Fantastic experience so far!
I've been with Addition for quite a while now and never had a negative experience. They are excellent at keeping up to day with any accounting requirements and the software solution makes it very easy to manage.

Truly shocking experience.
After working with Addition Finance since February 2020, I'm parting ways. In the beginning, I felt like a valued customer, however, over the last 2 years, there has been an array or should I say a magnitude of errors from incorrectly reconciling books, last minute submission of basic accounting functions like PAYE, VAT and Corp tax right through to the complete mis-selling of products.
Last week, I spoke to the team about my concerns, there were actions to be done on Additions side, none were taken.
Truly shocking. How can you possibly provide a good service to a businesses when you have around 1 new person working on your account each month?
The core of my concerns which I've raised before and never addressed
-We have lost an extreme amount of money through fines from HMRC.
-I had to ask 3 times for our VAT to be looked into closer regarding a US vs UK issue, this was essentially done on "deadline day" -this was never resolved and equated to £6.5k
-Reconciling invoices have been associated to the wrong invoice meaning a bit of a hassle when it comes to sending statements as these are reflected incorrectly for multiple invoices.
-Someone said they'd "sort" our pension with Nest which resulted in a £400 fine from the pensions regulator.
-Endless issues with tax codes for employees.
-Constantly changing methods for PAYE to pay.
-No account management, no strategic financial help.
-Miss sold a company valuation based on our needs for EMI. When the recommended third party, Seed Legals got involved (who Addition recommended), they couldn't understand why a HMRC valuation was required for what we were trying to do with EMI shares.
-Out of the blue, decided to quadruple my fee without properly consulting me, then I was referred to a "newsletter" email which highlighted the increase.
I'm truly shocked at the experience I have had with this Addition Finance, I honestly would never leave a public like this unless I felt I had gone through every possibility and opportunity for the business to rectify its mistakes.
Very disappointed.

We are truly sorry to hear the frustrations you experienced with Addition. This is not the impression we want to leave with our customers, as we seek to provide exceptional customer service. We have investigated thoroughly with the team on the points you have mentioned:
• Whilst we don't recognise some names on there as being former or current Addition employees, I wanted to clarify that we have different teams working on different areas for our customers, this includes sales, onboarding, and the delivery of the work. I can understand speaking to different people on your account must have been confusing, and it should have been made clearer by us the purpose of this.
• I understand that when it came to reconciling payments to invoices, there was some error on our part. In order to the highest standard, which is something which we strive for, we have to communicate constantly with our customers, and we did manage to have a meeting with you in order to clear some errors that had been made. We aim to make it clear to our customers that working with Addition requires two way communication, sorry if that was not made clear to you during onboarding.
• Regarding PAYE calculations, we understand this can sometimes be frustrating, however this is controlled by HMRC via a direct link. We have investigated this and can confirm that there have not been any changes in our basis of calculation.
• Tax codes for employees aren't something that we can handle, this would be an HMRC issue, however your employees were paid on time and payslips delivered to their inbox every month.
• Regarding your comment around HMRC fines. We can confirm that you have not had any fines on your accounts since you have been working with us. The amounts that HMRC were chasing you for were PAYE liabilities. We apologise if this was not communicated well by us, but rest assured, there were no fines.
• VAT – We are constantly communicating with our clients, and we also follow HMRC guidance strictly regarding VAT. In the instance you mentioned we were communicating with you well in advance of the VAT deadline without response. We are always looking at new ways of communicating with clients, so appreciate the feedback on this.
• Pensions regulator – It is the responsibility of company directors to comply with the UK pension regulations. While we are very happy to support with the declaration, this would need to be requested by you.
With the items that are within our control, we have taken this feedback onboard in order to make sure our services are up to the highest level. We thank you for being a valued Addition customer.

Brilliant Experience with Addition!!
Everyone that I have worked with at Addition has been great! My account is currently run by Sasha, Tamsin, and Merlin, and they are all brilliant in making sure that I don't worry about accounting (either for me personally or for my business). I frequently ask Sasha and Tamsin questions because I want to understand and be involved in this aspect of my business, and they always take the time to give clear and informed answers.
I have had very bad previous experiences with other accountants, so I know what can happen when you trust your financial wellbeing to someone who doesn't care about you or your business. Addition makes me feel cared about both as a person and as a business owner, and based on my experience to-date they have been fantastic in every way. Would recommend to anyone either for personal or business accounting!

'Trimmed the fat' off all the common accounting processes
I've used addition accounting for over a year now and am extremely happy with the service. Quick to respond to emails, no faff and clear communication.
'Old school' accountants have a lot of inefficiencies in their businesses because they haven't fully adopted new software or built the right systems. Clients end up paying for those inefficiencies.
Addition Accounting doesn't have this problem and have essentially 'trimmed the fat' off all the common accounting processes.

We signed up to Addition Finance and…
We signed up to Addition Finance and Accounting in 2020 after the lockdowns started. Having already moved to XERO software we needed a specialist accounting team to help us get reorganised...and tidy up what had been a messy migration from SAGE. Addition came recommended – we haven't looked back.
They offer full accounting bandwidth from bookkeeping, regular management reporting, cap table, issuance work, payroll, VAT return checks, statutory annual accounts, confirmation statements and other modules one can choose from an easy-to-use menu. We get a lot done with Addition all at very reasonable rates – prorated on revenues.
The team is friendly, helpful and quick to turn around work. They have become an essential third-party limb to our business. We thoroughly recommend them.
