The 2024 Melbourne Affordable Art Fair…
The 2024 Melbourne Affordable Art Fair was a fantastic experience. We were in the market to buy a piece of art and didn't know where to start looking, as we had searched online for months; it felt overwhelming. We purchased a piece of art to hang in our home at the Art Fair. We found the convenience of having so many artists and galleries displayed in one location extremely convenient. It was also beneficial to compare artwork in one location.

Not worth it
Went to the Affordable Art Fair in Battersea Park this year and it’s really not worth the rather steep £15 entry. Not a good range of art on sale at all, crowded, disorganised and not really that affordable in the grand scheme of things.
Terrible customer service
We have purchased tickets for the affordable at fair but have not received them. We purchased them on 1st October for 19th October. We have proof of payment via PayPal but all emails have been unanswered and cannot contact anyone by phone. It is very frustrating. Looks like we won't go and will spend lots of time trying to get a refund.
Disappointed-Yes ... Surprised-No
Wow .. how best to sum up?!! ... disappointed ... but not surprised
I was booked to provide musical entertainment at the Affordable Art Fair event on the 4th May 2022 at the Hampstead Heath location.
As always, I arrived extra early. this time it was at 14:55
I made contact with the client making her aware of my early arrival.
The client wanted me to set up outside the venue, but I quickly pointed out that torrential rain was forecast from 5pm, and without a suitable performance area, this would not be possible.
The client asked me to wait while they made a decision on where inside I could setup.
I patiently waited from 15:15 to 16:50 yes over 1.5hours
It took an exhibition member of staff to get on the radio to prompt more immediate action.
It was obvious from weather forecast that there would be heavy rain during my set (5 to7pm) - as proved to be the case as the heavens opened bang on 17:00hrs
The decision was made shortly before 17:00hrs I should set up inside. I carried all of my equipment inside and sat for a further 10 mins waiting for someone to confirm where inside to set up.
It was an embarrassing situation having to set up while people arrived and were trying to navigate around me. It made it look like I just arrived and was late getting to the venue!
During the 3rd and 6th song, a woman who I had not been introduced to, but I assumed to be a member of staff, came over to me asking rather impolitely for the music volume to be lowered. It got to the stage where my music was so low, I could not hear it, but could clearly hear the DJ who was performing across the room.
Amazing comments from guests who took pictures, selfies, one couple who said they wished the dj would stop so they could hear my music, another sent over 2 items of video footage via WhatsApp thanking me for making their day.
The client would not have known this, but I have her on video congratulating me and saying how wonderful it was.
To top it all off, I was allocated a parking space upon arrival. For some reason, someone parked inches behind me, blocking off my exit. It took 2 security men to help move the surrounding fencing barriers in order to gain exit. My departure was delayed by almost 1.5 hours.
Disappointing to receive a review (2.3 out of 5) the first of this kind in the 20+ years I have been providing musical entertainment.
To arrive early, be left waiting for almost 2 hours, given precious little time to carry my equipment in and setup, to be told to reduce the volume levels so low that I could not hear what was being played, to be blocked in so unable to leave .. despite all of this .. I believe that I was the model of politeness and professionalism.
Very happy and smooth experience…
Very happy and smooth experience shipping to Hong Kong! Arrived within a week, that's amazing. I'm very happy with the two paintings I purchased. I highly recommend shopping for your art via this site.
You purchase something
You purchase something, they take your money, and then you don't hear a word unless you write to inquire about the status of the art you bought!

Initial delivery was cancelled by driver at last minute. When the art was delivered the second time I was surprised to find it was only wrapped in light bubble wrap and not a box or more secure vessel.

Great customer support
The shipment didn't go as planned, but Affordable Art Fair Customer Service Representatives (Katy) are really helpful and on the top of the process - really great support and caring for customers.

Terrible experience
Terrible experience! Do not buy from them! We ordered a painting for our son’s 21st birthday and paid by credit card. We heard nothing for 10 days. We tried calling but only got voicemail so emailed. We were told the painting couldn’t be dispatched because the gallery had said the artist was on holiday. After several confusing emails, four weeks and still no painting, we mailed after asking for our order to be cancelled. No response other than an email from postmaster saying the email couldn’t be delivered. We’re now looking into our legal position to get our money back.
Update: AAFair has refunded our money in full.
Worst experience ever
Worst experience ever. Ordered a painting of a certain size online for the advertised price. After paying for it and the additional customs duty fees a version of the painting of a significantly smaller size arrived home in London. I communicated with Affordable Art Fair, they communicated with the gallery in HK and replied to me a few weeks later claiming that the size was wrongly advertised. I said that I was interested in the painting at the advertised size. Long story short - I ended up requesting a full refund. I had to pack the painting again and deal with the transport company who gave me no receipt for the pick up service and they showed again at my property the day after the pick up to collect (for the second time) the same painting! Eventually I received a refund for the price paid to Affordable Art Fair in the first place - no refund for customs duty fees were offered. I purchased several paintings in previous offline fairs over the last 4 years but I would not recommend to deal with Affordable Art Fair online at all. Customer experience was appalling throughout the process - no support, no engagement, just a transactional approach with the minimum level of effort or empathy for the customer. Very sad. I will never vouch for Affordable Art Fair again.

Not yours until it is in your hands!
After I had selected and paid for an artwork I was informed days later that the listing had been a mistake and if I wanted to pay over four times the price I could purchase the the work. It was blamed on the gallery. It is going to take 15 days to refund my money. So disappointed!
