ADAMS VAN LINES ARE SCAMMERS
I hired Adams Van Lines to pick up my Items from my apartment in Las Vegas. I didn't know that these scammers were a broker or l definitely would not have hired them. I was quoted from Adams 1575 from them and 2050 when this Trucking Company B&A Movers LLC out of Newhall California was hired by Adams to pick up my items in Vegas. The trip was 2550 miles to Saratoga Springs NY where l moved to. The truck pulled up and 3 foreigners got out of the truck. 2 didn't speak any English and 1 told me that he was from El Salvator. The 1 English speaker had a inventory sheet. The inventory sheet only showed 1 Queen sized bed, but there were 2 in my apartment. The guy said we have to charge you 2050 more when we deliver your items. I said the broker already charged me out for 2. He said that you have to take this up with the broker. So l called the next day and they couldn't justify why I was charged additionally. Thats bull. They were in on the scam. I told Adams that l wanted someone to over the inventory sheet. They never got back to me. I would caii and that would say that l was next in the cue. Bull l was on hold for a half hour sometimes And they wouldn't return my calls. So after 39 days in a Hotel and the fact that they had promised a 21 days, the Trucking Lines from California showed up. The guy had a terrible attitude. I also had the Saratoga Springs Police Department showed up because l thought that there might be an altercation. Well the had attitude idiot handed me a bill for 2050 before he delivered my items. I told the guy that l wasn't paying them. He said ok, bye, bye. He was about to leave and the Saratoga Springs Police talked to the guy and the Police told me that there wasn't anything that they could do, because it was a CIVIL MATTER AND THAT I MIGHT HAVE TO GO TO SMALL CLAIMS COURT. So the truck left and l called the drivers number. I called and asked where he was about to take my things to. He said, what does it matter, b th wouldce police on me. I said l certainly did because people have died fghting over a pair of sneakers before and l wanted to be protected. So l called Adams Van Lines and the guy told me that they took my things to Massachusetts and told me that inorder to get my things, l would have to pay 1000 more plus the 2050. So they delivered my items a week later by a completely different Trucking lines CL Moving LLC. From Saugus Massachusetts. So 28 days later l received my items. 2 young people showed up in truck that looked like it was out of 1950's. 1 spoke no English. When they arrived l paid THE SCAMMING PRICE OF 3100 MORE THAN MY ORIGINAL QUOTE BY ADAMS.. When the 2 young men started unloading my items they brought in one of the Queen sized bed. Believe it or not, the slats were missing and the feet. I had to go to Home Depot and have them cut wooden slats and feet to specifications. And then l noticed SEVERAL THINGS MISSING. CLOTHING, TOOL BOX, TIES, BELTS ETC. So l called and talked to another poor English speaking man and told him what happened to the bed and missing items, plus as l mentioned before, l was in a HOTEL FOR 39 DAYS. So l told them that l will take 1500. The guy said he would f file the complaint and claim. I waited a couple of weeks and then called CL Movers and l got an only SPANISH RECORDING. I NEVER HEARD FROM THEM AGAIN SO l CALLED THE NEW YORK STATE ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE. THEY SAID THAT THEY WOULD MEDIATE FOR ME AND TRY TO COLLECT SOME MONEY. AFTER THE 2ND LETTER TO ADAMS NOTHING. I ALSO CALLED ICE BECAUSE MY PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR THAT I HIRED TOLD ME THAT THEY CEO OF B&A QUALITY MOVERS WAS ILLEGAL AND MOST LIKELY HAD ILLEGALS WORKING FOR THEM. AND I CALLED THE NYS FEDERAL CARRIER FRAUD DIVISION AND MENTION ALL OF THE 3 COMPANIES INVOLVED IN THE DELIVERY AND SCAM AND I NEVER SPOKE TO 1 ENGLISH SPEAKING PERSON. I NEVER WAS OFFERD ANYTHING. ADAMS VAN LINES ARE IN ON THE SCAM ALONG WITH B&A. I DONT THINK THAT CL INVOLVED BUT THEY MAY BE. I AM HOPING IF NOTHING ELSE ADAMS GETS CHECKED FOR ILLEGALS ALONG WIITH B&A AND CL FORCSCAMS AND LOSES BUSINESS .
Disreputable and dishonest
They are a bait and switch scam artist company. The initial bid was $2,500 and before we could get our property from them the price had risen to $6,400. Soem to the additional charges were understandable but way too much game playing. were moving a two room apartment. They are only a broker and are not even the moving company. Horribly complicated paper work. Steer clear.
