Received our canvas a couple of weeks ago now and I love it so much! Dispatch and delivery was fast. Only problem is I want to buy a copy of everything else on the website too!!! 🙂

Probably one of the worst experiences…

Probably one of the worst experiences I've had buying something online. First off, I knew I was purchasing a recreation of a piece of art, but what I didn't realize was that I was purchasing something that looked NOTHING like the original. The "art" (if you can call it that) that I received was noticeably sloppy and hastily reproduced. There was white splatted all over the painting that made no sense for reflections, light poles were single lines with a "w" at the top, colors were dull and bland and it lacked much of the detail the original had. When trying to get a refund they informed me I had to ship the painting back AND PAY FOR THE SHIPPING COSTS OUT OF MY OWN POCKET! Mind you I paid for the painting to be stretched so the package was huge and it would have cost me almost $200 to ship it back to them. What company in their right mind charges a customer shipping fees to return a defective product? THEY ARE CON ARTISTS TURNING SLOPPY 20 MIN "RECREATIONS" FOR HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS. I had to go through PayPal to get a full refund from them, because they refused to remedy their mistakes. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE CON ARTISTS! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND TERRIBLE PRODUCTS!

EDIT - In response to the Afremov reply.

1 - The original Order was for Rain Rustle. The Jimi Hendrix print (supposed to be sent stretched) was the compromise since you refused to let me return Rain Rustle unless I paid for the shipping out of pocket (see more below). I did not order the Jimi Hendrix piece. You even mention this in your own reply. You obviously are making things up as I have provided you the order information you requested. My PayPal order reflects this as well.

2 - I reached out to you on the SAME DAY I received the painting that I was not happy about it and wanted to send it back. That was on July 30th (well within your 180 day limit). You still asked me to pay for shipping to return the painting to you. In no way did I refuse to repack the painting. I had the original box and was packing it up myself. You refusing to offer me a shipping label when I asked for one is the only reason I didn't send the painting back. I have emails to prove this. So here you are lying again.

3 - You offered to send me a print of the Jimi Hendrix piece to remedy the original order of the Rain Rustle. The Jimi Hendrix print was in no way part of the original order. It was a compromise for the terrible piece you sent me originally. You are contradicting yourself from what you just said earlier in your reply saying it was part of the original order. This Jimi Hendrix print was supposed to be stretched and ready to hang. What I got however was a print rolled up in a tube. So I would have to pay someone $250 to stretch this canvas print, because you lied to me saying I would be receiving a print that was stretched and ready to hang. I tried to send the print back to you to fix this and again you told me I would have to pay for shipping AND pay to have it stretched even though it was supposed to be sent stretched originally. I have all the emails as proof. Here you are, lying yet again.

4 - I was being very professional and tried for months to remedy the situation another way. When we came to a compromise, you lied to me about what I was going to get. Your staff were the ones being rude, stubborn and unwilling to work with me. Again, I have emails to prove all of this. No phone calls were made. You're lying yet again.

5 - See #2 above. I went through PayPal and got my refund. YOU did not give me a refund, PayPal forced you to give me a refund. They have all the evidence I sent them and agreed in my favor. This says magnitudes on the situation. You are not a good company and your business practices and customer service are the worst I've ever experienced.

5 (again?) - The quality of this recreation is TERRIBLE! This is the whole reason I'm leaving this review. It looked nothing like the original, which is what you were selling it as. It's not just opinion, it's fact. You have many other reviews on here saying the same thing about your other "recreations". You're lying to people about a product that you are selling for hundreds of dollars. This is a fact and you're here trying to lie yourself out of a lie now. It's very apparent.

The bottom line is I received a terrible piece of product that I paid hundreds of dollars for. I had to get a refund though PayPal, because you refused to refund my money unless I paid out of my own pocket to ship the painting back to you. This review is accurate and just in every way. You're business is a scam and I truly hope this review helps steer people away from purchasing your products.

1 - sorry about confusion of Jimi hendrix. the invoice had a price tag on it instead of 0. so I thought you paid for it. Jimi Hendrix was a free print we promised you as a replacement which was delivered. We will send you a new print today stretched and ready to hang

2 - we do provide return shipping labels if we are contacted within 30 days of delivery about a problem. in your situation you requested prints as replacement. in such option we do not require a return and let the client keep the paintings of the first delivery. you selected this option and were insisting on the return. Since the return was not required based on the solution you selected, you needed to pay for it because we did not need the painting back. We let you keep the painting because of your selection of the prints as replacements. Now you have the painting and the refund. We did provide you a return label today on October 30th 2020. you can send the painting back or not , its up to you.

