Trust your gut- low price- this offer won't last. walk away

When a salesperson says this price is only good for two hours, one should walk away. I did not. I paid a deposit for a move that had wildly different quotes. Amerisafe was at the lower end. When I decided i didn't want to hire them- I was within the 72 hour window to cancel. Which i did. When I called to confirm the cancellation- which i was told to do via email. -- I got yelled at, challenged and treated about as rudely as i have ever been treated. When I asked to speak to his supervisor i was told he was the supervisor. I told him to cancel my contract and refund the money now, or i would go through the credit card company. He demanded to know why I was canceling - I told him it was not his business. Best to walk away from this company

Do not even think about using…

Do not even think about using Amerisafe. They are the worst and should be shut down. They increased the estimate 3x from 19K to 36K for our move from Washington to California. They are extremely unprofessional. They send folks who clearly have no moving experience. It could not have been a worse experience. Run as fas as you can.

DO NOT EVER use AmeriSafe Moving and…

DO NOT EVER use AmeriSafe Moving and Storage, or Ocean Moving and Storage.
My salesman at the broker, AmeriSafe, Mark Edwards, was very pleasant and persuasive. He convinced me that AmeriSafe would be the best option for my move from Florida to Colorado, but the experience turned out to be a nightmare.
I will admit that I should have insisted on a signed estimate for delivery, and I did not. But Mark knew how important a fairly accurate delivery date was because I never missed a chance to remind him that I had special needs... a medical condition required me to have all plastic boxes and furniture cleaned before they were taken into the house on arrival. A team of people had to be ready to do that, not only for my needs, but to help keep the delivery team on time. He led me to believe it could possibly arrive on my preferred date (Aug. 2), or the day after. But when his colleague called 3 days before pick-up, she almost laughed when I told her that. She said there was No WAY it would be there that soon. I let Mark know she’d said that, and he told me he’d call them and get back to me. He never did.
Two days AFTER the pick-up by Ocean movers, I got an email from Ocean who said they were sending me a previously agreed on schedule (which I had NEVER seen before), saying it was possible that my things could arrive as much as 16 business days from the first available date for drop-off that I had given them (Aug. 2). They gave me a portal where I could check on the status, which I used, but never received a reply from. On Aug. 5 I got a phone call saying they would probably be loading the truck at the warehouse back in Florida (where my things were) within 24 hours. But in 24 hours I got a call saying the truck was actually in Colorado and would be arriving the next day. So, I had 24 hours to try to find the team of people to do the cleaning of the boxes. Fortunately I was able to do that, but the damages were rampant: A broken TV, glass covering a large painting broken into bits, an 18-inch cement Buddha statue in 3 PIECES, (how does THAT happen?), a bent metal leg on a bar stool, and a bent metal base of a lamp. I’m also missing an item or two.
So, I would never use a broker again. Not sure, but I probably overpaid for doing that. Mark was deceitful, not overtly but by omission. Ocean’s right hand doesn’t know what its left hand is doing. And great care was DEFINITELY not taken.
If you insist on using them BUY INSURANCE. I didn’t. To add insult to injury, I had to pay a notary $15, which was about 40% of the reimbursement I finally received for all the damaged items.

This Vile company stole 7g of my money

This Vile company stole 7g of my money, breached the contract, lied and the salesman ghosted me. My furniture was severely damaged and never made it out of Florida. According to contract signed on 11/2 to use my CC was a 4% charge. they charged me 7% and then only refunded me 2%. Lied about taking "Postal Money Orders" for Final payment. After I just wrote a name on the money orders, Lauren who is a total con artist lied and said I could not change them. This company only wants Venmo or Cash. that is the first clue of a SCAM. When I contracted on 11/2, unknowingly for this scam, I was told my items would be in TN before Christmas. After they picked up Tuesday 12/17, I found my items were taken to some warehouse in Florida and just sat there. I was in TN waiting for my items on 12/18 - the week before Christmas and when I called to find out when the items would be getting to TN I was told the items would NOT be scheduled to go to TN until after Christmas. The company could not give me a date of when I would see my items. I had them return my items mostly damaged to my home in Florida but they held the items hostage until they got their "full payment". Only 1 piece of furniture was blanketed and tied down. The metal rolling cabinet had all 4 wheels cracked and broken upon return. this cabinet left debris in the truck and you know the items were broken during transport. Boxes and plastic tubs were crushed. Found out later this company started using this "NEW" name in 2024 to rename their SCAM for more money! RUN AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. SELF PACKING IS SO MUCH BETTER AND EASIER.