Be careful
Be careful, get everything in writing. We asked for advise on how to pack our belongings and were told how we were doing it was acceptable. Received a call less than 24 hours from pick up and were told they will not accept our packing and will have to pay them for materials or find another way. Very poor communication! They haven't even picked up yet and we are regretting our decision to use Adams.
The absolute worse company that I have…
The absolute worse company that I have ever had to deal with. They chase you to sign the contracts initially and promise that they would be around to support you with understanding the complete process. They really chase you to pay their fees that must be paid by cashier's check. Most likely, so that you can't stop payment on your credit card, because their service is so bad. On the move day, the movers showed up (after repeatedly indicating they were on the way) around 5-6 pm. Around 12 am, they wanted us to sign a new contract on their tablet. We were not provided copies or explained the details of the contract. For example, they had us initial/sign the tablet to accept the standard liability coverage of $0.60 per lb. per article that we had. When our belongings were delivered to our new home lots of broken items (Lambs, TV, dishes, pictures). The mattresses were wet and appeared to be dragged on the ground. They offered us $184.00 dollars as their courtesy compensation. I WOULD NOT REFER ANYONE TO THIS BUSINESS. Especially if you are elderly. They also outsource to other parties and not make sure we understood this. I was difficult for me to find anyone to return my calls or respond to emails. When I did receive text messages, they came from random individuals with unknown cell numbers. They would promise that our things were on the truck ready to be shipped, but this did not happen several times.
ABSOLUTE WORSE BUSINESS EVER!!! THEY SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED FOR FRAUDULENT BUSINESS PRACTICES.
Adam Van Lines- where to begin
Adam Van Lines- where to begin. We hired this company to move our furniture from California to Indiana. First everything started smooth because off course they wanted the money and wanted to make sure we do hire them. It was their manager who we spoke with Alex Diez, Sr Sales Manager and we also spoke with Antone Santos and he is the quality assurance department told us that cubic feet don't matter, we would only have to send them the pictures of the items that we will be moving. We asked them over and over again that are you sure since most of the companies goes based on that but he Antone kept stating no. The day comes, movers shows up at our door and when they are ready to take the stuff, they said they cannot because it is more than what we told them when it was exactly the same items. They bailed on us. Since than we tried calling them but nobody from their company has the gutts to talk to us. That shitty manager of their Alex he wouldn't even answer the calls and that guy anatone wouldn't even respond to our texts or calls. When somebody finally sent us an email, they told us oh we cancelled. No sweetheart we did not and they refuse to give us our money back. Well I know how to get our money back and I also know how to put these kinda companies in their place. You play games just to collect money well, they are messing up with the wrong people than! I won't recommend them to anybody.
They suck
They suck. Misleading delivery window. Furniture picked up on July 21st and it's still not even in transit yet. Don't believe anything they say. Scammers. Avoid at all costs!
Avoid this company at all costs
Avoid this company at all costs. They are not a legitimate moving company—they are simply out to take your money. There was no proper follow-up, and the salesperson made promises and gave an unrealistically low quote just to secure the deal. Once the process started, they found multiple ways to charge extra at every step. It felt like a calculated money grab. I strongly recommend finding a reputable mover who will review your belongings over a video call to provide an accurate quote upfront. I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone—not even to an enemy.
It’s very bad and Corrupt company
It’s very bad and Corrupt company, prices are not fixed and they broke all my furniture, I guarantee you this will not stop, I will file a lawsuit for you, for my belongings, believe me
Nightmare from beginning to end
Nightmare from beginning to end. Estimated price was NOT honored at time of pick-up. Overcharged by over $500 DESPITE shipping LESS than originally planned. Charged for "bulky items" even though I clearly measured and detailed all the items in order to get an accurate estimate. Movers were already packing up my furniture when the broker called to raise the price, therefore I had no choice but to pay. Delivery was one week later than expected. To be fair, they do have a very long window to deliver my furniture. I tracked the furniture and saw that it was sitting very close to my end location for days, and then driven to another location before finally arriving at my home. Damaged furniture upon arrival. Movers demanded payment PRIOR to delivering the furniture into my apartment. I had to request to see the truck (and the furniture) before finally making the payment since the movers refused to receive payment after delivery. They could have easily taken my money and driven away with all my belongings.
Reasonable and efficient.
As we have always seen, for a great service you have to pay handsomely, but what about the ones that are with tight pockets and a strict standard to maintain? As I belong in the latter group, I had to find a moving company that would not rip my pockets off but still provide me a standard service and luckily, I found Adams van lines! They charged fairly low for the amazing service they provided during my last interstate relocation. All my valuables were safely and timely moved to my new house. I was very impressed by the movers as they took such great care of my belongings. They didn’t charge anything extra in the end. I have no issues if you want to spend a fortune just on a moving company. But there is no harm in spending your hard-earned cash wisely.