3 - we did address your concerns about not liking the painting and offered you free replacements in form of prints. you agreed and you got the prints. in such situation a return is not a requirement. If you ask for replacements, we let you keep the first delivered piece. We only require return in case of solicitation of a full refund.

4 - If you are being very rude on the phone , yell, scream , swear, and show leak or respect, you might get the same treatment in response. The customer service agents are human too and also can loose their patience and get their feelings hurt . its not acceptable for a customer service agent to respond in a rude manner under any circumstances but its can happen if you push them hard enough. The person who spoke with you on the phone reported you as very rude, stubborn and refusing every single solution option you were offered. Personal insults were also mentioned. We have a recordings of your phone conversations . Unfortunately this site does not let us post any files

5 - paypal do not forced us to do the refund. We simply agreed to the refund . We could have challenged it. Your transaction was from July , 5 months ago . We only have 180 days to issue a refund. then this option is blocked. If we would not agree to the claim, the case would be hanging for a long time and your refund could complicate if its 180 days after the transaction. We did you a big favor. We agreed to to the refund so this complication is avoided. we could have challenged it, then paypal would have obligated you to pay for return shipping .Paypal also has seller protection and rules for the protection of the seller and they do not let clients to take advantage of the dispute program. We had many of claims and disputes that we closed in our favor . Paypal does not obligate us to give refunds , they simply try to mediate between the seller and the buyer. They ask us if we agree with the claim or not. We decided to agree with the claim so the refund could take place before its too late because the 180 days limit was coming up. paypal did not decided in your favor, they simply sent us an email asking if we agree to give a refund or not and in case if we do not agree, they were asking for additional information.


5 - The quality of the recreations is very good. If you like it or not, is subjective and matter of opinion.
If you do not like the painting that you receive, its ok. You contact us within acceptable time limits , request a shipping label, send back the painting and get a refund. in your situation, you got to keep your painting and got a refund. But we will send you this return label you wanted so much. its up to you if you wish to return or not.

If our business was a scam, how come we have survived in online business since 2004 and have thousands of happy customers. unfortunately you cannot make 100% everyone happy, life just does not work this way. Unhappy customers mainly go to this site but happy customers are usually happy and do not have the need to be sharing their experience. The negative reviews on these sites do not even constitute 1% of our entire sales volume.

I ordered two paintings when they…

I ordered two paintings when they arrived I was okay with them. Then we had them stretched one of them was very poorly done; it was amateur. So I called the number and spoke to David Afremov he is Leonids son. He was cordial and I sent him a picture of what we received and a picture of what was actually advertised on the website. I knew it was a recreation it would not be exactly the same but I did expect it to be quality work. One of the paintings was fine and I had no issue with that. So I called David spoke to him he said that he would replace the painting and have it stretched since I had already had mine stretched and said I would have it in two to three weeks. Then on the fourth week I didn't have it so I sent him an email and I also didn't have it on the 5th week and sent him another email. Finally he responds that he would be sending the painting. So he sent me the painting unstretched and it's no better than the one that we already had. And instead of sending me one stretched he sent me two paintings one was the painting I wasn't happy with and the other was the painting that I was fine with. Only needed the Amsterdam 1905 replaced and stretched. I'm not very happy with what happened. That's my experience just thought you should know.

Huge disappointment and no customer service

I purchased a painting from this studio and after a long wait, it finally arrived. I was completely disappointed with what I received. Completely amateurish - nothing like the one advertised that I had selected to buy. The dog in the painting looks like a cartoon character. I emailed 3 times asking to return the painting and requesting a refund. I got one reply saying they didn't have to comply with Australian consumer law (not true!) and saying I could have a refund if I return it, but didn't give me an address to send it to. I emailed again asking for the address and still 2 months later, have had no reply. What a waste of money, since there is nothing I can do but put it in the bin. Buyer beware!
UPDATE: Thanks for your quick reply. I asked for your address to return the painting to, but you didn't reply. And no, you didn't provide an address return label as you claim. Neither did you refund my account. I have just rechecked it and I still have received nothing from you. I have all the emails I sent to you, and only one that I received from you so I don't need you to provide me with these. I doubt you have proof that you refunded my credit card as there was no refund from you in my account, and I can prove that.
UPDATE 24/10/20 - As a result of this review, I have now received my refund. Still I won't ever be purchasing from Afremov again.

