I found the site very helpful, provided clear information and offered excellent prices that were very competitive comparing many car rental places. I booked my car rental collection in Pisa airport whilst travelling around Italy for a week, I often book car rental collect from airports as saves on transport costs into the city and quite often cheaper . The site is a little dated but shouldn't let than put you off.
On acceptance of contract for car rental from Basel, Switzerland, airportcarhire.com created a contract for more expensive vehicle. Customer service corrected the contract with a lower priced car and advised that a price refund would be credited to my credit card. They confirmed that no further payment was required and I should ignore requests for payment completion. Airportcarehire.com cancelled the contract due to non payment. They acknowledged their fault in this matter but refused to reinstate the contract.
POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND DODGY POST RENTAL CHARGES.
What is it with car rental operations and, in this instance, an online rental 'clearing house'?
I've used a number of these automated resources now and every time they seem to utilise inertia blocks as a means to avoid resolving any problem that would take a relatively sentient human 5 minutes to resolve.
Instead I have had to deal with a 'bot' that tells me my issue has been resolved - it hasn't - and there is NO way to contact anyone at Airportcarhire directly to sort the issue. The money is not the primary issue it's the cynical methodology used to deliberately frustrate the user so they simply give up. Fortunately I have time on my hands and will eventually end up in the small claims court making a nuisence of myself.
Rented a car in Italy via Airportcarhire.com. The car hire company tried to tell us they’d upgraded us from a BMW SUV to a Ford Kuga!!! Told us it was the fault of Airportcarhire as they have headings wrong. We complained but we’re left with no option to accept or be stranded. The Kuga is 30% cheaper on all dates. When we complained to Airportcarhire they have ignored us!
Excellent service from Airportcarhire.com have used them many times and always had a good experience. There terms and conditions are very well explained so I never had a problem with hidden fees.
