There is NO WAY I would every use them

There is NO WAY I would every use this company! I tried to return a call & ask questions about the move & the contact at (419) 897-4019 was unbelievably rude me & said he did not want my business. Totally unprofessional & and disrespectful. No one should use this company for any type of move.

Local labor almost always sucks as do the drivers

Estimation/sales went fine. Came to moving day, turns out the move coordinator was useless and AWOL. Finally got a supervisor, found out hours after they were due, the local agent's driver quit. Allied blamed it on the local agent and did nothing we were aware of; they never called back, never would've called us, either. Ended up calling the salesperson who pushed the local agent to come out and load us up, but the local labor cancelled out, so we had an operations manager and office help tagging and prepping our stuff. The next day, the operations manager and local labor came and did what we thought was an okay job. Turns out they did a ton of damage. More than we ever had before. Allied themselves is kind of useless. We've worked with Allied and Mayflower. They both suck. Make sure the local agent is good, because that's who you are dependent on for loading. Local labor is key and a wild card and they mostly suck everywhere you go.

Title:Worst Company Ever - Dont move with them

Title:
Avoid Allied Van Lines / Coleman Worldwide Moving – Over $10,000 in Damages, Zero Accountability

Review:
My experience with Allied Van Lines and their agent Coleman Worldwide Moving was nothing short of a nightmare. I hired them for a full-service long-distance move from Texas to Florida — and what I got was crushed boxes, broken furniture, missing items, and serious damage to my home.

They never told me they were storing my belongings in a warehouse or switching trucks midway through the move. When everything finally arrived, it was clear things had been mishandled:
• King adjustable bed – destroyed.
• Custom furniture imported from Brazil – broken.
• Mattress – arrived unprotected, ripped, and unusable.
• Headboard, dresser, buffet, washer/dryer – all damaged.
• Even my flooring and front door frame were ruined during the move-in.

The total cost of replacements and repairs was over $10,000 — and I have the receipts to prove it. I submitted a claim in September 2024. For weeks, they were completely unresponsive. Only after I filed formal complaints through external consumer protection channels did they finally start replying.

When they did respond, their evaluation was absurd. They offered just $1,863.97 after deductibles — barely enough to replace one major item. They treat your belongings like they’re worth nothing and take zero responsibility for the damage they cause.

Their claim process is slow, dismissive, and deeply frustrating. If you value your time, your peace of mind, and especially your possessions, do not trust Allied Van Lines or Coleman Worldwide Moving. There are better, more responsible moving companies out there.

I have all the pictures to prove. Shame company, Not reliable. They destroy your belongings and say it's not their responsibility.

Won't stop calling you

Filled out contact form.
Received instantly a phone call. Person had a broken English. Person was not really friendly, just told me that they will need to send an agent to my location so they can take note of the things we have. Before that they can't issue a quote (yea whatever). I said ok.
Next day, they called me again. I told them they already called me and I already said I'd call them back if I'm interested. They apologized and hang up.

Guess what, next day, they called me again. And again. And again. And again.
To this day I always get a call at 8:00am. Blocking the phone number unfortunately didn't solve the issue because they just spam your voicemail.

They might be a good company in terms of delivery. But in regards to customer service, I can tell you, they're terrible.

Do not waste your money

Look, I know moving is expensive, and Allied talks a good game, leaves you a nice folder and is a lower quote than some of the other full service movers. But they contract out to other packers and movers, and these people don't always know what they're doing. Our stuff was left behind, broken and lost in transit, and not reassembled upon arrival. We also were delivered two additional packages that are not ours. I told them immediately, but I'm sorry Miss Abigail, no one cares enough at Allied to get your crafts and wine glasses back to you. I am working through the claims process, but it is tedious and frankly for the amount of money I spent I don't want homework.

Don't ever use this company!

Don't ever use this company!! They are the absolute worst. My items were collected from Hong Kong in May, four months ago and they still have not even given me a delivery date. Two weeks ago they had the gall to try to charge me over £800 for port congestion. I have been trying to dispute this and they cannot even bother to respond. Terrible, terrible company.

Terrible service

Terrible service. Unfortunately, my experience with Allied International-Boston (ABC), USA was not a good one. There was lack of or no customer service until it was time to collect the payment. They did not take responsibility and were either unresponsive to emails or responded with single sentences. (sometimes in all caps). The team in Boston did not respond to my emails for confirmation on the time and date of packing, so the movers showed up unannounced. To date, the main point of contact has never confirmed if we are in receipt of our international shipment. This company is terrible and only cares about the money. They couldn’t care less about the customer.