Read ALL the reviews before hiring them
My experience with Adam Van Lines was horrible. It felt like a waste of time and money. They are not a moving company, they are brokers. They won’t even contact the people they hire to move your stuff. I was planning the move from California to Pennsylvania and it took them over 3 months to deliver. We didn’t have that many things and everything was packed and ready to go. All they had to take apart was the standing desk and tv stand.
First person I talked to was Raymond. He was real nice explaining how things will go and proceed, and they will take care of everything and it will go smoothly. Once I agree, I have to pay a fee for them but no contract, he said the contract will be signed the day the movers show up. Raymond sent me a quote on how much everything will be, and it looks right so I agreed. So later when I want to access the quote again it was no longer there. I was just happy that I screenshot it.
The moving company they used to move my stuff was Evergreengreenshift Relo. They didn't give us a copy of the contract we signed or anything.
When the movers showed up, the price wasn’t the same anymore. They added fees. Also, when they came to pick up the stuff, it was in a truck. Not an 18-wheeler. The movers came and didn’t have their own tools and didn’t have enough to wrap everything, so they had to buy some more, and you know who had to pay for it? We did.
After the movers picked up our stuff, we got an email Antone stating for shipments that are 1201-3300 miles, it will take them 3-21 business days. It took them over 3 months to deliver. I’m pretty sure that’s over 21 business days even if it was a bunch of holidays.
It had been quite since they picked up the stuff and it’s been a pretty long time. We contact them to confirm the move in date and they said it is still on schedule. We were appointed to Andrew and got no response from him. So we called and emailed about the shipment and all we got was attitude and him saying it’s a cross country move, these things take time. All we wanted was an estimated date and we couldn't get that. Then we called again later and we got more attitude and him saying he can’t get in contact with the driver. Then we emailed hi again and he said the movers are in New Jersey which it is not 2 month after the move in date.
This felt like a scam because since I already paid the broker and even if I didn’t like the movers, I can’t get someone new because we had a date set to leave so we are stuck with what we have.
At the drop off, they ask if it was big enough for a 18 wheeler to park, we told them that it was just little streets. So the movers charged us extra for a shuttle because a 18 wheeler couldn’t fit.
The whole experience with Adams Van Lines has been miserable. Then at the end of everything and after we got the stuff, we submitted a claim and them and they were willing to compensate us because of what happened. I took that as a hush hush money because It even stated if we took compensation, we can’t complain, post, or take legal actions at all. My freedom of speech is more valuable than that. I have more to say but I will say it on social media platforms.
Adored this move.
I loved the way I was able to relocate with the help of Adams van lines. The services were so smooth and free of errors. When the movers came, they ensured that all was perfect. During the relocation, they started by packing the things properly. They were very careful not to make any silly mistakes. Most noticeably, they were keen on handling the electronics properly, especially my television. They handled this whole move carefully in the best possible way. I am so proud of their relocation services.
WORST 'moving' ever- Adams Van Lines
Worst company- They do not tell you everything over the phone- They provide wrong information and promise there will be no hidden fees and you have free insurance included up to 1000.
The truth is they charge you more after a week on a phone call, saying the initial list of belongings should be exact OR it will cost you more on the day of the move, they charge you for a sudden switch of trucks that you have to pay and during the transfer they damaged many items including Two TV's worth of 1000. They never assembled- I had to bring someone else to do it and pay for it. Upon complaint, they responded that they were only the BROKERS and the Movers were another company. They offered 0.60 cents for every pound of damage (144 $ for everything). Back-and-forth complaints with BBB resulted in repeating responses- They are just the BROKERS a fact that was NEVER revealed during the initial communication. JUST DON'T: Please save yourself what others and I went through. I wish I could give no stars.
I contacted Adams Van Lines on November…
I contacted Adams Van Lines on November 2,2022 to move my furniture from Sal Leandro, California to Ft. Smith, Arkansas. To make a long story short they contracted a company in California to pick up my furniture. Well I didn’t see my belongings for 7 months and when I finally received it that company stole my new clothes, shoes purses and other belongings. I sued Adams and Alex Diaz said that I couldn’t sue them because I wasn’t in the state of Florida. Well, I won my judgment but they wouldn’t pay me. I went back to court and got a foreign judgment and sent it to the court house in Florida and it was delivered. My brother and myself called them and they hung up on us. I’m a senior citizen citizen and I am on fixed income. Adams if you think you are going to push me aside and not going to pay me then you are mistaken. People if you want to use an out of state company don’t use Adams Van Lines because if your items don’t arrive for 7 months like mine and you don’t live in Florida then your shit out of luck like me. Don’t be fooled by all of these reviews because they haven’t experienced what I went through. Adams and Alex Diez you should be ashamed of yourselves. You may never pay me but you will pay GOD!!! Mrs. Patricia Cummings
P.S. if you don’t believe me then text me and I will send you a copy of my award letter.
