I think this company is appalling

I think this company is appalling. It has taken me six years to get them to record even a change of address despite numerous documented attempts and acknowledgments that it has been done. I have had to raise a formal complaint and insist that they record a data protection breach with the Dutch data protection agency. They don’t care and are even off hand.

What a terrible company

What a terrible company! Unreliable, unethical.
My husban was killed in a plane crash, he worked for KLM and formerly the Dutch Airforce.
He took out a pension for me to be taken care of in case he was killed. This company causes problems every year, doesn't pay on time, and then makes excuses why they don't.
It's always about some form, and they withhold your pension till you send it, but then, they take weeks to even look at it and just keep your money as long as possible.
I wonder how much money they make in interest keeping people's money in their own bank accounts.
They are corrupt and should be investigated by the government.
It is shameful and unethical how they treat people who are helpless.

Aegon's "All-Risk" Scam Cost Me €24,000…

Aegon's "All-Risk" Scam Cost Me €24,000 After Car Theft

Beware! Aegon's "all-risk" insurance is a total scam. My car was stolen, and they refused to cover the €24,000 loss because of a hidden clause (2790) requiring a certificate I never knew about. Neither Aegon nor Independer, the seller, mentioned this limitation. They tricked me into thinking I had full coverage, leaving me with a financial burden after a devastating theft. Don't fall victim to their deceptive practices! Find a real insurance company with honest and transparent policies.

I do not recommend for all expats who have a car to insure in Holland. I was very bad with them in November 2023 I receive a message that my car ( 10 years old ) is over insured so I decided to take out all the extra protection x save money, but despite that my monthly premium increased. Little transparency. Absolutely do not rely on them unless you speak Dutch.

aegon have committed fraud by not providing the insurance they claim to provide

I have had aegon travel insurance for a couple of years and I recently made a claim due to my night train being cancelled due to the strikes in Germany. I was told by the 'alarmcentrale' that I could make my to Austria by reasonable means, I even asked if flights and taxis were OK. After spending considerable amounts on credit cards to continue with my ski holiday I have recently been told that my claim is not valid! This is extremely disapointing and unfair behaviour from this company, the reason given was that my travel choices were not the cheapest option. Why should I be expected to take the cheapest option when my travel has been cancelled on the day of my travel? My comfortable night train was cancelled with sleeping berth and meals, why should I then be expected to sit on a bus for 20hrs which is not at all comparable. I booked convenient flights and taxis which were in no way premium. I feel like aegon have committed fraud by not providing the insurance they claim to provide and I will be taking all means available to me to pursue my legitimate and reasonable claim.

Mortgage application

I am an expat living in the Netherlands, decided to finally buy my first house after working for 1 yr and 7 months. I have ample amount of savings and no debt which is great for my mortgage application. Finally after waiting for them to deny or provide my mortgage, they DENIED me after almost 1 month of waiting and a lot of follow ups. All my details are provided such as employer statement, bank records, financial records and payslips. It is pure incompetence and neglect customer service is very poor and people don't give a damn about your situation. I highly discourage doing any type of business with this bank and move away from them.

I now reside outside of the Netherlands…

I now reside outside of the Netherlands and receive a pensioen through Aegon on a monthly basis. As has happened before, a payment did not arrive, this time the one they said they'd transfered on the 24th March 2023, but it never materialized. I have sent numerous messages and an email and personally spoke with a female csd associate who would look into it and keep me informed. I am yet to hear anything AND have still not received my March payment.
This pension represents a large portion of my income and I have told them this and the consequences of not receiving my pensioen (for which premiums were happily taken).
I would give Aegon an extremely wide berth when consideting investment products. In my opinion, they just don't care about existing customers, just aquiring new accounts.

Terrible Bank and Financial services

Terrible Bank and Financial services. In the years 1998-2005 Aegon N.V. (Spaarbeleg Bank) sold saving retail products (Sprintplan) via misleading brochures and via middlemen without proper licenses. These products later were known to be loans repackaged as a monthly saving product with a run time of 5 years. The retail investors were not investing but paying the interest only on the loans, but that became known in 2005. The ROI was so bad that most retail investors lost all their deposits and life savings. As of to day there a court cases in Dutch courthouses manage settlements. Advise: stay away from AEGON or affiliated companies like KNAB, Transamerica bank.

In order to cancel a 8 euro per month…

In order to cancel a 8 euro per month insurance on my mortgage, I need to pay 100 euro adminstration fee.

This is just one of the many examples of these white boarded terrorists I have.

Never do business with them. Ever.

I will share my experiences on AEGON on all social media I have. I hope nobody will ever make the mistake to go into business with these criminals.

AEG Induction Cooktop - lifespan 3 months

Due to previously having owned a AEG induction cooktop for 5-6 yrs, we decided to purchase a new AEG IKE64450XB to replace the old one.

We purchased the cooktop on the 8th of Feb 2021, after barely 3 months of use, the top is cracked on all ends. Given we had previously owned one for years, this one was used in similar fashion, and fell drastically short of quality expectations.

Reached out to AEG, after initially not receiving a reply at all. I was informed I could pay €120 for a mechanic to come (in addition to having paid €400++ for the induction cooking top with a lifespan of 3 months), AND had to wait 2 weeks before the mechanic became available.

The mechanic wouldn’t come to fix it, but to determine if this was a factory or user problem. So in essence, we are expected to pay €700 for a broken induction cooktop, and a mechanic to tell us why it broke, dine out 2 weeks before he becomes available, only to determine if its the product or the customers fault.

For an established business and a (formerly trusted brand), this lack of service, product guarantee, and customer support is horrible!

We pay more to purchase known brands expecting top of the line support (for which we always hope to never need).

AEG is poor quality, has no customer service, highly overpriced and unreasonable in their support extended.