Do Not Recommend

We have used Allied Federal Companies for all of our residential moves since 2005. This last move will be the last time we use them. In June 2022, we contracted for 2 moves from our home in MO: half to SC and half to a new place in MO. We also contracted for help moving donations to the Salvation Army. As can happen, some of our items were damaged during the move to the new place in MO. We filed a small claim for those damaged items. Our move to SC was much more problematic. The truck arrived at the distribution center in SC, but they did not have the staff to move our items to our home. They told us they could not complete the move on time and would deliver two weeks later. As Allied Federal reps were aware at the time of contract, my husband would be flying down to meet the movers on the contracted dates and could not stay for an additional 2 weeks since he had to get back to MO to meet the other moving team. In addition to expenses for getting down to SC, we paid them close to $2000 for the local move in SC. Because of the failure to perform, we had to hire movers in SC to complete our move. To date, Allied Federal has not refunded the $2000 nor have they reimbursed us for the cost of hiring our own movers. Also luckily, we had nothing too fragile in the move to SC because the boxes were in terrible shape. Further, they denied 2 claims for the MO move damage. They denied our claim for a broken TV because they claim they did not pack it, even though they did and we paid for it, and for a torn couch based on a false claim that it was torn before the move. Allied bases for the denials are codes written on the inventory sheet by the moving team. Codes that happen to indicate EVERY piece of our furniture they moved was either already scratched, badly worn or torn before the move. Countless calls to customer service have gone unanswered. This has truly been so incredibly frustrating and unexpected. I cannot recommend them.

READ THIS BEFORE DOING BUSINESS WITH…

READ THIS BEFORE DOING BUSINESS WITH ALLIED VAN LINES/CAREY MOVING AND STORAGE. Allied Van Lines/Carey Moving & Storage has been the worst moving company we have ever hired! The cost of our move from NC to FL was $5,119.41 which included additional liability insurance that we purchased in the event our furniture was lost, damaged or stolen. During the move our expensive, quality wood bookcases were badly damaged. Their settlement offer for the damaged furniture was $925.00, not nearly enough. Their motto, "Carey carries carefully", more appropriately should be, Carey carries carelessly. Additionally, and worse yet, our treasured artwork was lost, two of which are irreplaceable oil paintings. When the company was made aware of our missing artwork their response was cold and detached and their apology insincere and meaningless. Communication regarding this matter has been virtually non-existent. I was told to file a complaint with the company. Valuable time lapsed during the complaint process. There was no real initiative by Allied Van Lines and Carey Moving and Storage to try to secure and return our missing art to us. Initially, I was informed by Joyce at Carey Moving & Storage, that the driver, John Karl, misdelivered our paintings to the wrong address and that our paintings were going to be located and returned to us. I was told that Shelly, at the Rock Hill Office or John Karl would be reaching out to us regarding our lost artwork. We never received a follow-up telephone call regarding this matter. When we requested compensation for the lost art, in the event the artwork was not returned to us, they have recanted that they ever advised us that the artwork was located. This company is disreputable and dishonest. Their refusal to compensate us for the lost artwork was based on my signing the inventory sheets on delivery day. I explained to the claims department at Allied and others at Carey Moving & Storage, that the driver, John Karl, instructed me to sign the sheets even though I had expressed concern that some of our furniture was damaged in transport and that I couldn't verify that we had received all our belongings. The driver, John Karl, misled me with his reassurance that by me signing the paperwork upon delivery that it would in no way impact any future claim for damaged or lost goods. I was ill advised by this company and I am now without my treasured art and no compensation for it even after paying for liability insurance. This company has unscrupulous, unethical business practices and takes advantage of its customers during a stressful, chaotic time preying on its customers' vulnerability. Their philosophy of caring for your belongings like their own is laughable. A true litmus test of how a company values its customers can be seen in how they handle customer complaints. This company rates an "F"! This company has a current back log of complaints. Read the reviews about this company on other sites ie Yelp, BBB, etc and you will find that there are many, many other very dissatisfied customers as well. If you value your furniture and belongings, do yourself an enormous favor and choose a different moving company to do business with.
