I have already reported Advance Home Solutions, who were formerly Ideal Home Solutions. They cold called me in December 2023 and inserted spray foam insulation to my loft the following day.
They contacted me in May 2024 allegedly to check the work and told me there were leaks in my roof.
Another job done the following day, and another charge.
They are cowboys targetting the elderly and those living on their own.
The Daily Mail are doing an article on spray foam insulation in a few weeks time, and they contacted me for my story. I have named and shamed AHS as their work led to complete re-roofing having to be carried out at a vast extra cost.
They seem to keep shifting offices, it was Bournemouth and now it seems to be Cardiff.

This company sold foam insulation to my elderly mother who was confused about what she was buying. She died last year, and we have now been advised by our estate agent to remove it before selling or it will reduce the price significantly - I wouldn't be surprised if they've set up a set up a company to do that too - look out!

This so called company should not be able to trade, they came out to my elderly parents in their 80's and quoted them thousands of pounds to remove the foam loft insulation and replace with foil lined curtain. They requested payment upfront of £4K and then £4K after installation. They would not accept payment on a credit card only bank transfer! When the works were complete the second payment was made. When my Father checked the loft he thought it was a good job done, he noticed that the entrance to the L Shape part of the loft was boarded up and thought it was a little odd but accepted it could have been part of the reason that behind the board the insulation was possibly stapled to! Numerous messages have been left on the answerphone for a call back as they were waiting for the certificate to prove that the loft complied with current requirements and a copy of the waste certificate but to date have not received anything. A few weeks later, a guy named Dan from a company called Bee Solutions called to speak to my parents as they were following up on Advance Solutions snagging, they arranged for an engineer to come out and take a look at the issue in the loft and guess what, he did not turn up, I was there and called back after the guy due to attend was 40 minutes late to be told that he got held up on another job; guess what he never turned up and they did not return calls. On that day, my son visited my parents and went up into the loft and created a hole in the boarded section of the loft only to find that the works had not been completed in this part of the loft and a lot of the old insulation etc was just left there! PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS! SHOCKING THAT THEY TARGET INNOCENT MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC!! I HAVE ALSO REPORTED THEM TO TRADING STANDARDS & ACTION FRAUD!!

This company has taken advantage of my 87 year old mother. They've had £1000's from her over the last couple of years, mostly for work that didn't need to be done. The work they have done is very poor quality. They took the foam insulation out of her loft and have left such a mess that I'm going to have to pay someone else to put it right. They don't answer their phone, they don't respond to emails. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!
I have reported them to Trading Standards.

Booked to put in roof insulation for my parents - didn't turn up, not possible to contact & have taken the money. Reported to Police Action Fraud dept.

Poor communication
Back in Aug22 i was contacted by this company and arranged to have my loft foam insulated and Thelma Imagine carried out.
The men who did the work did the job very well and the product has made an improvement however there communication in following up on the Thelma Imagine is zero.

I too have less than complimentary words to say about this company. The salesman came round to try to get me to have a thermal blanket installed in the loft, but whilst I didn’t want that, I did need my gutters and fascia’s replaced as they were crumbling. The quote came down from £8000 to £5000, which was more acceptable. On the whole, they did a reasonable job, but have left a couple of bits unfinished. I have contacted the team who carried out the work, every time being told they’d be round the next day to complete. Surprise surprise I am still waiting. I have emailed the company with pictures of the unfinished areas, with no response whatsoever. I have telephoned, but no surprise to hear you have to leave a message. Have I had a call back ? You can guess the answer to that one ! I’m now thinking of getting someone else in to finish the job. At extra cost to myself of course. So if they get in touch with you, avoid them like the plague!

I was taken for a ride, they rang and asked to check my loft insulation because they had taken over the warranty. The loft was fine but the salesman was more interested in my cavity wall insulation, claiming that it was old, ineffective and probably causing more harm than good. He said it would be hard and costly to remove but suggested an alternative would be to apply ProPerla masonry creme to the outside of the house, this would stop any ingress of moisture but allow the house to breath. I was promised a proper job and a
25 year guarantee certificate, this never happened. The salesman started at £9000 and came down to £3100 eventually. For this, the house was to have been thoroughly cleaned on the outside, sprayed with anti-algae agent, left to dry thoroughly and then sprayed with the ProPERLA masonry creme, I was to receive a 25 year warranty. The next day 2 lads arrived, their spray equipment and professional cleaning equipment had broken so the used a Karcher jet washer, never applied any anti-Algae agent and used a six inch hand roller to apply the masonry creme, they arrived at 10:00am and were gone by 15:00, they were to have cleaned my solar panels as well and leave me with the guarantee certificate. They jet washed the solar panels, clearly they had never cleaned solar panels before as they are meant to be cleaned gently. They damaged my new garage door which they were not going to mention, and they never had the guarantee certificate. I've now spent more than five months fighting with this company to get the guarantee, they did send me a photocopy of one, claiming to have dome the work on 27/5/22 and having used 17.5 litres of ProPERLA masonry creme on my 90 square metre detached house. This is far less than they should have used. I've checked with ProPERLA and they say my guarantee is not worth the paper it's written on. I've been shouted at and sworn at over the phone, they have sent a fake independent inspector to visit my address, he actually worked for Advance Home Solutions Ltd at times, or so he claimed and he said he knew the lads that did the work on my property. Now I've tried to take them to court, but they claim that the address on their website, at Companies House and on their paperwork is not where they are based. I wouldn't trust Advanced Home Solutions with another penny of my money and I'd advise others to take my advice.