Nickolay and his team were incredibly

Nickolay and his team were incredibly. They communication before and then during the pick up was perfect. They were on time and so professional. They took great care and patience of my possessions and I really enjoyed meeting them. I would 1000% use them again.

Beware of Amerisafe

Amerisafe kept my money for a move that I canceled when I found out they lied about the type of move. They claim my cancelation was outside of the 72 hour policy. I beg to differ, and d as a recently retiree, who is a widow i misunderstood terms. They kept my money anyway. Need I say more? Don't do business with them. They even called and asked me to change my review and they would give me a 500.00 credit. Clearly devoid of integrity.

I might win the award for "The worst…

I might win the award for "The worst experience in moving ever!" Almost everything of mine they were responsible for wrapping was broken and damaged. They farmed me out to little movers who may or may not be reputable, as they wrapped the glass backwards so everything was smashed. The customer service is awful and they literally do not care about you or your belongings...They just want your money and then blame you for committing to them. There is little recourse for these shady companies and I hope you stay away so you don't lose thousands of dollars like I did. Not to mention they held my stuff forever and would not give me a delivery date...then everything arrived filthy and broken....

Very Pushy and Felt Like a Scam

Was shopping around for movers like any other person would do when I called them and asked basic questions. He gave me a quote and I asked for it to be emailed to me for my reference. He kept persisting that it's late (3 weeks before move date) and asking how many other estimates I had from other movers and pushing me to book with him now. I refused to give him details and stated if he didn't want to send me an email quote and I'm not going to book now. He called me "testy" and I hung up on him. I dodged a bullet. Do not recommend!

Experience with Amerisafe: Skip the broker

Experience with Amerisafe:
I had a disappointing experience with Amerisafe, a brokerage service that estimates moving costs and connects customers with moving/storage companies. My insights may serve as a cautionary tale for others considering this route.
Key Issues Faced:
Brokerage Model: Amerisafe acts as a broker, which means the specific moving company is only revealed shortly before the move, limiting the ability to conduct thorough research on the contracted providers or make changes prior to your move.
Sales Practices: The sales representative employed high-pressure tactics and made verbal assurances that were not reflected in the contract, creating significant confusion and frustration. They noted we would have a team of 6 packers (3800 sf home) and that was not the case. They noted that there was more than enough room on the truck for all our belongings which ended up not being the case. In short take anything they verbally note with a grain of salt especially if it is not in the contract. Additionally note that the contract is just an "estimate" and will like end up costing you more.
Packing Quality:Despite promises of trained, bonded, and insured packers, the actual service did not meet these expectations. The packing was poorly executed, contributing to damage and disorganization.
Underestimation of Costs: The original cost estimate was significantly lower than the final charges, with an underestimation of 36% that resulted in an unexpected additional cost of $17,000. This included various additional fees for packing materials and oversized items, even though these were previously mentioned in the contract.
Lack of Support: Amerisafe's contract notes they are to be contacted prior to loading should assistance in resolving disputes regarding additional charges provided by the moving company be required. Their support was more than inadequate and I was left to handle these issues independently, eventually requiring legal action for remediation.

Recommendation:
I strongly recommend obtaining estimates directly from moving and storage companies rather than utilizing a broker like Amerisafe. This approach can lead to greater transparency and better control over the moving process.
