out Amok’s Skjold 10 tarp, a bit more money but after watching their YouTube video’s on how they design and produce it I was convinced. So I purchased the Skjold 10 multicam and waw, less than half the size and weight of the DD tarp, granted it is a smaller tarp, but the Skjold is in a different quality league.
I used to run a quick deploy ridgeline and carve all my tarp pegs out of deadwood. With this tarp though, it’s so light and compact that I just leave the pegs it comes with in the bag and use them, which has halved my setup time, so yet another bonus.
I would highly recommend this system for anyone who would like a compact & lightweight hammock system, never mind the fact that you also lie flat!
Another bonus for the Ultralight Draumr is the 360 degree vision you get as you can see through the hammock material, it makes waking up with the sunrise in the morning a very special experience, and I always have a good look around to spot any wildlife that might be near by- usually some deer here in Scotland.
I have just bought the winter light sleeping pad, my ultralight one has not given in to the cold temperatures, but as it is getting down to around -5 Celsius here now I would rather not push it to its limit and have a pad with a higher R rating to ensure I do not get cold overnight!

I will no doubt be buying this system for my partner next year so we can go Amok camping together next year!

I look forward to watching how Amok progresses as a company and the products they offer. I would love it if they designed a sleeping bag for the Amok, I currently use the DD Jura 2 sleeping bag, and I must say using a product that is designed for hammock use is much much better! However, it is very big and bulky, taking up all that spare space my Amok system had created in my bag!

What would also be very cool would be something like the Zenbivi system, where amok made attachments points on the Draumr for a quilt. Or a quilt that could zip up and down the side of the sleeping pad would also be very cool!

Anyway, enough said. A very happy customer, I have also found their customer service to be top notch!

Very good product, really great design and space fast to instal but sometimes its a little bit hard to find a good position but you just need to practice and find your balance point but when you have it... its a bed between the trees !, a real bed
sleeping pads are fat and comfort never get cold ❄ juste a crazy inovation for hamoc lovers for me this product help you a lot to find an easy and a beautifull way to go for a nice camping trip
A little bit heavy and expensive, because its really well finish and strong 😁
