Avoid at all costs

I got burned by Kristiarne Sauer at Mark My World Travel. I was planning a six week trip to Europe and had provided full budget details, a list of desired locations, dates, preferences, etc.

Kristiarne took an up front payment of $330, lying and saying that this was standard practice for travel agents since Covid.

After that, she completely misunderstood all information given to her, and massively overpriced everything in her initial itinerary suggestion. She also gave bad advice (e.g. "don't travel to Italy" when it turned out to be amazing).

Kristiarne's proposed accommodation list alone blew our entire holiday budget, so my wife and I offered some alternative options - in the same areas, with the same or better inclusions, and literally half the price. Kristiarne then became cold and bitter, and refused to do any further work unless I guaranteed that I would book absolutely everything through her, which was completely unreasonable.

When I said I wanted to part ways, she demanded an extra payment of $660 (not listed in her contract terms) and withheld my flight information (which I had already paid in full) until the additional payment was received. I had to get the parent company (MTA Travel) to step in to have the fees waived.

Kristiarne then blocked my wife and I on every social media platform so that we couldn't leave a negative review.

Several months ago I found another of her business listings online, left a review, and she deleted her entire profile within five minutes.

A nasty, dishonest, and completely inept travel agent.
