Stomach pain and headache
I've been taking Amberen for about a month on a recommendation from a colleague. I noticed some stomach discomfort here and there at first, but now even if I only take 1 of the 2 capsules on a full stomach, I have intense burning in my stomach. I'm noticing a headache/pressure as an additional symptom which started later. Will stop taking it, as it doesn't agree with me. Didn't notice significant reduction in symptoms.

Has anyone used Amberen to slow or stop bleeding from irregular periods?

Anyone else try to switch over from the peri menopause to the menopause pills ? I thought it was time but I’m having terrible results with the orange ones . I’m thinking of just sticking with the purple ones ? The bloat and constipation is terrible 😢

My daily hot flashes stopped two days after I began taking Amberen and I haven't had one since. I have energy and my mood has improved. I thought I was going crazy with menopause and now I feel I am back to my old self. No side affects.

I was taking the capsules but thought the gummies would be a better alternative. They taste absolutely disgusting!!!! I can’t get past the taste to tolerate them to see if they would work. Definitely going back to the capsules. Amberen, please work on the taste of these gummies, I’m sure more women would take them if they tasted edible by humans.
Intense limb pain, headache, nausea...
I normally do not write product reviews but my reaction to this product was so severe, I knew I needed to let others know. The first day I took it I did feel calmer. The first night I woke up with restless legs, something I never do, and the start of a migraine. Second day, again, felt calmer, but migraine started to worsen and nausea began. Second night I was up for hours in the most intense pain I've ever experienced. It felt like my whole body was restless and needed to stretch, but when I tried, the pain was excruciating. Like, to point of crying. I spent the entire day in bed, popping ibuprofen. It is now the fourth day since I took the first dose and I'm still in pain. Still have headache. My body did not like whatever is in this. So please use caution.
I have tried numerous menopausal treatments, OTC and estradiol patches.…
I have tried numerous menopausal treatments, OTC and prescription estradiol patches. They all made me bloated, gave me migraines and swell up. The Amberen works by causing your brain to fix (balance) your own hormones. Ive read other women reporting mood issues and bloat and it may be bringing cycles back on line and we feel hormonal changes. I did have issues with the Amberen early on, which I expected from other reviews, but this was my last hope and I was determined to try it. I started out taking it once every 3 days for a week and a half, then once every two days for a week and a half, then every day; making sure I stayed hydrated really well so the MSG and hormonal changes wouldn't bother me. I started out with bad headaches and skin burning on my upper lip and arm (I had headaches with the other stuff too) but as I desensitized to the supplement they got less and less and after a month I started feeling great. Drinking water always helps flush out toxins and extra hormones when we feel irritated. Walking 20-30 minutes most days helps with hot flashes no matter what you're taking. My hormones are now not in perpetual PMS all the time. I have more energy and less food sensitivities and cravings, I even had my first glass of wine in ages without flaring. My stomach is not bloated anymore, even if I eat bread, and I am now able to do floor exercises again and walk on the treadmill without shortness of breath. I don't care if I start having cycles again, I feel so much better and my hot flashes went from 5 an hour to 5 a day and mostly only at night. Just give it time and start slow. The headaches, I believe, were from hormonal changes with all the treatments I tried, but they got better with hydration and ibuprofen and I eventually stopped getting them as my hormones started balancing out. I'm only on week 5 and read that it can take up to 12 weeks to fully work.

I was taking pre menopause amberen for 3 days, on the 3rd day I felt super bloated, very uncomfortable feeling and severe diarrhea. I took anti-diarrhea x2 just to stop the diarrhea. This pill is not for me😩

Unfortunately this didn’t work out for me. I have been extremely nauseous, diarrhea and had a panic attack. I will no longer take it. So disappointed ☹️
Depression worsened as a side effect? Maybe
I have 5 days left of my 30 day supply and wondering if this is what's causing my suddenly very depressed mood. I do take antidepressants that have controlled my depression up until now.
The first few days I started taking this i felt pretty good, less irritable and no night sweats. Maybe it was a placebo effect? I felt fine until yesterday.
I'm 44 and started getting peri-menopause symptoms last year -- hot flashes and night sweats mainly. I was hoping this would help me delay menopause for a little while. I haven't had a period since February/March. I'm going to stop taking this for a few days and see what happens.
I hate going to the doctor but I think I should have talked to one before taking this.

