Air India: No Service, No Accountability
My flight from ktm to cleveland is delayed causing a missed connection despite being a single ticketAirindia wrongly labelled me as noshow refusing no food / hotel. I was physically present at airport since landing. Dealing with them is a nightmare.. SAVE YRSELF the stress and book a different carrier.
Horrendous airline no redressal
This flight was four hours late from schedule departure . The entertainment systems did not work. The flight was filthy and unclean and posed a health hazard with blood stains on my window. AIRLINE DOES NOT ALLOW REPRESENTATION BY ANY MEANS. This airline and its management are a nightmare. I will never fly this joke of an airline again.
I recently traveled on an Air India…
I recently traveled on an Air India flight from Delhi to Frankfurt, and unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing.
To begin with, the in-flight entertainment screens were not working, which made the long journey even more uncomfortable and monotonous. Adding to this, the call button for the cabin crew was also not functioning, making it difficult to get any assistance when needed.
The food quality was another major letdown. Not only did the food taste very poor, but it was also served after a long and unreasonable delay. For a long-haul international flight, this level of service is simply unacceptable.
Moreover, the cooling system seemed to be malfunctioning. The air vents were not working properly, and the cabin felt very hot and uncomfortable throughout the journey.
What made the experience even worse was the behavior of one of the flight attendants who was serving our section. She came across as very rude, seemed unhappy with her job, and did not have a smile on her face at all. This lack of basic courtesy and professionalism added to an already frustrating journey.
Overall, the flight fell far below expectations in terms of comfort, service, and basic functionality. I hope Air India takes these issues seriously and improves its service standards, as this experience was far from satisfactory.
Easily the worst airline in the world
Easily the worst airline I have ever flown with. The plane itself was from the 1960's by the looks of it. Nothing worked. No entertainment. The toilets were a disgrace shortly after takeoff. The food gave me food poisoning. There was actually some kind of insect crawling over my chair, how is that possible in 2026? The staff just sit around talking in the lounge the whole time. I wasn't offered water once on a 12 hour flight... Just avoid... Also the most backward security system on the planet - even with a direct transfer. The man in Delhi asked me to go through at least 4 times and each time he asked me to show my boarding pass, I was the only one there... it was like some horrible comedy sketch. Rude, abrasive and that's before even you get into the airport... I also got food poisoning there.
Use Air India only without connected flights
Air India is - apart from their Pilots - just about the most incompetent airline and indeed company in the service economy. The incompetence begins at service desk in the airports and extends across every single touchpoint on the customer journey.
As said, the pilots do their job (basic competence of an airline) the flight safety was OK.
Things to avoid when flying Air India:
- do not book with connecting flights, they will always be missed by delays
- do not rely on any so called customer service from the website (forget the app)
- do not ask the ground service staff to solve any problem and do not believe any assurances that a problem has been solved by the said ground staff
- do not expect your luggage to be on the same plane you fly on
- do not rely on any digital communication e.g. boarding passes
In short, an economy flight that is direct (no connections) is OK only if it is significantly cheaper than the competition and you don’t have a hard schedule… you will get there (basic competence) but with a lot of frustration.
Apart from arriving at some time, expect nothing
Staff were not welcoming throughout the…
Staff were not welcoming throughout the flight. Even though flight was over daytime in destination they kept the lights off unless they were giving food. I think this was so they could sleep.
We will not travel with Air India again .
Absolutely useless booked with…
Absolutely useless booked with incompetent arline only to be told last minute we had a 10 hour stop over when it was originally 1and a half we have a young child its unexpecteable to wait that long no explanation given one the have your hard earned money the mess your around never ever again these incompetent idiots ruined our entire holiday plans
Do not ever fly with Air India, especially with children!
I had a very disappointing experience with Air India following a 9-hour delay. The level of disruption caused to my family was significant, especially when travelling with children.
What made matters worse was the compensation offered — just £50. This doesn’t even begin to cover basic expenses during the delay. In fact, it barely covered something as simple as a beer and a McDonald’s meal for my kids while we were stuck waiting.
The handling of the situation felt dismissive and out of touch with the reality passengers faced. After such a long delay, I expected a far more reasonable and fair response.
This experience has completely put me off booking with Air India again, and I will be reconsidering future travel plans with them.
I would strongly advise others to think twice before flying with this airline.
Flew London to Colombo via Mumbai and…
Flew London to Colombo via Mumbai and both legs were great. I messed something up with the booking before, and was easily able to resolve it via the phone and chat box (which actually works very well and that’s rarely the case for other companies). Its great they have customer service in the UK as well.
Staff was very helpful at the airport, and the food was really great- best i had in flight! Plane was a bit delayed but the Colombo leg waited so we made it ok! Really pleased and would fly again!
Flight falling apart, Relieved to arrive alive
Fleet is falling apart. Broken seats, entertainment system not working . Disgusting vegetarian meals. Very limited drink options, just apple juice. They serve meals in dark so you don’t know what you are receiving or eating unless use your phone torch. Seat side lights not working, call buttons not working The staff is disappearing after serving meals, so no service unless you walk in to crew area to find they are dozing off. no curtesy to let passengers know their entertainment system not working. I took a long flight from Bangalore to London, you have no way to know how far you have travelled, even maps not working. I’m so relieved to arrive alive in London and no surprise about the big recent disaster. The fleet is pre historic should not be flying and putting passengers lives at risk.