Can't Get Enough

The painting I ordered from Afremov.com arrived at last and I hung it up right away. I was having some friends and family over for dinner so the new art piece was nice eye candy and a conversation starter. Even though I purchased a studio copy, it’s as close to the original as it gets and did not break my bank. I highly recommend this artist and his work to anyone looking to spice up the environment of their home or office.

Amazing painting

I bought this amazing painting, the combination of cubic forms on the top and horizontal lines on the buttom is very pleasent to the eye. The colors used are a reminder of the beautiful period of impressionism and that is what I liked the most in this painting.

Scam and fraud

PLEASE, ALSO, CHECK THE UPDATE AT THE END OF THIS REVIEW!

I founded today that the paintings sold as recreation by Leonid Afremov was not done by the artist. I think that a family has multiple canvas signed by Leonid (the signature is real), and the studio making the copies of the paintings when the order received on a blank canvas signed by Afremov (that's why it takes one and a half month from the order day to the shipping date. When we received our order, we noticed too many discrepancies with the image posted on website, the colors are so different. In addition, the shop that stretched a canvas, told us that the paint is very fresh, they can see it despite of the varnish put on canvas. The recreation looks OK from the far, but at close look, you can clearly see the fast, low quality work. We have the original painting by Leonid Afremov bought seven year ago, so we can clearly see that the recreation done by another hand. I would say, it's well organized business with a fraud activities. It very cleaver business - they never overstocked as they are making a recreations after the ordered placed and money received, so they never overstocked. To support the statement of having a limited number of each original painting, the company implemented a life exchange policy. Now they can sell as many copies of each painting as the orders received (without any limitation), and, if any question asked, it simply to explain that someone just exchanged the work you need to something else. I would never believe that a great artist spend his life time for making multiple copies in multiple sizes of each his work, - this is ridiculous ... Well, if you like the works of Afremov, you can buy his recreation, but don't full yourself who is the real author... This is a scam!

UPDATE - ANSWER TO Afremov:
Hello, by nature of my education and occupancy, I am dealing with the legal documents on everyday bases. Prior to order your "artwork", I was carefully reading the description and saved it at the time when order was placed. Please see below:

"We would like to present the hand painted recreation oil on canvas painting of the artwork mentioned in the title. This recreation was finished by Leonid Afremov himself with the help of his best studio artists to do pencil drawing and basic background."

Paintings Didn't Resemble the Originals

The paintings I received from the Afremov studio were very poor compared to the originals depicted online. The colours and textures were very different - the pieces were very amateur renditions of otherwise beautiful paintings.
However the team at Afremov were responsive and do process refunds for unhappy customers.
The company's tactic in responding to negative reviews also seems to be to cast doubt on their authenticity rather than apologise and admit the copies were poor.

This is a fraud

This is a fraud. They let you pre-supose that you will receive a genuine painting from the original painter but you receive a copy painted by someone else. Complete con artist. You receive a confirmed fake painting. I am not even sure if it is painted by hand or by a machine.

Loved Leonid's work but not impressed…

Loved Leonid's work but not impressed with the sharp practices employed by Afremov.com. Ordered a Limited Edition Orginal but received a poor copy by a no name artist which has no intrinsic value at all. Lied to by David and then had a long protracted email back and forth about the returns policy and the return agent. The whole episode lasted two months before I managed to get a refund. That being said I am still out of pocket by having to pay import duty and refund was less because of FOREX changes. So all in all I am £40 out of pocket for totally nothing. I even asked for another painting and exchange which meant they would have to refund me only half the money but that fell on deaf ears. Very poor experience which has soured my love of the work.

Update: Afremov now state that I didn't order a 'Limited edition original'. At the time of ordering the offer and the price was for a 'Limited edition original' NOT an Afremov studio repro. At no stage would I be interested in a copy made by a no name artist. Even after this fiasco I still gave them an opportunity to sell me another 'Limited Edition Original' which was a lower price and refund me the difference but they ignored my request. Sorry Boris et al your customer service stinks and as with other buyers you did not fulfil your end of the sales process. Refund was received but that isn't the issue.
