Altra Federal Credit Union Reviews 

Some impersonated Altra Federal Credit Union, called me from Altra's number, and proceeded to steal money from my account. Drained every cent.

Altra was not able to do anything for me. Shouldn't there already be a procedure for cases like this? I'm sure it's happened to Altra members before.

I called many different department's and was transferred to many different departments but absolutely no one was able to give me a direct answer or anything that could help me and my situation.

It really bothers me that there is a daily limit on transactions using a debit. Also, the fraud department can barely speak English even though it's India's primary language. Yep, they offshore their fraud group. This is scary as a lot of scams come from Indian call centers. Yet they are the ones keeping the fraudsters away? Good luck trying to use a pay app with your account. I can't get a simple Venmo to go thru even after talking to member services and the fraud group multiple times. Their service has a lot to be desired these days. As soon as possible, I'm moving to a different CU after 20+ years as this has gotten out of control. I had to scrap Google Pay as Altra kept flagging the transaction when I tried using it and bounced me back and forth between departments. Now it's the same with trying to use Venmo. Save yourself the headache and hours of wasted time and look for a different CU or bank to manage your funds. You'll be thankful!

Jackie Is THE BEST!! i was having a rough time this year financially and I was behind on my car loan payments. I was so stressed with all of the things happening in my life i thought my only option was to default on my loan and give up my car! Jackie not only helped me with a plan to keep my car and still make payments but gave me the encouraging words I needed to hear in my darkest hours! She is truly a diamond amongst coals!

Tried making a payment on a loan over the phone and there's a $10 service charge... Went online to try and make an account and the page wouldn't load, so ended up paying the $10 fee to pay as a "guest". Making your customers pay a fee just to PAY their loan. Smart business decision..

Since I live in Texas and there are no banks near us and yet the people in the bank manage to make it seem like I am in the lobby right therel I have had my accounts here for more than 20 years, with CD's and savings, etc.

Have gotten a number of big loans through Altra federal credit Union in Tyler and Bank there. Everything has always went smooth and never had to even go in the door. Now thats convenience.

I love Altra always so nice and willing to help.

First..I had a hard time understanding the customer service rep. Secondly..I was eventually told that my phone # was not correct, amazingly my phone # has not changed! Its been the same for years! Then I'm to call customer service to help me and I WAS talking to the customer service #!! So frustrating! So end of story, I didnt have any progress on my 3rd try & gave up. Woe is me!!

I have a couple of loans through them. Rates and everything were good. My car broke down, so I canceled the insurance on it for 2 months while it got fixed. I still made the payments on the car. Without any calls or anything, they had a very expensive insurance thing to my loan and doubles my payment. I tried calling a few times and got basically no answers for awhile. I made my normal car payments every month, but now my credit shows 6 months of missed payments, and they are no help.
I’m in the midst of trying to get a new loan through them, and it takes more than 24 hours for them to respond to each email reply. Slowest process I’ve been apart of when it comes to a loan.

My debit card gets flagged for fraud on at least 1 purchase online a month. Just because I use google wallet does not mean it is FRAUD!!!!!!!

The worse bank in Winona. completely not friendly. Want to argue with their customers, especially in front of other customers tellers are rude and don’t know how to do their jobs. I would not recommend this bank to anyone.