OVERCHARGED/LACK OF TRANSPARENCY/FRAUD ALERT
My experience with Adam's Van Lines has been nothing short of a nightmare!
Now to start, the agent from Adam’s Van Lines gave me an initial move estimate of 2099 $, which ultimately ended up being 2914.31 for me! Now, I know they may come and argue that Adam’s Van Lines is not responsible for additional charges that may arise beyond the estimate. If that’s the case, then why do you give the customer a wrong estimate to begin with??? In the initial estimate, my items were 312 cu.ft, which was changed to 330 cu.ft by Cita Van Lines because of a few small items. You’re not saying 18 additional cu.ft would have probably cost 800$ dollars more, right??
Here's where it gets REALLY **SHADY** though: At first, all of my communications were with Adam’s Van Lines, but as soon as problems surfaced (like two precious items LOST! by Cita Van Lines), I found myself dealing with Moving Services Inc. (which is “apparently” a separate company but “somehow” related to Adam’s Van Lines). Moving Services kept telling me that they were not Adam’s Van Lines, but the funny thing is that most emails associated with Adam’s Van Lines are exactly moving services emails. So Adam’s Van Lines logo, affiliation, and the moving services emails are on there altogether!
Moving Services also told me that they were the ones who assigned Cita Van Lines for the job. BUT one of the agents from Cita literally texted me before the move and told me they’d been hired by Adam’s Van Lines to do the job!!
Now when I pushed for compensation for the lost items with Cita, they did not respond. Then moving services stepped in to offer me a pathetic $57 as a “courtesy” compensation and told me that if I signed the compensation form, I couldn’t write reviews or file complaints anywhere about both Adam’s and Cita Van Lines!!! On top of that, they claimed Moving Services was the one handling it, even though all previous communication and billing had Adam’s Van Lines all over it!!! It’s clear they (Adam’s Van Lines) were trying to dodge responsibility and avoid compensating me fairly by just passing me around and shifting blame between companies!
And oh my god, this moving services sort of affiliate, doesn’t even have any websites, and when they email you "themselves" ("not on behalf of Adam's !"), it’s not even clear who you’re communicating with. No name at all. ALSO, The address they have given me is under the OVERPASS! IT DOESN'T EVEN EXIST!
Adam’s Van Lines, along with its shady affiliate, Moving Services Team, operates in a way that’s designed to confuse, overcharge, give wrong estimates, and avoid responsibility! They hide behind multiple entities and use these tactics to scam customers. Don't even consider this "company (!)" if you don’t want them to steal from you, communicate poorly, and not take accountability even a bit!
**ADAM'S VAN LINES, EXPECT TO SEE THIS REVIEW EVERYWHERE AND BEING REPORTED TO LEGAL AND FEDERAL AGENCIES.**
BEWARE
I am not sure where these five star reviews are coming from other than from themselves with false names or paid people. I thought long and hard before writing this review because I want to be accurate and tell our story about the worse experience we went through. We contacted Adam’s and the sales rep was Alex Dias, he was eager to help us. That is the start of our nightmare. We went through each room of our house via FaceTime, Alex said we would need our own truck and a 26ft truck would be more than enough. In the meantime we sold our couch, two large accent chairs, our dining room table, buffet and six large dining chairs (these were all included in the original FaceTime video). Day of moving arrives….we were suppose to get. 24 hr notice prior to movers showing up, we got no notice. Since Adam’s is a broker, they brokered the move to United Prime Van Lines. We paid for the Kitchen to be packed, TVs and large art work and large pots, we packed the rest of the house our selves and also paid for wardrobe boxes. Right away we started getting charged for extra boxes then guess what the truck was full and we still had items left!! What happened to we would have more than enough room and the fact that we had less than the original quote!!! Oh, of course we need another truck…..First truck was 9999.99 second truck was an additional 5107.20 to United Prime Van Lines, second truck was already loaded with other peoples stuff and the rest of our belongings took up maybe a third. So we were at the mercy of these movers and thanks to Alex over promise and under delivered we are out over 5000.00. So we were to get 1 month storage and delivery included from the original quote, we told Alex we would need an extra month of storage and asked how much that would be, oh that will only be about 450.00, quests what it turned out to be, over 1400.00. So now we are out 6400.00 From the original quote. Day that we are finally ready to move in, we get a call from United Prime and they say they can’t deliver you our house in the 18 wheeler because it wasn’t accessible, we said that isn’t true, it is a new development and they are still building houses, streets are wide and there is no restriction on weight. The driver shows up in a 26 ft truck and the guys that were waiting at our house were Craig List hires. The driver would not release our belongings until we paid an additional 2300.00. They wanted money orders, cash or Venmo. I feel we have been extorted out of money, we were lied to since there was no 18 wheeler in the first place, they put in the contract to do just this sort of thing. Oh and Gus’s what 2 days later a 18 wheeler Mayflower truck shows up across the street were new neighbors are moving in. I took a picture. When I called customer service it was another Company called Moving Services Team, they had scripted answers but they said they had a “good will fund” for this sort of thing and they would submit this for us. We were offered 150.00 for our trouble. What a joke, we were extorted thousands and they want us to accept a meager offer and sign documents that we would go on social media. We declined their offer. They lied, cheated and extorted and they are all in this together and it is criminal. This started in June24 and ended in August 24th.