✈️ Feedback for Air India
✈️ Feedback for Air India – Flight AI117 on 19th March 2026.
I would like to share my recent experience travelling with Air India on flight AI117 from Amritsar to the UK. While flight delays with Air India are not unusual, what truly stood out on this journey was the exceptional level of customer service I received, service that genuinely transformed a stressful situation into a positive and memorable experience.
From the moment we were at Amritsar airport until the moment we landed back in the UK, one air hostess in particular, Prashant, demonstrated professionalism, kindness, and dedication that went far beyond what is typically expected. He assisted us throughout the entire process with patience and respect, ensuring we were comfortable, informed, and well looked after despite the delays.
Prashant’s calm attitude, willingness to help, and genuine care for passengers made a significant difference. It is rare to come across someone who not only performs their duties well but also brings such humanity and warmth to their role. He is, without question, a tremendous asset to Air India.
I hope this feedback reaches the right people, because individuals like Prashant deserve to be recognised for the outstanding service they provide. His support turned a potentially frustrating travel experience into one we will remember for all the right reasons.
Worst compagny
Worst shit ever dont fly with them 4 hours delay and lost luggage after the police get it for check but nothing wrong and they will do nothing about it and the food is awful
Don't pay for the neighbour free seats
Don't pay for the neighbour free seats! I paid over $100 to have seats free next to me and the flight attendants sat a lady and her child next me. When I enquired about this they told me 'dont worry'
When asking for a refund they refused.
Worst Airline Experience Ever
Worst Airline Experience Ever – Travelling with Family Was a Nightmare
I travelled with my wife and children from London Heathrow to Thiruvananthapuram via Bangalore on 16th March with Air India (Flight AI 321), and this turned out to be one of the worst travel experiences I’ve ever had.
The flight departed late from Heathrow Airport Terminal 2 by about 1.5 hours, and we landed in Bangalore at 2:30 PM on 17th March instead of the scheduled 12:30 PM, putting our connecting flight at risk.
The aircraft was extremely old and poorly maintained. Seat screens were not working, and unbelievably, there was water leaking from the air conditioning system during the flight. It honestly felt less like an international journey and more like some kind of unwanted “adventure trip.”
Food service was equally disappointing. When I requested rice with chicken for my children, I was told it had run out. The crew apologised but offered no proper alternative, and we were forced to accept whatever was left. My kids were hungry and barely ate.
Basic service standards were missing. Things that used to be normal—like welcome drinks or fresh towels—were either delayed or not provided properly. Even children had to wait while service seemed to prioritise others first, which felt unfair.
After landing, the situation got even worse. Our connecting flight from Bangalore to Thiruvananthapuram, scheduled at 20:30, was delayed until 22:45. We were left waiting at the airport from 2:30 PM to 10:45 PM with no proper assistance, no food, and no compensation. Travelling with exhausted and hungry children under these conditions was extremely stressful.
Even now, there is uncertainty about further delays.
Overall, this experience was poorly managed, uncomfortable, and completely unacceptable. Air India seriously needs to improve aircraft maintenance, service quality, and passenger care—especially for families.
I would strongly advise others to avoid this airline unless they are prepared for an experience like this.
Downgraded from Business Class and Still Waiting Two Months for a Refund”
I was downgraded from Business Class to Economy on an Air India flight because the business class seat functionality was not working. At the airport, staff confirmed that a refund for the fare difference would be processed and advised submitting a request after the flight.
The refund request was submitted the following day.
Since then it has been nearly two months of chasing this refund under Case Reference #34722288, with nothing but automated responses telling me to “wait 4–5 days.” Multiple calls to customer support have resulted in the same answer every time — that the case has been “escalated,” yet no one can provide any real update, arrange a callback, or connect me to the person handling the case.
The case appears to be handled by Shristi Chhetry, who continues to send automated emails but has never responded directly despite repeated requests for contact.
What should have been a simple refund has turned into two months of chasing emails and phone calls with no resolution. This level of customer service and lack of accountability from a major international airline is extremely disappointing.
Customers should not have to chase money that the airline itself acknowledged is owed.
Cabin crew weren’t friendly or helpful
Cabin crew weren’t friendly or helpful. Food wasn’t great, maybe give alternatives for people who don’t want curry for every meal. Ran out of toilet roll on the flight. Eaten food and they left our trays on the table for 2 hours.
People on the check in desks are painfully slow.
Only offered two drinks on an 11 hour flight. Won’t be flying with air India again.
Paid for seats so
Paid for seats so
We could sit together and they totally disregarded this on more than one occasion… won’t be flying with this second rate airline again
If there is an option for zero star
If there is an option for zero star. I will give him zero star. screens are not working. charging points are working.
Awful airline bad service
Awful airline bad service. Luke warm food and drinks. Only 2 menu choices. Filthy toilets and carpets. Dated aircraft. Business class non existant. Appalling. Cramped seats. Would not fly with them ever again. Not impressed with this so called Business class. I paid for it, didn't get it.
