My college-age son and I had the best 8-day vacation ever with Alaska Adventure Unlimited. The choices were exceptional. We went to 3 glaciers, took a plane up to the base camp of Mt. McKinley/Denali, we went river rafting, hiking, traveled in the Gold Star glass-domed train, and visited the home/ranch of a famous Iditarod family (the Seavers no less). We did so much, in fact, that we were exhausted when we got home! I loved the small group we traveled with on the small but comfortable bus. Our tour guide was lovely and attended to every detail (and I mean above and beyond almost every day). We saw many grizzly bears in Denali and saw moose hiding almost everywhere. Once in Seward, we saw 3 of the famous Valdez oil spill orcas that are left. Very touching. Also saw plenty of sea lions and puffins! I would recommend this trip to anyone, young or old.

My dad and I loved this tour. It gave us a great taste of Alaska - with glaciers, wildlife, and adventure. It would have been nice to have been able to be a bit more active as there is a lot of driving but we saw it a compromise we had to make to cover so much ground.

All of the accommodation was fantastic, the meals were excellent and the service along the way was great.

The booking and communication with the company before the trip was also excellent. Highly recommended.

One of the best holidays of my life!
Alaska is awesome. I know the word is overused but it comes close to describing Alaska - the ranges dusted in snow, the glaciers, the wild life...I saw bears, caribou, deer, dahl sheep and moose...all in the wild as they are meant to be. It is hard to describe, even my photos (which are amazing) don't quite do it justice. We were among the last groups to see Mt McKinley, as it was officially re-named Denali, while we were there.
Our guide was Terry Boyle. Terry is a fountain of information about all things Alaska and he has the people skills required to work at the UN! Like all groups, ours had some 'unique' characters and challenges that he took in his stride. As we say in Australia....he is a top bloke!
All our accommodation was of a high standard, clean & cosy with breath-taking views of the ranges and lakes. The AAU chalets were a highlight - luxury and such a picturesque setting!
The meals that were included had options for the fussiest of eaters & various dietary requirements. I personally recommend the moose chilli & muckety-muck pie :)
The gold tour bus with its individual lounge seats, stereo and DVD was a comfortable way to travel. Terry had interesting snippets & stories to tell as we drove. I still remember the words to 'North to Alaska...', the original version of course!
I recommend NOT leaving Alaska too far down your bucket..

We could not have been happier with our trip. It was a long planned trip which included our family and we were not disappointed.
We loved the activities we chose and felt that each made our trip that much better.
Erica was terrific in meeting our wants and needs and helping us set everything up, even last minute changes.
The places we stayed were wonderful and all our meals were top of the line. We also very much enjoyed our driver Sheri, she made everything so easy and always at our beck and call.
I would recommend this company to anyone young or not so young without a moment of hesitation. Thanks again for wonderful memories for our entire family.

Title says it all, my 10 year old grandson and I had the vacay of our life! Nothing boring! I'm his young 74 y/o Nana!! We white water rafted, rode horses in Denali, airplane to glacier where he had snowball fight with other tourist in our group from Paris. Panned for gold, hiked on glacier which I found difficult , because unsure footing. It was an on the go action packed vacay,Which btw we wanted. Our tour guide Will was very good . My grandson who was so excited kept our small group of 10 quite entertained . I would go again !

It was a great adventure. Well organized. Our trip was amazing. Only negative would be that guide was not with us for the whole tour. There were a few anxious & uncertain momements in last days with no guy & no one to ask. Food was great at nice restaurants. Accommodations were nice . Definitely would recommend.

We really liked the program that these people put together. Lots of great experiences and our very accommodating driver/tour leader, Madona. We travelled with them in June 2015 on the 8 days best of Alaska trip. Only moderate fitness was required. If you are going to Seward on the train, do the deluxe package which I consider was well worth it.

THIS WAS AN AWESOME TRIP, AND THE ONLY THING THAT WE THOUGHT WAS THE FIRST AND LAST DAY WAS ALOT OF DOWN TIME OTHER THAN THAT IT WAS AMAZING. PATRICK OUR TOUR GUIDE WENT OVER AND BEYOND TO MAKE EVERYONE HAPPY, AND SHOWED, AND TOLD US EVERYTHING ABOUT ALASKA. HE WAS AMAZING, AND WE HAVE TOLD EVERYONE ABOUT THIS COMPAMY, AND ABOUT PATRICK.

From booking to completion we couldn't have had a better experience. Met all our expectations & then some. Our guide,Will,was knowledgeable & in tune with each family member from grandparents to youngest child. We'll be talking about our Alaska Adventures, Unlimited vacation for many years.

There were a lot of good experiences, however there were major issues with the driver/guide. I wrote a detailed critique to the company and never got any response. With an expensive trip like this, there should have been a much more qualified guide and a separate driver.

Guide claimed to be 'just the driver'. Poor knowledge of routes led to rushing to keep dinner reservations and free or down time being non-existent. Spoke far too much about previous wives, failed marriages and troubles of his grown children. He was 'that person' everyone dreads on a small group tour, Group was great, we formed a kinship in the face of adversity.

The whole trip was wonderful

The immense beauty of Alaska, the quality of transportation, accommodations, friendliness of the staff, especially our tour guide Will, was excellent and made for a very special father-daughter trip this year! Thank you!

Wonderful experience, AAU Outfit will situated to offer you the best Alaska has to offer, from the Ground to the water to the air. Some effort in pairing kids with other kids on luxury tour van made the trip an extended play date. Caught fish, saw Denali and enjoyed it throughly.
Our guide Kathy was priceless and experienced on whether to go b/c of weather, or stay put, to wait for window. Went in August with higher probably for good weather, and the late night Sun was never an issue with sleeping, your pooped! Awesome for kids who are mobil.

Amazing views and wildlife. Wonderful accommodations. Superb seafood. Excellent, top notch, personable and professional tour guide. Would take this tour again!!!!

We booked a tour with AAU on line to receive wonderful friendly service from our tour guide, great accommodation and many shared meals. Pre tour AAU helped us with an inside passage ferry booking from Prince Rupert to Juneau which we thoroughly recommend. This was followed by time to enjoy Anchorage before the tour and time to ourselves post tour in Seward before boarding a cruise back to Vancouver. All arrangements made by AAU.

We had a last minute panic when our ferry was taken out of service but AAU communicated and an alternative arrangement was made in a day just before we boarded our plane to leave New Zealand. Well done AAU.

I absolutely loved the Alaska trip you presented in the summer of 2016. Your company was referred to me by a friend of mine that took it several years before me and I will highly recommend it to anyone I would hear that wants to go to Alaska.

The tour guide was excellent also an incorporated as much into a day possible.

This was a great tour company. Everything was organized and taken care of. Our guide was very informative. If you get Monty as your guide you are in good hands! Nice accommodations and restaurant choices. The activity choices were perfect and all were fun!
