They dropped off late and picked up late. I could forgive that but I didn't even fill the 20-yard dumpster and they claimed it weighed twice what it should have and charged me another $226.80 after I already paid $399.00. I will not use them ever again.

Avoid Affordable Dumpster Rental – Misleading and Poor Service

Do not use Affordable Dumpster Rental. They are not a real dumpster rental company — they operate as a call center that outsources jobs to whatever local service is available in your area. I had a terrible experience:

Drop-off was a day late, which disrupted my project schedule.

Pickup took three days, even after I called to follow up multiple times.

I ordered a 3-ton dumpster, but they claimed there was a 3,000 lb overage and charged me an extra $350 — with no proof or weight ticket provided.

Their ads are misleading, and you’re better off going directly with a locally-owned dumpster service that’s transparent and reliable. I strongly recommend avoiding this company.

No communication when picking up. They slap additional charges due to their noncommunication. Avoid this company at all costs.

This company is not a locally owned company they are a BROKER. I had a TERRIBLE experience with this company due to the latency of ordering the dumpster then they contact a local company who does the hauling. The dumpster arrived LATER than promised, and then pick up took several days after it was to be picked up. The actual owner of the dumpster said they had not been contacted for the pickup yet even after a week. WORSE THAN ANYTHING...the contract states a minimal allowance for total weight and if it is exceeded then a hefty sum is charged. HERE'S the SCAM: my rolloff was filled with household debris after a cleanup so it filled with bulky items. Nearly one month after it was picked up I got a bill for nearly $600 stating I was 6,000 lbs over! Impossible! The ticket from the landfill is GENERIC with no identifiable information that it was my dumpster. No dumpster #, nor a pick up address, NOTHING to identify that it was my dumpster. THIS IS A SCAM! DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY because the customer is at the mercy of whoever they contract with and they cannot control the process. It's ripe for abuse and a class action lawsuit as well.

At first all was fine, drop off was great, Pick up however was an absolute nightmare. The truck pulled wires out of our home. Repairs cost $2450, hotel room because local electric company said we could not stay $200, now they took $600.60 out of my checking account with no notification or reason. Bill owed to me now is $3310 neither the 877 number not the local place answer their phones nor did local answer email, instead took the $600.60 from me.

They did not communicate with me when they re scheduled my pick up and slapped an additional charge on me due to their lack or organization. They do not communicate with their pick up teams about an exact pick up date so even if you call in to see what’s going on they can’t give you any details about when your dumpster will be picked up. I would advise not hiring this disorganized company.

However, I did experience some challenges, particularly with one staff member who made the process unnecessarily complicated. While not rude, her approach added confusion to what should have been a straightforward transaction. Unfortunately, I was unaware of how some dumpster companies structure their billing, which led to being overcharged.

What they don’t tell you up front is that Affordable Dumpster Rental is not a direct service provider — they’re a broker. They don’t own the dumpsters; they contract other companies (in my case, Red Box Rentals) to do the actual delivery and pickup. That’s not necessarily a problem, but the lack of transparency becomes one.

Their low upfront pricing is misleading. After your dumpster is collected, you're hit with unexpectedly high dump fees for "additional weight," billed from the landfill. I requested an itemized invoice for these charges, but it was never provided so there isn't a way to verify the additional weight charge weren't fabricated. Worse, these extra fees aren't disclosed until days later — and if you've already scheduled a swap for a new container, you're likely to incur another round of high charges before you can switch providers.

Delivery Timing: Despite requesting a morning delivery, the dumpsters consistently arrived between 3–5 PM. This caused significant delays, as I had crews waiting on-site all day. In this industry, morning delivery is critical to keep projects on schedule.

Final Cost: I ended up spending nearly $4,000 for three 30-yard dumpsters ($419 each, plus excessive "weight" charges). In contrast, a competitor offered a flat rate of $1,200 for the same number of dumpsters with no weight limits. I have since switched to that provider.

I hope this review helps you avoid the same frustration and financial hit. Go with a company that is more transparent and upfront.

I called on Wednesday to order a dumpster for Friday morning delivery. It is now 4:30 Friday and I still have no dumpster. Called 6 times got through twice. Finally at 4:30 when I got through for the second time I was told "a truck broke down". They made no effort to contact me. Poor access and poor service will not use them again, too many other people that will do what they say.

This company is a big scam. Stay away. I regret that I didn't read the reviews. I see other customers have experienced the same as well.