WORST COMPANY EVEE
It’s sad to tell you that Your company is the worst I had ever dealt with. Your people starting with your Sr. Sales manager ALEX DIEZ ARE THE BIGGEST liars and thief’s who took my personal belongings from NJ to FL and aside from BREAKING my new fridge, new washer machine, grill and more, you also STOLE MY SON’s CPU gaming computer, his monitor, my patio set, our Alexa cube box, my husband cigar lighters (even with his name on them) and more. And now no one is responsible for it and none wants to respond to us for all the damages, losses and extreme stress this is causing me and my family. I was PROMISED by ALEX DIEZ that moving was going to be smooth and stress FREE because his company was that great and guess what, it wasn’t. The drivers who picked up and dropped off my stuff BOTH gave us issues and after we WERE FORCED TO pay FULL AMOUt before getting our stuff driver in FL WAS REFUSING TK DELIVER MY things because he was not paid . This is when we learned that several independent companies were involved during my moving and now NOBODY wants to take responsibility and pay for my damages and items STOLEN FROM YOUR STAFF.
It’s embarrassing that as a company you allow this to happen and not take responsibility for your staff zero integrity. Stealing from people after we trust AND PAID you to deliver our stuff the same way it was picked it is just UNACCEPTABLE. I expect to hear from your upper management asap before I take next steps with this situation.
The moving crew was a hardworking
The moving crew was a hardworking, punctual group and took good care of our belongings.
These movers are great for their…
These movers are great for their clients; their moving expertise and management were immaculate. The staff and materials quality made the relocation worth it.
I recently used Adams Van Lines (and…
I recently used Adams Van Lines (and their brokered mover Atlantic Group USA ) to move from CO to NJ. In short, not worth the money in my opinion. The deal starts out nice with a dedicated coordinator (who you really don’t hear from after intake). The focus is on weight and cubic feet initially and what they’ll be hauling to move your stuff. They urge you to over estimate and to think of everything (like moving is your business and not theirs) and assure you what you don’t move but pay for will be refunded. In short, using their worksheet and logic, I moved approximately 108 cubic feet or 27% less than I estimated and paid for but when their brokered mover, who they farm your job out to , gets to your home there’s no way they are going to agree to give back money. That’s what happened in my case. All of a sudden the focus is on number of items and not weight or cubic feet. It’s a complete bait and switch.
As for getting your stuff- I had 1 guy show up to deliver my stuff late on Memorial Day vs the team of 4 that loaded my stuff, felt compelled to help him since he was alone, had to correct him on items he brought in to my unit that were not mine, and had to personally go into the truck to identify items that were mine because the truck (and items therein) was so disorganized and poorly managed. And did I mention you have to pay upfront before they will unload any of your items even though you have no idea of the condition of said items after transporting. I had one beautiful bench that was so badly damaged, I can no longer use it. The “Customer Service “ team was willing to give me approximately $50 for it but I declined so I would be free to elevate my concerns and post this review. I guess the $50 is based on weight of a bench using their algorithm but they never actually weigh anything so I’m not entirely sure how any of this is derived.
At the end of the day, I’m glad my cross country move is done and I’m in my new home. I’ve moved many times for my career and personally and if you can do it yourself- do it. I’ve had experience with pods and that was awesome. It’s just a shame, and a sham, that a company who is in business to facilitate moves can cause so much stress and heartache when they should be in business to minimize that all for you during an already stressful time. #neveragainadamsvanlines
