Do NOT goto any Oxford House Especially Empire Blvd in Rochester NY 14609

Do NOT goto any Oxford House, especially the one at 111 Empire Blvd, Rochester, NY, 14609!

There are two lifers there who are NOT recovered, still living in "addiction obsession" (controlling, dishonest, and potentially violent)!

They are NOT there to help out honest members of the community that need support and they are there to threaten, intimidate, and abuse the other members of the house! Don't like it? They will break their own rules and NYS & Federal law and throw residents out in middle of the night and steal their money for NOT relapsing for advocating for themselves against these two criminal bullies!

Yeah some real good roll models there, NOT!

Shameful and they have kids!

Ug!

Oxford House national office will ignore complaints and NOT even answer legitimate concerns of abuse by local house tyrants!

Shameful pieces of work at that place. Along with the not-recovered addict Mike who managers the multiple rochester houses and brags how much of a "great guy" he is while still manipulating and abusing other addicts, including at risk women!

Sickening!

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We're sorry to hear you went through such a difficult situation — no one seeking support should ever feel threatened or mistreated.

However, we need to kindly clarify that Addicted.org is not affiliated with Oxford House in any way. We are an independent online resource that helps individuals and families find drug rehabilitation and treatment options across the United States. We have no connection to any Oxford House location, including the one you've described in Rochester, NY.

It appears this review may have been intended for a different organization. We would greatly appreciate it if you could remove or redirect this review to the appropriate party, as it does not reflect our services or organization.

If you or someone you know needs help finding a reputable treatment program, we are always here to assist at Addicted.org. Wishing you all the best on your journey.

Thank you for sharing your concerns. We want to clarify that Addicted.org is an independent helpline and information resource — we are not affiliated with, nor do we operate, any treatment facilities, including the one you've mentioned.
If you have experienced unethical treatment or believe policies at this facility are unlawful, we would encourage you to report your concerns to your state's substance abuse licensing authority or the facility's accreditation body (such as CARF or The Joint Commission).
We understand how stressful it can be when a loved one is in treatment, and family connection is an important part of recovery. If you need help finding alternative treatment options that better align with your needs and values, our team at Addicted.org is here to help.

Information is misleading...

Information is misleading...

Due to what seems like unclear definitions, they make statements that are misleading, and often outright incorrect.

In their section about "racism and addiction" they fail to mention that prohibition is largely a racist policy (to my knowledge there is almost no indication it is ever *not* based on racism or ableism), and that prohibition is one of the biggest contributors to addiction.

Under marijuana they state, "it is addictive" with no reasonable explanation as to what they even mean by the term.

== Update ==

I stated that it was information about marijuana and about "racism and addiction" but apparently the site owner can't find pages on their own site. This seems rather telling, they want to "clarify information" by apparently flagging a negative review, 2 weeks after the review was posted, and try to indicate that it was that the reviewer "had disagreements" when the review stated that "the information is misleading". Ie. That the site is *not factually accurate.*

If your site is too big for you to find information that I found *quickly* then either you need some better management going on there, rather than just pumping out new articles on such a regular basis, that you don't even *know* what they say.

..COAH changed my life

..COAH changed my life! The staff is caring, professional & knowledgeable of how to deal with the disease of drug addiction. I'll forever be grateful of the beautiful people that work there. Its a rehab like no other rehab that I've ever heard of...I thought of it as a 'girl time vacation' in a way. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a fighting chance to a clean & sober life .