They reached out to me a month after I returned rental, stating that I owed them over $500 for weight additional weight. They never mentioned about weight limit and about additional charges over 1000lbs weight. Their conversation specifically stated $19 for additional day but nothing about the charges on additional weight. The language they used in conversation purposely confuse customers saying, "we will help you with first thousand pounds as well". Absolutely no mention of cost associated with weight. They also did not produce any proof that the dump yard charged them over $500 which they transferred to me.

They are not affordable. They purposely don't mention weight limit and additional charges on the weight; this prevented me from reaching out to other dumpster rental vendors.

I rented Dumpster 10 ft.³ Dumpster and it seems to be a reasonable price and this company charge me for extra day that it was sitting and even though I called them at the time of a pick up to come and pick it up it was still sitting in there for additional five days and also they overcharged me for an extra weight when they took it to the landfill so therefore I had to dispute the charge and they denied refund back to my account. Therefore, I had to go through my credit card company and report an unauthorized charge. Will never have business with them again and do not recommend them.

Beware and do NOT use !!!
Everything was fine until they charged my card $250 for supposedly coming to my home to pick it up and not being able to. No email, go text and supposedly a call that I never received. Additionally I had the driveway cleared. After a week passed without a word I started calling asking when they would be coming . 2 days later I was told they made a mistake and would be out asap. 2 hours later I was called and told it was my fault for not answering the supposed call and they send someone out and couldnt pick up dumpster. I asked for my call transcripts...nada. I asked down the charge to be removed and was told no . The dumpster is still here 17 days later !!!!

This appears to be a broker (like AAA is for towing services) who does not know at the time of your call to order a dumpster which company they will actually dispatch. The initial price is attractive, but pay close attention to the weight limit verbiage. Where literally all other companies list weight limit in TONS, these folks list it in POUNDS. ...and they charge $90/1000lbs over that limit. Our rental price DOUBLED with a weight of ~5500 lbs when this would have been completely within the limit of every other dumpster company I've worked with.
We rent on average 1 dumpster per month, and I will NEVER order from AffordableDumpsterRental again.

Rented from them twice before. Called and asked for a one week rental. They dropped off and picked up fine. This time did the same thing. Called for a one week rental then signed as before online. Delivery was great but when I returned home the following Friday evening the dumpster was still there. Called next morning but offices were closed. Called Monday and was told I would be charged Three additional days. They never mentioned I had to call the day I finished for pickup. Before a week was 7 days. Now its seven days up front but they don't schedule a pickup. The info is on the forms but having used them before I didn't think twice about it. Then I was informed that There was an overweight fee also. After the dumpster set out all weekend in the rain. So I doubt they will be used again.

After selling our house, we rented a dumpster to throw out some old furniture. The dumpster didn’t arrive on the scheduled date, and I called and texted several times to find out why. No reply. The title was scheduled to transfer to the new owner the next day and I had no time to play games. I had made this clear from the beginning. Once I made it clear that their reputation would suffer, they finally decided to send the dumpster the next day. They even sent me two emails threatening to charge me extra for exceeding the time limit for the dumpster…before they even delivered it! Now almost two days after the date of the title transfer, the dumpster is still there. No communication, nothing. So the new owner is going to have to try to move in with a dumpster in their driveway because this company can’t get organized and doesn’t bother to communicate. Run far away from this company.

DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE NAME "AFFORDABLE"!

They will give you a good price example $489.00 for 8 days. Then they will hit you for a weight fee that will double your charge! We filled the dumpster to 1/3 capacity with some old wood decking and they are saying the weight was 7800 pounds. They only allow 3000 pounds. There is no way we had anywhere near that amount of weight with around 200 2 x 4's. 1 pressure treated 2 x 4 is (via google 17#, 17 x 200 = 3400#

By the way I called their competitor P and M Disposal, and their weight limit is 8000 pounds (rental price $585.)

We have requested a printout of the weight but will be reversing the additional charge with our CC company if not resolved with company.

UPDATE: MY deck contractor said the dumpster was NOT EMPTY upon arrival! WOW Wish they had a place for a pic here. So glad he took one.

Excellent communication and great price!
Drop off was flawless with the driver coming out to introduce himself and even helped us place cardboard where the dumpster wheels may have scratched our driveway. It’s those above and beyond touches that make the difference. Pick up was easy and as scheduled and we received a final invoice virtually the same day. Thanks!

From the website it feels so friendly and family like to everyone I spoke with on the phone was so polite and accommodating. To the call I got after the service asking how it all went. I am very pleased with the service and the pricing as well. All within the budget. It feels so good to do business with people who really care. No matter what it is!!
