This place is not good, first you get the credit card…then they give you a credit limit. Let’s say your credit limit is 500.00, 7 months later your credit score went down 10 points…Academy Sports will decrease your credit limit 200 dollars…now if your score go up they don’t raise your credit limit… they only decrease. That’s 1 problem, so if you pay for your item with your credit card …it’s supposed to be free shipping. Then they will say on certain items…so they determine which items that’s excluded from shipping. Mind you Commenity Bank finances Academy Sports and I expected more but because they also finance King Size…I see now. They have different business practices.

My wife is handicapped and she needed shoes. Texarkana Academy HAS ONE CART for the whole store. That is totally ridiculous. It is obvious that the management of Academy care more for their younger shoppers than they do the older folks. We called ahead before coming over to the store and they said there was one cart available. Of course upon our arrival it was gone. Very disappointed in the service at our store here in Texarkana.

I made an order on July 16th for shotgun shells and cleaning supplies. On July the 20th I received the first box of 3. This part of the order was supposed to be a box of shotgun shells. I received a pair of 3.5 children's shoes in it. I called the store listed as my local which is not close, the reason i ordered online. They gave me an 888 number. I now have to return the item, they won't refund my money or replace my item until they get these children's shoes back and process it. What kind of moron sends out children's shoes in place of ammunition? Even more importantly, who got that ammunition? Some child? Somebody in their shipping department decided to keep it? Either way, it's bad business and I now have to wait until the next time FED EX comes to my home to pick up a package to return this item. It did NOT come Fed Ex.. It came USPS. I do order regularly so Fed Ex will be here at some point, but it makes no sense that a pair of 5.00 childrens cheap shoes are holding my 40.00 worth of shot gun shells hostage.. Bad business all around. By the way, they didn't seem to be a bit concerned about who got my shotgun shells. I hope somebody in that store isn't a shooter and they trace them back to me.

Worst customer service. They sent me the wrong item and it was a nightmare to return it. Will never shop with them again.

So I was offered a $15 off discount if I applied for the credit card, which I was approved for but their glitches would not allow me to utilize the credit card and complete the purchase. So now. Ridiculous obviously the chat features was another glitch. I purchased my items with PayPal losing the discount because PayPal would work but not their con credit card deal.

You almost need a birth certificate to return an online purchase at the Kennesaw, GA store, despite having the email from your purchase. I’ll never purchase anything else at Academy Sports. Oh, and yeah, I still have the item and I will not be as understanding the next time back.

My online order for ammunition was delivered promptly, but it wasn't what I ordered and not anything I could use. I contacted, what they call customer service, who immediately told me to bad, but you can't return it, even by carrying it into a store, and that they can't refund my money. They then stated, well, if you send us pictures of what you received we will see what we can do. The rep sent me an e-mail, and I replied to the link she gave me with pictures. The link on the address keeps coming back as undeliverable. Worst customer experience I have had with any company and they just lost a very good customer. BEWARE of ordering anything online!

I ordered $150 worth of magellan outdoors shirts and my cart said it was a BOGO (Buy one - Get one 50% off). When I checked out, I did not receive the BOGO and called customer care, sent pictures of my cart with the BOGO, and they refused to honor the discount. I even sent them the photo from Google showing they are advertising a BOGO. They didn't care or even offer any solution.

Hate paying for 2 day delivery when the the store sits on the order for 3 or 4 days before the shipping process starts... won't be ordering from them again.

Horrible experience shopping online. They keep selling me defective items. I don't sustains and holes in them and when you return the item they put it back on the shelf and try to sell it to other people as if nothing's wrong with it knowing there is!

Bought a shirt online from Academy 320 peachtree parkway. Received confirmation for the order and ready for pick up. I arrive, give the customer service rep my order number and they say the order is cancelled. I asked how can an order get cancelled when I received a confirmation number? Blank stares and apologies is all I received. They said I should have recieved an email regarding the cancellation.
I did not. Not shopping there anymore due to poor business practices.

Their service has gone from the penthouse to the outhouse! They screwed up 2 of my orders in 24 hours and their customer service reps are rude and liars. I ordered a pair of jeans last night and when I called to check on the order this morning the order this morning, I was told you would be sending the WRONG size. I tried to cancel the order and the "customer service rep" told me that it was too late. She then told me it was being shipped to the WRONG address and that I would have to figure that out REALLY!!??!!! No other shippers have this problem. I then ordered a pair to be picked up at my local store and got a confirmation that it was ready. When my wife got to the "associates" at the store told her it was cancelled, while I was on the phone with their "customer service reps" and they say it was NOT cancelled, it is being shipped to the store even though the order clearly stated to be picked up TODAY and I got a CONFIRMATION that it was ready to be picked up. There are way too many options to deal with their poor service. Go elsewhere.

Stay away from online shopping!! Academy Sports partner with EFW Track, a company that has a 1.5/5 Yelp and 1.9/5 TrustPilot rating. These rating levels are levels that fraudulent companies have, and for a good reason.

In store they are great I would give a 5 star but there online is not that good there website will let you add and buy out of stock items and they will tell you they have cancelled the order this happened to me about 3 times and I think I am done using there website

A very easy way to shop and save money with online purchases.

I ordered 2 t-shirts and other than the one that said it was orange but is pink, they came on time & are the ones I ordered.

The ammo I got seems to be from the 1960s . Don't order from them. I recommend topguns.store (TOPGUNS.STORE)

Company correctly replaced a ‘wrong item received.’

Minus 1 star for wrong item. But the service and price I feel is worth 4.

When I had a very hard time finding kayaks in the Syracuse NY area, I had to resort to buying them online. After much research I found what I was looking for at Academy Sports and Outdoors. I ordered 2 kayaks, paddles, and roof racks for the car. When placing the order the delivery date for the kayaks was about a month out, I was a little upset that it would take so long but they arrived WELL before said delivery date. When I only received 1 set of roof racks I called customer service and they had one shipped out the next day and received it will days!! Super helpful and I am extremely happy that I went through Academy! Great products and customer service, I will definitely use them again in the future.