I just took my first two pills about 40 min ago. I am guessing I don’t react well to herbal supplements. I am currently on a roller coaster of crying that I can’t control. I know it’s coming but i can’t stop it. I had this reaction one other time in my life and that’s when the Dr put me on an antidepressant for migraines. Please be cautious when you use this. I had high hopes but it’s not for me.
MASSIVE MIGRAINE
One an only, first and last dose I will ever take. MASSIVE migraine. Took in morning, by lunch the pain increased from my eye into my teeth and neck. I haven't had a headache in 10 years, this was definitely the amberen. Has niacin or L Carnatine. Will make your blood pressure shoot through the roof. Not good for my body chemistry. Buyer beware.
Been on this for 3 weeks
Been on this for 3 weeks. It did stop hot flashes pretty much at night. Other than that I have felt extremely bloated (look 9 weeks pregnant) with horrible gas and constipated since taking it. I've also been getting headaches every day that nothing relieves. I have been extremely tired to the point of falling asleep at my desk or at a red light starting about 2 in the afternoon...it only started since taking this.

I used amberen for over a month I had some headaches and nausea still had some hot flashes it gave me energy still have irritability I still liked the product but it made me gain weight I workout in vain while taking this product so I’m very disappointed in the product because it was helping me before I started taking it I had no energy now I’m sad because I have to choose between having energy and no hot flashes and etc. or gaining weight this sucks i thought I had a good product to address all my menopause symptoms is what the box stated sooooooo disappointed 😩😩😩 Lisa W.
Since starting was excited
Since starting was excited. This is my 3rd product to combat tired and hot flashes. I’m even more tired, have become irritable and extreme painful abdominal pain with gas. Not good for my IBS.
Amberen works well for me
Amberen works well for me. Takes a bit to get into your system. But I notice a huge difference in my mood and the severity of hot flashes is improving. Sleeping better too. Have not notice weight loss but I'm happy just to be able to sleep better and not feel like I'm going to spontaneously combust!
I was using this product for two weeks…
I was using this product for two weeks when I began to notice being very tired and having leg pain and weakness. I noticed on week three how difficult it was to get around and started to have nausea. I stopped taking this product and began to feel like myself. I think it's better to suffer from hot flashes then to be as sick and tired as I was.
SO AWFUL PLEASE DO NOT BUY…
SO AWFUL PLEASE DO NOT BUY PERIMENOPAUSE!!
I can't begin to describe how awful my experience with Amberen perimenopause has been. Why isn't zero or negative stars an option?? I started taking Estroven peri but since I have endo, its not recommended - which is when I switched to Amberen peri. First couple of days were ok, started getting hot flashes during the second week and stopped taking it - which is where this story should have ended.
I resumed a couple of weeks later (thinking something else was causing the flashes) and took it for nearly a month. When I resumed, I took for an additional three weeks (to my detriment). I have HBP and taking Amberen peri made me feel as if I was cooking in my skin. It increased my anxiety and agitation to extreme levels, making EVERYTHING an overwhelming experience reducing me to cowering & crying. I was afraid to eat (trying to eat made me choke), I couldn't sleep and felt as if I was burning up on the inside. I've been off it for at least a week now and its SLOWLY exiting my system.
The company does a nice job of hiding these reviews because it took me three google searches to locate this site. This supplement is trash! Please avoid!
Not very sure about this product I…
Not very sure about this product I bought it cuz my hormones were all out of wack and my periods were crazy, this was supposed to normalize my hormones but I have been bleeding out of control for 6 days now and my periods only used to last 3-4…they are extremely heavy like water flowing I’m getting off this NOW
I started taking Amberen 3-4 months…
I started taking Amberen 3-4 months ago. About the same time I noticed I was very agitated and tense and was having issues sleeping. Along with that my lower a done to started getting bigger. I weighted 100 pounds and was super skinny. Now I look 7 months pregnant. Have had all kinds of tests. Just today it realized the stomach thing started when I started Amberen. I have a soft mass on the right lower abdomen as well. I have stopped and pray my stomach goes back to normal. I had no idea I was taking MSG daily!! That is so bad for your health. I would not recommend this product.
